Happy Bengali New Year

[edit]

Thank you for introducing me to the art, culture, history, and society of Dhaka. You are very thoughtful in anticipating my interests and curiosity and you always seemed to answer any question I had more completely to my desire than I ever was able to ask in my own words. I felt fortunate to have been able to see the shows and places where we went and very lucky that I had you with me to explain things because you knew what I wanted.

I apologize for falling out of touch. Happy Bengali New Year. I see on the roster that you are going to Milan for the Wikimedia Conference, and I hope that while you are there you accomplish what you intend to do. Let's chat soon and not fall out of touch. If there were some way to make a partnership between Wikipedians and information activists in the United States and Bangladesh then I would like to help organize that. Blue Rasberry (talk) 14:07, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

I am sorry, I just noticed your message today. And Happy Bengali New Year to you, too. It was very unfortunate that neither of me nor Tanvir could make it to Milan. The Embassy of Italy in Dhaka had denied our Visa applications at the 11th hour, in spite of trying everything possible. :(
Anyways, It was a delightful time when I had the honor to give some idea about the people of this part of the world. The pleasure was mine.
Definitely it will be a nice experience to work together. I will look forward to it. Tarunno (talk) 19:55, 24 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

We hope to hear from you!

Warm regards,

Get started with the Lua interface to simplify the preparation of modules for translation in MetaWiki

[edit]

Greetings!

The Language and Product Localization team has developed a Lua interface to simplify the preparation of Lua modules for translation in the MetaWiki platform. This means that module developers can now use the new Lua interface to load translatable strings, and the translators can translate them in the same translation interface that is used for templates and wiki pages.

This improvement makes it easier for translators to find and edit module strings without dealing with raw Lua code. It helps prevent mistakes that could break the module during translation.

We invite you to watch our demo video and read more about translatable modules to understand how it works. Please give us your feedback on this talk page on how well the Lua interface addresses the challenges in your workflow and how useful it is in module localization tasks. You can also refer to Module:User Wikimedia project, which was recently converted to utilize these messages, for example usage.

Your feedback is important as it will help us evaluate and decide how to continue developing and improving this interface, extend it to other wikis, or change our approach.

Thank you, and we anticipate your honest feedback.
