New stewards are elected roughly once per year. Stewards perform technical tasks on all Wikimedia wikis based on community consensus and on the Stewards policy: changing user access, viewing user information in cases of abuse, and so on (see details).

Candidate submissions are open from ۳۰ مارچ ۲۰۲۴, ۰۴:۵۲ (UTC) until ۳۰ مارچ ۲۰۲۴, ۰۴:۵۲ (UTC). [[Stewards/Elections {{{year}}}/Questions|Questions to the candidates]] can be submitted until the election concludes.

The voting begins on ۳۰ مارچ ۲۰۲۴, ۰۴:۵۲ (UTC) and ends on ۳۰ مارچ ۲۰۲۴, ۰۴:۵۲ (UTC). Candidates must meet the [[Special:MyLanguage/Stewards/Elections {{{year}}}/Guidelines|criteria]] and obtain at least 30 votes in favor with an 80% support ratio. You can track the results with [[Special:MyLanguage/Stewards/Elections {{{year}}}/Statistics|collected statistics]].

Stewards organise the elections themselves. The Board of Trustees decided in 2009 that they will abstain from confirming the result of new elections. Therefore, stewards create an election committee for every election consisting of volunteers for the following tasks:

Closing the steward elections;
Certifying the outcome of the elections, after all votes cast in all candidatures were verified for eligibility;
Appointing the elected candidates;
Closing the steward confirmations;
After the steward confirmation, weighing consensus by community and stewards, and then decide whether to confirm them or not.
