Cross-wiki requests
Meta-Wiki requests

Stewards: for instructions, see the steward handbook. The interface is at Special:CentralAuth. Until Bug 14330 is resolved, do not delete any global accounts that contain local accounts marked as 'confirmed by login'.

Requests for locking global accounts

Here's a place where you can request accounts with offensive name or vandal-only contributions to be banned and hidden from global user list.

Requests for usurpation or deleting global accounts

Here you can request your account deletion and usurpation on wikis without active bureaucrats, or request the deletion of a global account if you need to be renamed or to usurp an account elsewhere. Please add new requests at the bottom!
If you want to request the renaming of multiple accounts on wikis without local crats please use the format:

I request usurpation of the following accounts, which have been created by a stalker and none of them has an edit: Wikisource:de:user:Harald Krichel, Wikiversity:de:user:Harald Krichel, es:user:Harald Krichel, id:user:Harald Krichel, sk:user:Harald Krichel and Species:user:Harald Krichel. Thanks, Harald Krichel 18:49, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not possible, since you already merged your accounts. We will first have to delete your global account. (You will have local accounts on all merged wikis then.) Do you want that? Btw., you have to ask the bureaucrats on the respective wikis to get your accounts fixed there. Only those without local crats can be done by us. And afaik all of the mentioned wikis have bureaucrats. --Thogo (talk) 19:59, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If the user account was created by a stalker/vandalizer this can easily be checked by the IP in the server logs (don't know: is this legal ?). Can a global CU be addressed regarding this ? If it is like this, then there should be no problem with usurping.
If not, I am not sure how this all is contradictory to the principle Wikipedia:Assume good faith (see also comment here).
0 edits can mean: that the user on de.WV didn't start a negative action against the user (or de.WV) since more than 230 days. You can also say: that user didn't contribute (positively) to de.WV - there are many other user accounts like this on de.WV and probably elsewhere. I am not sure is there a right/decision that a user must automatically get everywhere the same account ? ----Erkan Yilmaz (Wikiversity:Chat, wiki blog) 00:58, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It seems on some he had been already renamed. A checkuser is not possible (too long ago). But since the account has no contributions I personally don't think that his request should be denied, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 11:41, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Usurpation accepted. Please see here for more info, ----Erkan Yilmaz (Wikiversity:Chat, wiki blog) 01:27, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Seems that all accounts listed here have been usurped, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 00:16, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wiktionary:ru:User:Rombik -> Wiktionary:ru:User:Роман Беккер.

Please help me with renaming my user account Rombik on ru.wiktionary.org to Роман Беккер, because I want to SUL-merge it with my main account, which is Wikipedia:ru:User:Роман Беккер. I've contacted a local bureaucrat - Wiktionary:ru:User:Schwallex (there's only one bureaucrat), but he appears not to be active. Thanks in advance. Роман Беккер 08:02, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Schwallex is completely active (last edit yesterday), please wait for a moment or send him a mail. Thanks --Nick1915 - all you want 08:38, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Schwallex can't rename "Rombik" to "Роман Беккер" because You have SUL activated. As You have no automatic creations we could delete SUL for You to allow the renaming. Please tell us if You wish that. Schwallex seems to do renames, I saw he did one yesterday, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 00:21, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sardur

Hi ! An account (http://fa.wikipedia.org/wiki/%DA%A9%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%A8%D8%B1:Sardur) which seems to have 0 edit, is interfering with SUL. The problem is that I can't understand a single word in that language. Help would be appreciated :-) Sardur 16:00, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The contributions for the three bureaucrats on fawp are: [1] [2] [3]. I couldn't work out what the dates meant, though, so no ideas if any of the three are "active". Daniel (talk) 05:49, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

From vi:User:Avia: I have tried to contact local bureaucrats, but sending email via [4] and [5] I got This user has not specified a valid e-mail address, or has chosen not to receive e-mail from other users. Via [6], I got error messages in local language, perhaps with the same meaning. 02:52, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Hm, I had no problems with the last one. I just sent him an email. I'll notify you if he answers. --Thogo (talk) 03:00, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nad

Hello. Please, delete global account Nad, which I own at present (verify). Although I reserved it for me two days ago, I discovered a conflict between me and a colleague, mediawiki software develper, who owns this this account on EN WP, Meta and MediaWiki (and maybe other projects as well). I got in contact with him, but he also wished to have this account for his SUL. I considered to allow him use it, so I ask to have it deleted in order to make the necessary preemptive usurpations. I would like to have my SUL as Nadina. I suppose that I will have to make separate local requests, but I will be thankful if you save me this effort and after deleting my global account, also usurp this account on the several local accounts where is was registered. On my userpage User:Nadina you will find a list of the accounts that have to be usurped. As you can see, for the 11 projects, only 3 contributions were made, minor ones, and only 1 of the accounts is accessible via email. I hope that both my requests will be considered, thank you :) --Nadina 11:31, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

deleted Global account, a steward will do the rest :)....--Cometstyles 11:35, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

El Comandante

Hello,

I can't create my global account. I received this message, when I tried to go to Special:MergeAccount :

The account "El Comandante" could not be automatically confirmed as belonging to you on the following sites; most likely they have a different password from your primary account:
  • de.wikipedia.org

I don't understand what is the problem because it seems that there is no account of this name in WP:DE. Can you explain me how can I create my global account?

Thanks.

El Comandante 13:43, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is no user page, but there is a registered account by that name (log) Nakon 20:01, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello El Comandante, the account on the german wikipedia has 0 Edits 0 Logentries, 0 deleted edits, so please ask a local crat by clicking here and filling out the info for a rename, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 00:26, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Arne Bacelle

Hello I appear to have two global accounts, one for the dutch wiki and one for the english and meta. Please delete these so I can make a new global with all three (and message me after, don't know how this works yet). thx already!

Please sign this request and give confirmation links (diff-links) from both accounts while logged in (saying somethink like "please delete my sul", thanks, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 23:19, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Manka

I would like to usurp en:User:Manka, but I have already started account merge. After that, I learned I need to delete the SUL account, have the account usurped, and remerge afterwards. So, could some steward delete the SUL account User:Manka, please? (This account on meta has been autocreated.) --Manka 20:00, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are aware the autocreated account could get lost (only probably being able to restore the password via passwordrecovery if You have specified a valid email). Do you nevertheless wish to get the global account deleted? Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 22:29, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Misc accounts to usurp

The following discussion is closed.

As a reminder, I am the guy with about 40 accounts created by a vandal (this vandal: Vandalism reports/BogaertB).

Further to this request, I know you do not make usurps on wikis with bureaucrats.

By the way, the usurpation was refused on the german WP because the vandal made 2 edits in december 2006! They put the request in some page for "possible future solution". I posted a follow up message on Help talk:Unified login, as I thought the suggestion Redux made was a good idea, and I think you should consider that.

But there is anyway something you can treat immediately: usurp on wikis without bureaucrats. So here is the list of accounts the vandal created. Could you please take care of the usurpation for all the wikis where there is no bureaucrat? I give you the whole list, including those accounts for wikis with bureaucrats.

Thanks. Bradipus 15:52, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note: except for the spanish account, all editions were made in 2006, most of them in a very short timespan on December 4, 2006, obviously to make sure the accounts would be considered as active.

We can't do anything if local crats deny the usurpation of the existing accounts, sorry, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 21:07, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I know, what I am asking is that you do it for the wikis without bureaucrat. I do not know which ones have bureaucrats, but I guess I will know it once you will have done the usurpation on those of which where you feel you may act. And then I will have to tour those wikis. Bradipus 21:21, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please list only wikis without a bureaucrat and provide a link to the automatic bureaucrat list Special:Listusers/bureaucrat on these wikis. --Thogo (talk) 21:29, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have overflown that list only and could not make out a wiki without crat, please let us know if we missed a wiki
You can use Template:Merging then, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 21:33, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. But now...what? I mean, what did you do exactly and what should I do? Did you undo the SUL? If you did I guess I should no "redo" it before all the usurpations are made. But then should I go to the wikis where the usurpation was made to recreate an account? Bradipus 21:49, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
We did not do anything. Right now the system of problem solving is quite time consuming and frustrating for users with that large lists. Right now You, if You want that, will have to ask on each wiki locally for a rename, if there are no or no active crats (check with Special:Listusers/bureaucrat) You can link us these wikis and we will do the renames if possible (depends on the contributions). Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 22:58, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, that is helpful. Great. Just great. I'm sick of this. Long live the vandals, they've won. Bradipus 23:20, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the communities know that SUL might happen for more than 2 years now, no one thought about discussing a policy or anything... You are not the only person with such problems now, we try to help as good as possible and do not badmouth about the workload, but if someone really wants to solve their sul problems, they have either to put work in there too (and not just lean back and upbraid around) or they have to wait until either for an automatic resolution or a community decision to make the process managable. Thanks. --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 23:38, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The SUL was supposed to imply a policy of usurpation based mainly on the biggest number of editions. I understand that did not work. Then why the heck did you launch that thing? And if by "put work in it" you mean repeating on 40 wikis what I experienced on WP:de, i.e. being refused to usurp an account created by a stalker who made 2 editions in 2006, no thank you. I could stand the fact that my name was owned by a vandal on more accounts than what I control myself as long as I had the SUL in perspective, although it did have an impact on me. But the SUL did not bring the solution, and I have to go through this... Nothing against you specifically, I am just fed up by this lack of support. Bradipus 05:52, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Besides that I did not launch it, SUL can't privide a policy if the communities do not think about one, where should it come from? And You have been provided with the information You need to resolve Your problem. I can't see a lack of help on this page. As said, it is also work for You, if You don't wish to do this, You don't have to. Wait for the automatic conflict resolution or a policy, there are now discussions going on about that. Thanks. --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 08:03, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You (spacebirdy) should not feel personally attacked when I mention the fact that you (collective "you" designing you and your colleagues managing technically this stuff) launched the SUL without sufficient preparation. But please stop saying I don't wish to "do this" (work to achieve usurpation) while usurpation is just simply refused by the local bureaucrats. I do not want to be uncivil, but while you do not see any lack of help on this page, I did not find, as far as I am concerned, any help on this page, as while I am confronted with multiple issues created by a vandal, I am not an inch closer to the solution now than before I posted here. Also I do not agree with your point of view on the responsibility of the communities: the communities had to be coordinated on this subject, and since I heard about the SUL more than 2 years ago, it was always to refer to a process where usurpations would be settled in a centralised way based on certain criteria (such as number of editions and account creation date - which is by the way the reason why I choose the name Bradipus instead of Bradypus who already existed). You do not need to answer this message, I will just stop loosing my time on this for the moment. Bradipus 22:16, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
