Actually, this image was taken from the official website of Bibliotheca Alexandrina and all images on that site, according to what a member of the BA said when we were preparing for Alexandria bid are public domain. I have already requested from a BA staffer to send an e-mail to OTRS to confirm the copyright status of the image. I have no problem in deleting the Meta version, though. Wiktionary Masr name

I replied to your comment on the talk page but thought of letting you know here on your tak page ; I am looking forward to your contributions on both projects.

When I proposed the Masry wikipedia I used the English name Egyptian Arabic so anyone who will read it will know which language I am talking about , Yet most of the Time it was mentioned as Wikipedia Masry and the name Masry became more known in the Meta community ,When I proposed this wiktionary project I put Masry as it is the Native name not the English name , If you notice on Egyptian Arabic wikipedia it is Written Wikipedia Masry, that is why I proposed it in the name that is going to be used not the English name that is not used much on the wikipedia or the wiktionary.

er, bad call in saying "bad call"... people frequently say "remove my rights" on their local pages and the actions are still carried out. I don't see how Meno was in the wrong here. The person in conflict with Scarian should not have made the posting, but the fact of the matter is that the request was done because of what the person said on their user page — not what was said on SR/P. Need someone familiar with right-to-left language issues

First, does the tweaked version viewable in the "pruebita" link work for you? And second, I believe this needs a looking at by someone experienced in building web pages with a mix of left-to-right and right-to-left text. Glad you like ;) and thanks for hooking me up with the others. I've just done the dir="ltr" tweak on my ar:wp user page and it looks better (to me). I've also got tweaks in the queue for most of the other portals; stuff that's not synced yet.

MZMcBride's script @pruebita works for other pages, too;

Requests for crosswiki page creations

Hello Mohammed. You proposed my bot create Main page (request), Template:Delete (request), and Category:Candidates for speedy deletion (request) on all wikis, but I think there should be some kind of community consensus to do these. The bot normally has the explicit permission of the users whose pages it edits, but these requests are different. They would involve creating community pages that may be redundant to existing local pages; this has led to more than one crosswiki dispute in the past.

Your input needed for strategic planning process

Hi, as you may know Wikimeida is in the midst of its strategic planning process (see http://strategy.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page for more information). As part of this process, I have been developing a fact base Middle East and North African languages and their Wikipedias. The purpose of this fact base is to help the Wikimedia community understand the importance of these languages as they develop strategies to expand the reach of Wikimedia worldwide as well as to discuss the specific barriers to growth of these language projects. As an active editor of the Arabic language Wikipedia I would really appreciate it if you took some time to look at what I've put together and make any changes or additions that you thought were appropriate. It would be especially great if you had some thoughts or ideas to add to the section on barriers to growth of the Arabic language Wikipedia. I want to make sure that we have the most accurate information possible to inform the strategic plan as it is developed. Translator, We need you!

Dear Meno25,

You have helped us in previous years with translations and for that we are most grateful. Now we turn towards the 2011/12 fundraiser. It may seem forever away, but work has already begun getting everything ready to go. This year we want to have landing pages covering as many countries in as many languages as possible.

Right now, we want to figure out who is interested in translating for the fundraiser. This year we're hoping to have more of a solidified "core" group of translators that we can count on to have work done by a few key dates, but we'd also welcome help from people who are willing to just help out when they can.

Wikipedia logo derivations

Hiya. I was trying to find info on how to obtain permission for derivative images of the Wikipedia logo. I found here an image with similar levels of change I was interested in making (the logo is wearing a new shell). I checked and found that you had added a copyright notice to the file but not deleted it. Does this mean that the file can be used and is allowed/acceptable?

Basically what I am asking is: May I create a derivative of the Wikipedia logo for use on Wikipedia? If only with permission; where does one ask for the permission needed?

Is it allowed in Wikipedia?

To keep in the pages of wiki Administrator's personnel thesis? at http://sd.wikipedia.org ? Other problem is We call Computer as same in English, but admin forcibly used his word Ganpukar of Computer. I have proof that thousands of published books called it Computer not Ganpukar. If some one oppose him he started abusive language. That is the reason sd.wikipedia.org never got attraction to Sindhi community. Plz check record there. Other things are he locked CSS due to that on the same site there are lot of font styles appeared there. He is not able to set commonCSS or Monocss. We are in trouble to work in our local Sindhi language. I don't know where to say for this problem. Record history says all the situation there. I appeal plz warn him to follow en.wikipedia.org rules, other wise he will continue use his personnel details and personnel promoted articles there.
