We follow the rules of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This is in a compulsory advice regarding the transmission of your data.
Visit https://wikimedia.de/en/imprint to learn more about how we process and use the data submitted within the event registration form.

In the organization of the Wikimedia Summit, the Wikimedia Foundation ("WMF" Wikimedia Foundation, Inc., 1 Montgomery Street Suite 1600, San Francisco, CA 94104), based in the USA, will provide services in individual sub-areas, in particular the implementation of "Training of Trainers" and travel booking for participants of Group 3 (representatives of the WMF Board of Trustees, FDC, sAPG Committee, AffCom, and WMF Staff).

If you wish to make use of one of these services, your personal data required for this purpose will be disclosed to WMF in the USA and processed there by WMF to permit your participation or travel booking. In addition, since the Wikimedia Summit is funded by WMF, it is necessary to provide personal data to WMF about your participation (e.g. contact data, passport data, travel and accommodation data, visa information, event and supply preferences as well as billing information) for the purpose of billing the event.

Disclosures are required to organize the Wikimedia Summit and to ensure your participation in it. They are accordingly based in each case on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR. The USA is a so-called "third country" outside the European Union. Its level of legal protection in the processing of personal data is not equivalent to that of the EU. Therefore, no guarantee can be given that your data will be protected as fully as in the European Union or that you will have the same rights with regard to its processing. If you withhold your consent, we will unfortunately not be able to allow you to participate in the event.
