This page is for requests to have stewards grant or revoke administrator, bureaucrat, checkuser, and oversight rights on Wikimedia projects which do not have a local permissions procedure.

Old sections are archived. The list of archives is below.

 • Requests for bot flags are handled at SRB, and requests for global permissions are handled at SRGP.
 • If you are requesting adminship or bureaucratship, and your wiki has a local bureaucrat, submit your request to that user or to the relevant local request page (index).
 • For urgent requests, such as to combat large-scale vandalism on a small wiki, contact a steward in the #wikimedia-stewardsconnect IRC channel. In emergencies, type !steward in the channel to get the attention of stewards. Otherwise, you can type @steward for non-urgent help.

Other than requests to remove your own access or emergencies, please only make requests here after gaining the on-wiki approval of your local community.

Using this page

1. Place the following code at the bottom of the appropriate section below:

Username@xxproject
(your remarks) ~~~~

2. Fill in the values:

 • domain: the wiki's URL domain (like "ex.wikipedia" or "meta.wikimedia").
 • user name: the name of the user whose rights are to be changed (like "Exampleuser"). In case you're requesting access for multiple bots, leave this field blank and give a list of these bots in your remarks
 • discussion: a link to the local vote or discussion about the rights change (for example, "ex:Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship#ExampleUser"). This should normally be for at least one week, but no more than three weeks (if so, you'll need to restart the process).

3. If anything is missing from your request, a steward will request more information.

Confirmation of signing confidentiality agreement

Certain permissions (notably CheckUser and Oversight) additionally require users to sign a confidentiality agreement. Users requesting these permissions must make a request below, and must also sign the confidentiality agreement with the Wikimedia Foundation. The request is placed on hold temporarily, until the receipt has been formally confirmed by the Office.

Administrator access

Steward requests/Permissions/Sysop-header

rahuldeshmukh101@mrwikisource

As I am already having temp admin rights on mr.wikisource and my temporary rights are going to expire on 11 May 2012. Please grant me an extension so that I can continue my admin work. Very soon I will get community approval for the same. I am already admin on mr.wikipedia. Thanks

Rahuldeshmukh101 (talk) 09:12, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

On hold Please tell us when your local discussion is closed and we will extend your sysop rights at this moment. I'm going to leave a note so other stewards won't remove your rights until this request is closed. Regards, -- Quentinv57 (talk) 09:21, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think one month time is ok. Thanks Rahuldeshmukh101 (talk) 13:46, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Please file a request for extension locally and link it here. Snowolf How can I help? 14:03, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Actually on second thought, it's been two weeks, so I'm removing the +sysop flag, as you had the opportunity to see Quentin's request to file a request locally. Feel free to file a new request at any time. Snowolf How can I help? 14:05, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

शंतनू@mrwikisource

Note : This section won't be automatically archived by the bot

I had temporary right which expired. As per request by User:Trijnstel, waited for the discussion before putting request over here. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by शंतनू (talk) 21:48, 13 May 2012‎

Done Granted for 6 months to expire on 2012-11-13. To prolong your (interface) adminship, please start another election a few days before your temporary access expires, and after a week post your request again to this page. Thanks. -- Trijnsteltalk 22:18, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
On hold for some time because of this complaint. Trijnsteltalk 10:11, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not done as the discussion above even lacks signature and the complaint seems unresolved.--Jusjih (talk) 07:49, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Rights removed. Trijnsteltalk 11:06, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Why on earth were the rights removed? Snowolf How can I help? 13:02, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
To expand on that, the users didn't voice any opposition at all on mrwikisource, vaguely referred to "we discussed this on mrwiki". This is clearly not a valid complaint, and to remove +sysop from a user based on some vague complaints about their activity on a different wiki is ridicolous. I ask that the rights be reinstated until such time as the complaints have some substance. Snowolf How can I help? 13:04, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I prefer not to continue with adding and removing admin rights, so I'd like to do it well now. What do you advice me? Trijnsteltalk 20:11, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Seriously, if you take a closer look to the two users who complained, you will see that they are likely to be socks of the troll group attacking sysops at mrwiki. Just read again the messages on Trijnstel's user talk page, where शंतनू is qualified of most unwanted person or a lier (he has given wrong information to you). Plus this is totally unfounded : what's the wrong informations he has given to Trijnstel ? That's simply attacking without any proof ! That's why, when Trijnstel asked him to provide some evidence of what he's saying, no answer came. Then, an other one appears, saying that the sysop is not experienced enough. Easy to say when you don't even have an account on the concerned project... All this makes me think that this user belongs to the trolls attacking sysops at mrwiki. That's not because of such an unfounded attack that we should remove the sysop rights of a user. Did somebody find any abuse when checking the sysop operations this user has done ? -- Quentinv57 (talk) 10:08, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm re-granting the user the +sysop flag. I stand by my assessment that unfounded allegations without any evidence are not basis for removal of +sysop, despite what Jusjih said above. They might be grounds for discussion on the local wiki tho. The user has never ever received a complaint on his talk page, as such any allegations are baseless if they do not even engage the user in discussions. Snowolf How can I help? 13:49, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done Granted for 6 months to expire on 2012-11-26. To prolong your (interface) adminship, please start another election a few days before your temporary access expires, and after a week post your request again to this page. Thanks.. My apologies for the removal. Snowolf How can I help? 13:50, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Игорь Бродский@vep.wikipedia

Hello. I'm temporary administrator of Veps Wikipedia now, but my administrator access ends in these days. Unfortunately I haven't opportunity to work in this project today. I think stewards, who read it, can give amin flag for user Игорь Бродский. This user has a native speaking and understanding of Veps, he is a director in the St.Petersburg Veps Society, active MediaWiki translator. Also he has knowledge of Wikimedia rules. Thank you (and sorry for my English)! --Igriks (talk) 19:50, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please make a local request first, either by you or User:Игорь_Бродский. Thanks. Bencmq (talk) 04:48, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done --Igriks (talk) 13:21, 18 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
 On hold until 25 May. Trijnsteltalk 11:05, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've asked the user to signal their acceptance of this as he hasn't done so yet :) Otherwise, I suggest granting it for 6 months given the wide support, (not enough local users for permanent tho). Snowolf How can I help? 14:00, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

DzWiki@bs.wikisource

(I would like to have admin rights on bs.wikisource, if possible.
Reason: I want to remove or change some "mediawiki-messages" and change some protected pages.) DzWiki (talk) 17:01, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please file a local discussion on the correct noticeboard, such as the Village Pump/Bar/Admin's noticeboard, if there is not a specific page. Snowolf How can I help? 14:11, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mehdi@mznwikipedia

I had a request for administrator access in mzn.wikipedia and Other members were supportive of me. And discussion finished today! MehdiTalk 09:32, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Snowolf How can I help? 13:16, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks alot dear Snowolf! sincerely:--MehdiTalk 13:19, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dark Eagle@ltgwikipedia

Still no voted bureaucrats --Dark Eagle (talk) 13:31, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Did you put a local request for adminship ? -- Quentinv57 (talk) 13:46, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bureaucrat access

Steward requests/Permissions/Crat-header

CheckUser access

Steward requests/Permissions/CU-header

Oversight access

To request to have content oversighted, ask in #wikimedia-stewards, or email oversight-en-wp@wikipedia.org for requests regarding English Wikipedia. This is the place to request Oversight access. Note that temporary Oversight access is not permitted and the temporary status is only used by Stewards.

Stewards
Do not grant Oversight access unless the user is identified to the foundation, which will be announced on the Identification noticeboard. When you give someone oversight access, list them on Oversight.

Removal of access

<translate>

 • If you're requesting the removal of your own permissions, make sure you're logged in to your account. If you have multiple flags, specify which you want removed. Stewards may delay your request a short time to ensure you have time to rethink your request (see previous discussion on 24 hour delays); the rights will not be restored by stewards once they are removed.
 • To request the removal of another user's permissions, you must gain consensus on the local wiki first. When there is community consensus that the user's access should be removed, provide a link to the discussion, with a brief explanation of the reason for the request, and summarize the results of discussion. However, as bureaucrats of some wikis may remove users from the administrator or bureaucrat group, please see also a separate list of these specific wikis.
 • To request the removal of another user's permissions for inactivity, link to your local inactivity policy. If your site does not have inactivity policy, the global policy Admin activity review applies.
 • See the instructions above for adding new requests. Please post new requests at the bottom of the section.</translate>

Aventicum@nl.wikiquote

Note : This section won't be automatically archived by the bot

Aventicum has not been active on nl.wikiquote since April 5, 2012, when he shortly returned from a yearlong absence. We have tried to contact him several times after that without response. An official proposal was launched in q:nl:Wikiquote:De kantine on May 7, 2012 to end his moderator/bureaucrat-status. There 3 votes for and none against. Again no response from Aventicum himself. Whaledad (talk) 18:00, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done; please thank him for his work. PeterSymonds (talk) 18:22, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but you have acted prematurely. A proper demod procedure has not been followed on this wiki, nor based on any accepted policy (there is no inactivity rule on this wiki), the persons involved were not notified per email function there was a procedure going-on. A decision by 3 persons is not a decision. People involved can hardly be described as Wikiquodians and have a history of troubles on Wikipedia. I ask a steward to reverse this action Aventicum (talk) 20:11, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(answered as a regular user, not as a steward) I think I have to agree with this. Walter (another admin on nl.wikiquote) was just as inactive as Aventicum - even more! - and he wasn't even informed about a possible removal. To me it looks like they want to "get rid of" Aventicum there, see also this response of mine. Trijnsteltalk 20:15, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not done I restored Aventicum's flag since a "not so active" sysop cannot damage a project. Please make a better and longer procedure and then (if necessary) ask for tool removal again. --Vituzzu (talk) 13:52, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, but you have not restored the bureaucrate flag. Aventicum (talk) 20:43, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The restore should be handled by local 'crats, given there are active 'crats on the wiki. Both the admin bit and the crat bit. Snowolf How can I help? 21:07, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ral315@en.wikipedia

I am mostly inactive, and would like to voluntarily resign the tools for now. Thanks. --Ral315 (talk) 13:47, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Under enwiki's policy, stewards can still carry out voluntary removals when requested, and Ral315's request isn't a ragequit, so I endorse the request, but will leave it for a non-enwiki steward to perform. Snowolf How can I help? 13:48, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Has been done. Thanks for your work. —Marco Aurelio (audiencia) 13:51, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nixón@eswiki
