Request for CentralNotice banner
Hello. The Wikimedians of Colombia user group needs your kind help with a CentralNotice banner for colombian users.
The information is the following:
- link: http://wikimediacolombia.org/vacaciones/
- dates: from today (or the closest possible date) until January 31th, 2016
- logged-in and anonymous users
- only in CO (Colombia). Only in Spanish projects + Commons.
- text1: ¡Participa en Wikivacaciones 2015!
- text2: Gana premios saliendo de vacaciones por Colombia y ayudando al conocimiento libre.
- image: File:Wikivacaciones.png
Thanks in advance for the help! --Racso ¿¿¿??? 01:48, 4 December 2015 (UTC)
--Racso ¿¿¿??? 14:52, 4 December 2015 (UTC)
- Listo. Matiia (talk) 15:01, 4 December 2015 (UTC)
- Gracias por todo, @Matiia:. --Racso ¿¿¿??? 00:08, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
- No hay problema. :) Matiia (talk) 00:38, 6 December 2015 (UTC)

Add a new section for translation
Hi, I need to add a new section here with the sentence "payment slip". I am modifying the banner for Swiss fundraising and I suppose to don't have the admin rights to modify this page. --Ilario (talk) 23:27, 4 December 2015 (UTC)

Request for an anonnotice on frwiki
Hi,
Since June 2015, with the support of Wikimedia France we are a little group of experimented contributors creating a Mooc on frwiki. It aims to teach how to contribute to wikipedia and presents the backside of the community. All the work is available here if you want to take a look. We are currently recording the courses' videos, but the enrolment will start soon, the 14th of December and will stay open until the beginning of the course, mid-February.
We have already ask for the french community agreement on our Bistro, no one oppose. We would like to know if it will be possible to add an annonnotice some days during this period, to invite visitors to join those lessons? For example:
- from Monday the 14th (in the evening) to Sunday the 20th of December
- for unregistered users only
- on fr.wikipedia.org, regardless of the country
- we have made a first template, see fr:Projet:Aide_et_accueil/WikiMOOC/CentralNotice
Thanks in advance for the help! — 0x010C ~talk~ 13:59, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
- Please note that, in our template, there is not the definitive link; we will know it monday in the evening. Regards, Jules78120 (talk) 14:10, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
- The agreement mentioned is fr:Wikipédia:Le Bistro#Le_WikiMOOC.2C_c.27est_pour_bient.C3.B4t_.21? --Base (talk) 21:38, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Base: yes! There were only two answers, but no one oppose. (For the context: we previously talked to the community about the project and lot of Wikipedians follow us on Twitter, so community is globally aware of the project) Jules78120 (talk) 21:48, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
- I have created a draft campaign for the time being. Someone with better CSS than mine needs to improve the banner because now it sucks. --Base (talk) 23:11, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot, @Base:. Does anybody have CSS knowledge to center the text vertically and improve the

- The URL to use in the banner is this one: https://www.france-universite-numerique-mooc.fr/courses/WMFr/86001/session01/about. It will be accessible monday around 12:00 UTC. Jules78120 (talk) 15:06, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- URLs to third party websites are not allowed unless there is a notice informing the user about it. --Glaisher (talk) 17:21, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- Also why can't the local Anonnotice be used? --Glaisher (talk) 17:22, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Glaisher: Thank you for your answers. What is exactly "a notice informing the user about it"?
- And for local Anonnotice: we just have no technical skills in our group about sitenotices, and there is no help page about fr:MediaWiki:Anonnotice on frwiki. Can you explain us in a few words what the difference is with CentralNotice? Is it easier to use the local anonnotice, please? Jules78120 (talk) 18:47, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- Anonnotice is actually much easier for wikimedians to set, since is uses wikimarkup, not raw css/js/html as CentralNotice does (so for instance you can just transclude that template there). Here's basic info on site and anon notices: mw:Manual:Interface/Sitenotice. The disadvantage is that if there's also a cental notice set both banners will be shown (which considering the height of this year's fundraising banners may well end up being about 100% of height on small screens), while if it is done by central notice, central notices rotate. As to the notice about the link I believe something like "(third party's site)" or similar words clearly indicating that the link goes beyond Wikimedia sites should do. --Base (talk) 19:30, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Base: Thank you very much for your help. Two last questions (sorry): if I read correctly Special:CentralNotice, there are at least two banners on fr.wiki during the same period: one in Canada, and a second one in Switzerland? So maybe it's better to use CentralNotice in our case, to avoid two banners on a same screen for Canadians and Swiss?
- If we use CentralNotice, something like that is ok? (but very unsightly :/)

Request for Wikipedia Library Mass Message Announcing New Access Signups
Hi,
We'd like to globally announce new Wikipedia Library access signups, per our usual process of informing every community they are eligible for new publisher access. (I'd use my personal account's mass message rights but WMF wisely prohibits that for 'official business'.)
Can someone help please?
-Thank you!! Ocaasi (WMF) (talk) 01:01, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
