Wikimedia Chile is an organisation without ends of lucre, local chapter of Wikimedia in Chile. It was recognised by the directory of the Foundation Wikimedia on 13 June 2011.

Its legal personality was granted by order of the President of the Republic through Decree Exento 4426 of the Ministry of Justice of Chile. The decree was published in the Official Journal on 28 September 2012, the date on which it legally begins its activity.

Wikimedia Chile has as its mission to spread and promote all the Wikimedia Foundation projects on the Chilean jurisdiction, and give support to the communities participating in those projects, organizing activities and encouraging the dissemination of free contents and wikiculture through projects and activities.

Directory

The current directory of Wikimedia Chile was chosen in the 14th General Assembly Ordinary of Partners on 06 April 2024 and will exert his functions until April of 2026. The directory is composed of the following way:

The Wikimedia Foundation works globally, providing technological assistance and support to volunteers and projects. Wikimedia Chile, focuses more specifically on activities in Chile, Spanish content and Latin American communities.
