EditRequest gadget
[edit]The EditRequest gadget has never worked, ever since it was imported from Commons in 2020. As written, it only runs on pages that have elements with the class .com-edit-request-admin-area, but no pages on Meta have this class. According to Special:GadgetUsage, it has 20 active users and 6 inactive; the gadget has always been admin-only, so these 26 are all admins or former admins.
The gadget consists of these three pages:
- MediaWiki:Gadget-EditRequest.js
- MediaWiki:FulfillEditRequest.js/install.js
- MediaWiki:FulfillEditRequest.js
I have deleted them accordingly and removed the corresponding entry from MediaWiki:Gadgets-definition. If someone wants to try their hand at rewriting it so that it works on Meta, feel free to ask me for a code review. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 05:18, 16 December 2025 (UTC)

- @Waltercolor: Do you plan to create events on Meta-Wiki? – DreamRimmer ■ 11:12, 16 December 2025 (UTC)
- @DreamRimmer My organization (Projet:Les_sans_pagEs on Wikipedia) required recently that for my local workshops I now use the tool Events of the Foundation. So, following the example provided, I created last week (with no special rights) a Wikipedia page with an "Event:" syntax allowing the registration of my participants via Events and linked the corresponding outreach dashboard in Events. It seems it worked, but I have no idea if it's the correct way to use Events, because someone else of the project asked me also to make a sysop request for right's like this example to become an organizer of my events in Events. What am I supposed to do exactly ? Thanks. Waltercolor (talk) 13:27, 16 December 2025 (UTC)
Done You meet the criteria, so I have granted the right. I only wanted to check whether you plan to create events on Meta-Wiki. The reason I asked is that your project page is on the French Wikipedia, and that wiki has a local right for event organisers. – DreamRimmer ■ 13:34, 16 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks @DreamRimmer. I use also to work with people on other wikis as Wikiquote (for the #SheSaid campaign), Wikidata, Commons, Wiktionnary... So it's not only the French Wikipedia. Waltercolor (talk) 14:35, 16 December 2025 (UTC)
