Requests for global (un)block

<translate>

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:

Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions.
Please also review Global blocking .
Global blocks don't affect Meta-Wiki, so if your IP address or account is blocked, you can still appeal here. IP addresses or accounts that cause disruption on Meta should be reported at [[<tvar name=rfh>Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat</tvar>|Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat]] instead of here so that they can be blocked locally.</translate>
<translate> Please describe the kind of cross wiki abusive activity you see from the IP or account. Saying an IP or account is a long term abuser is not helpful, but saying "IP vandalizes at ban.wikipedia, no.wikipedia and vi.wikipedia" is. This is especially important for range blocks. If you do not provide enough details, your request might be declined.</translate>
<translate> Instructions for making a request</translate>

<translate> Before requesting, make sure that:

  1. You know the IP address(es) or accounts you wish to have globally blocked or unblocked.
  2. For blocks, the global blocking criteria are met.
  3. For unblocks, your request addresses the original reason for blocking the IP or account, if any.

To make a request for the address(es) or account(s) to be blocked or unblocked

Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain why the address(es) or account(s) should be blocked/unblocked.</translate>
=== Global block/unblock for <translate><!--T:5--> [[Special:Contributions/Some IP address or account|Some IP address or account]]</translate> ===
{{Status}} <!-- Do not remove this template -->
* {{Luxotool|<translate><!--T:6--> IP address</translate>}}
<translate><!--T:7--> Description, evidence, diffs, etc.</translate> --~~~~

When requesting that your IP be unblocked, note that stewards need to know your IP address to even consider a request.
To find your IP, please visit <tvar name=whatismyip>https://www.whatismyip.com/</tvar>
You are not required to disclose your IP in public - you may make requests privately to any steward on <tvar name=IRC>IRC</tvar> or by email at: <tvar name=address>stewards@wikimedia.org</tvar></translate>

Global unblock for 50.16.230.151

Status:    complete

This is the IP address of my AWS EC2 instance. I use this server as the endpoint of a SOCKS5-over-SSH tunnel to encrypt network traffic when using public wifi networks It is an AWS elastic IP assigned to my account, but is being caught up in the general AWS block: "Cross-wiki spam: Amazon Web Services - Service has been used for trojan/spam attacks - Little or no good edits." Also e-mailing info@wikimedia.org, per instructions on block message. --DataGazetteer (talk) 20:12, 25 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

I can grant you an IP block exemption on EnWiki, where you mainly edit. Ruslik (talk) 05:24, 26 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Yes, please -- that would be great. Thank you. 50.16.230.151 11:25, 26 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
If you have a global account, we could grant it an IP exemption. — billinghurst sDrewth 11:30, 26 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
I just followed the appropriate link to activate my SUL across all of the wikimedia projects. DataGazetteer (talk) 11:41, 26 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Global block for Kurt4 and Francesds!

Status:    Not done

I request to unblock my old user Kurt4 or his "successor" Francesds, globally blocked by User:Vituzzu, admin wiki it. Vituzzu has had a conflict with me in italian wikipedia. he accused me to use false sources but I demonstrated I had reason. I had edited an article concerning an italian professor (it's not my former professor, there were no vandalism or diffamation but this professor had done some pressions on wiki.it admins cause he diden't like some of my edits. Two preminent other italian professors has confirmed my version and writed to it.wikipedia for protesting for this abuse. There is a discussion in progress. I hope we can discuss calmy and I can work without problems. You can read italian and you can verify the quality of texts in my sandbox. Furthermore vituzzu has vandalised many times my sandbox, he publish a false advise in my user page (See http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Francesds&action=history) and each time he delete the texts and he request to delete it. Can you at least send him an advise for stopping this? ----37.183.24.194 15:48, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Not done having reviewed the issue given I received a request about this on my talk page, I decline this unblock and ask you to move to another avenue, different from Wikimedia's projects. You have violated our policies by creating a massive number of sockpuppets and then evading thru various sets of dynamic IPs. You have shown that you do not care one bit for our rules, in fact, there could hardly be anything more that you could do to show your absolute disregard for them. I would ask you that you move your activities to some other place, be it in life or on the internet, but outside of Wikimedia Foundation projects. Regardless of the underlying conduct, this would be enough for us never to welcome you back I feel. Your edits on itwiki that you have continued to make way after the project blocked several of your accounts were absolutely unsourced and extremely negative and bizarre towards the subject of the biographic articles you edited. tl;dr: you are not welcome anywhere on Wikimedia's projects, move on to something else. Snowolf How can I help? 17:34, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
do you understand or you can read italian ? you speaks and you judge about my edits on it.wiki. I would like to know if u are able to read italian. If not, you can't judge and Vituzzu has not a NPOV and he's in bad faith ! another question: you say I'm not welcome. Are you the mnaster of wikipedia? By the way, I have entered in your house? I thought it was a free encyclopedia... In every case I'm not so interested to this project but I read many articles full of mistakes and I contributed just to improve some article whose I was a specialist. You're proficient in english, I suppose, you can verify the quality of my edits on english wikipedia (have you done it?). but not in italian and you don't know the matter. Concerning the SP I repeat: I have used them only to edit my sandbox --Bartfonz (talk) 20:28, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Requests for global (un)lock and (un)hiding

Be sure to follow the instructions below:
  • Your request might be rejected if it doesn't include the necessary information.
  • Warning! This page is publicly viewable. If the account name is grossly insulting or contains personal information please contact a steward privately in #wikimedia-stewardsconnect or email your request to the stewards VRT queue at stewards-oversight@wikimedia.org (direct wiki interface) but do not post it here. Thanks.
  • Warning! This is not the place to ask for locks based on your opinion that someone is disruptive. Global locks are used exclusively against vandalism and spam, not because of content disputes, not because you think that someone deserves to be globally blocked. In such cases, you should ask for local blocks at appropriate places.
  • If you are globally locked, you should appeal your lock to stewards-appeals@wikimedia.org.

Please describe abusive activity of an account before reporting them here. Since stewards are often not active at projects the reported accounts are, things that seem obvious to you may not be equally obvious to the reviewing steward.

Instructions for making a request

Before requesting that a global account be (un)locked, please be sure that:

  1. You have evidence of cross-wiki disruption from the account(s).
  2. You can show that it is not feasible to use local-only blocks or other measures like page protection to combat the disruption.
  3. You have considered making the request in #wikimedia-stewardsconnect, especially for account names which will be hidden, or for urgent requests.
To make a request for an account to be locked or unlocked
Copy one of the codes below to the bottom of this section and explain why the account(s) should be locked/unlocked.
=== Global lock/unlock for Foo ===
{{status}} <!-- do not remove this template -->
* {{LockHide|username}}
* {{LockHide|username|hidename=1}} <!-- if you do not want the name to be visible on this page -->
*...
Reasons, etc. --~~~~

For many accounts:

=== Global lock for spambots/vandals ===
{{status}} <!-- do not remove this template -->
{{MultiLock|username|username2|username3}}
{{MultiLock|username|username2|username3|hidename=1}} <!-- if you do not want the names to be visible on this page -->
*...
Reasons, etc, --~~~~
