Stewards needed for the enwp ArbCom elections

The following discussion is closed: English Wikipedia has actioned their requirements

The annual Arbitration Committee elections on the English Wikipedia are coming up, please see en:WP:ACE2013. A set of Stewards is needed as scrutineers to check that voters are eligible, count votes and perform other duties related to the mw:Extension:SecurePoll interface. Please see en:Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee Elections December 2013/Coordination/Instructions for scrutineers for more detailed information. It is prefered to have Stewards whose home wiki is not enwp and that did not participate in last year's elections (i.e. Stewards other than User:Pundit, User:Teles. Here's the update Thanks everybody. The selection of the Electoral Commission for the enwp ArbCom elections is in the process of being finalized by Jimbo in the next day or so (please see en:Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Arbitration Committee Elections December 2013/Electoral Commission). Shortly after that, I expect the Electoral Commission will be contacting the Stewards to start coordinating things. The timeline for the elections is listed at the top of en:Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Arbitration Committee Elections December 2013. Voting should be complete by 23:59 (UTC) on 8 December, whcih is when the Stewards will be able to finish scrutinizing the votes and certifying the election. Instructions for this scrutineering phase are listed at en:Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee Elections December 2013/Coordination/Instructions for scrutineers. Coordination with the Electoral Commission is happening on enwp at en:Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee Elections December 2013/Coordination. When there is no need for so many people, I'm also fine to not do the job this year. It was just an offer, nothing more. If I have enough time I can do it next year. Just take three or four of us instead of all. -Barras talk 09:10, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

'templateeditor' right for global editinterface

Hello, could a steward please add the 'templateeditor' right to the global editinterface group? enwp has a new protection level, which means that while editinterface editors can edit sysop protected pages and MediaWiki: pages, they can't edit a lower level of protection, which is stupid. gerrit:94051 has been deployed, so this should be possible now. Major VisualEditor rollout in the wings

I'm going to link to Whatamidoing's more detailed post, but the short version is that VE will be rolled out to a large number of smaller Wikipedias (detailed list at MediaWiki) next Monday. Although we don't expect it to result in anything that will require your skills, I thought I'd leave you folks a note for information's sake. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
