NIOSH

  • "The Secret Origins of NIOSH"—Next year NIOSH celebrates the 50th anniversary of its organizational standup in May 1971. However, NIOSH's direct predecessor has a little-known history that stretches all the way back to 1914, zig-zagging its way through the growth and maturation of the U.S. Public Health Service. This edit-a-thon will include a presentation on this history, and have suggested articles on biographies and historic buildings related to public health and industrial hygiene in the early and mid-20th century.
