Congratulations, dear administrator!

[edit]
Congratulations, Jianhui67! You now have administrator rights on Meta-Wiki. Please take a moment to read the adminstrators' policy again and to add to your watchlist several related pages (in particular: Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat and Meta:Requests for deletion) before launching yourself into administrator duties. Please keep an eye on the index of policies and guidelines and the local discussion forum too. Please note that while most actions done with administrator tools can be reversed by other administrators, some such as history merges or imports are not, or can only be undone in full or in part after a great amount of work, therefore you shall be extra careful when performing these type of actions. If you use IRC feel free to join the #wikimedia-metaconnect channel. You may also find our administrators' handbook useful for your day to day. Please check or add your entry to the list of administrators as well. Administrators are also allowed to subscribe to the metawiki-admins private mailing list. Subscription instructions can be found in the mailing list main page. Feel free to ask me any other administrator if you ever have any doubts or questions about the tools. Sincerely, f

About Peterxy12's translation

[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you left a message on his talk page in May 2025 regarding his rough translations. However, he is still posting low-quality translations on other sites. Although multiple users have warned them across various sites he did stop for a while on those specific sites — they continue to use machine translation to post poor content elsewhere, such as on translatewiki. The most recent instance I found was on mediawiki (such as mw:Translations:Template:LC_zh/63/zh and mw:Translations:MediaWiki_Stakeholders'_Group/40/zh), and I'm leaving this message because you're aware of his behavior and also a translateadmin in mediawiki. Given that this user is clearly aware that they shouldn't just submit strings appear in the translation suggestion panel yet persists in doing so across multiple sites, I believe some form of global restriction should be implemented. Hello, thank you for your message. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a global restriction for translation namespace. I have looked at some of his translations on MediaWiki, and they are indeed low-quality and unacceptable. The only thing we can do is to delete his unacceptable translations and ban him from editing translation namespace on individual wikis. If he wishes to continue translating pages, he is free to request a lift of the ban. Jianhui67 talkcontribs 04:09, 19 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
