Welcome to Meta!

Hello Ashina, and welcome to the Wikimedia Meta-Wiki! This website is for coordinating and discussing all Wikimedia projects. You may find it useful to read our policy page. Happy editing!

Hi, It's very interesting, congratulations. Nevertheless, this is not enough to publish their content on Wikipedia or another Wikimedia project: they need to release their content under CC-BY-SA, otherwise you'll only be able to publish their images (and only if you have an Exemption Doctrine Policy). Hi, thank you! Could you please explain what are the next steps in order to release content of Kazakh Encyclopedia under CC-BY-SA? Is there any document or agreement for this license? --Ashina 08:19, 3 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
You will need to get a letter signed by those people which says the encyclopedia is "available under a CC-BY-SA license" [here you can link to http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ ] Regards, SJ talk | translate   03:12, 12 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Logo change

[edit]

reposted from my talk page

This is something handled at Requests for logos.

Some projects offer multiple scripts for readers, where there is a natural way to change from one to the other when reading. You may be able to set up something like this for the different script versions of Kazakh. See the chinese wikipedia for an example of this. SJ talk | translate   05:46, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Kazakh Wikimedia Chapter

[edit]

Hi, I'd like to ask you about the update regarding KKWM chapter recognition process? Thank you! --Ashina 13:53, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
As far as I am aware, we're currently still waiting for a reply to Delphine's question on Talk:Wikimedia_Kazakhstan regarding the number of active Wikimedia project editors in the candidate chapter group. I was planning on sending a reminder about that a while ago, but didn't get to it unfortunately. Effeietsanders 13:57, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, however could you please clearify what we need to provide? Do we need to provide list of wikipedians working on application or anything else? thank you for your assistance! --Ashina 11:11, 26 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hi there. A good start would be to give us the usernames of people currently active in the chapter application *and* active in the Wikimedia projects. Who among the people working on the chapter is an active Wikimedia editor (can be any project, just give us a link to their user name on the relevant project and a few words about what they're doing for the chapter. Hope that makes things clearer. Best. notafish }<';> 09:41, 12 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Chuvash Wikipedians, Tuvan Wikipedia, Wikimedia Kazakhstan and Karakalpak Wikipedia

[edit]

I've seen 2 active Chuvash Wikipedians (Santăr, Ikur21). They can be contacted with you. Can you leave a message to them? Any plans to participate Karakalpak Wikipedia and Tuvan Wikipedia (on Wikimedia Incubator) in the next year's Turkic Wikimedia Conference? Any plans to discuss Wikimedia Kazakhstan? --V. Sharulavena (talk) 11:34, 4 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Who was it who replied to the Chapcom questions?

[edit]

Hi Nartay. Can you clarify who was the author of this edit replying to chapcom questions. Peter Damian (talk) 08:53, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Any chance you'd be able to glance at an AfD on ENWIKI?

[edit]

The discussion in question is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Kanat_Auyesbay

There's a great deal of sourcing in the Kazakh equivalent of the English article, and a word or two from someone who could read that could prove determinative. Cheers, --Joe Decker (talk) 15:47, 27 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Superprotect status

[edit]

Dear Ashina, since you are an administrator on a wiki from which no user participated in this discussion, I'd like to make sure you are aware of some recent events which may alter what the Wikimedia Foundation lets you do on your wiki: Superprotect.

Rolling out new design for Kazakh Wikipedia

[edit]

Hello, fist of all, sorry I'm writing now - I was convinced this edit got saved long ago! Luckily, the new Discussion Tools kept what I wrote in my cache. Phew!

Thanks for coming with the question about the "new" skin. The answers on the Stewards' noticeboard are correct. Honestly, at this moment, I'm not sure why a message about the change wasn't sent to your wiki last year, when we were making the change on most Wikipedias where no one asked us for a reschedule. Anyway, we are able to do this any time.

It'd be best if you had a week or two for the discussion in your community. I'll watch it and be there to answer questions. How does that sound? Would you like to start the discussion, or would you rather have me do it? SGrabarczuk (WMF) (talk) 14:10, 22 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Конференцияға қатысу мүмкіндігі

[edit]

Мына жерде конференцияға қатысуға ниет білдіріпсіз. Қыркүйектің 2-3 күні қатыса аласыз ба, сол туралы 1-2 күнде жауап беруіңізді сұраймын. Batyrbek.kz (talk) 09:37, 22 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
