Outcome[edit]

For the outcome/feedback of the online conversation and training please see the feedback page

The in-person event held in two locations of the South-eastern region of Nigeria, namely, Enugu State and Anambra State. The event in Enugu was held under the IG Wiki Hub Enugu while the event in Anambra was held under the Ig Wiki Librarians Hub. Both hubs are arms of the Igbo Wikimedians User Group. During the events, participants were enlightened about Movement Strategy, Movement Charter and the need for language visibility. Trainings and instructions were given for attendees to understand how translations are done on Meta-Wiki which was different from the Wikipedia translations that most of them were used to. For most attendees, it was their first time to translate pages on Meta-Wiki and they appreciated the training and experience. Since most participants used smartphones, instructions were given to mobile phone users and laptop users for effective outcome.

During the translation timeline, more than 50 pages were translated to Igbo by attendees, other pages were not marked for translation. This will be communicated to the translation admins so that pages can be marked and translation can go on. For more information, kindly visit the Enugu and Awka in-person event subpages.
