This page is for requests to have stewards grant or revoke administrator, bureaucrat, checkuser, and oversight rights on Wikimedia projects which do not have a local permissions procedure.

Old sections are archived. The list of archives is below.

 • Requests for bot flags are handled at SRB, and requests for global permissions are handled at SRGP.
 • If you are requesting adminship or bureaucratship, and your wiki has a local bureaucrat, submit your request to that user or to the relevant local request page (index).
 • For urgent requests, such as to combat large-scale vandalism on a small wiki, contact a steward in the #wikimedia-stewardsconnect IRC channel. In emergencies, type !steward in the channel to get the attention of stewards. Otherwise, you can type @steward for non-urgent help.

Other than requests to remove your own access or emergencies, please only make requests here after gaining the on-wiki approval of your local community.

Using this page

1. Place the following code at the bottom of the appropriate section below:

Username@xxproject
(your remarks) ~~~~

2. Fill in the values:

 • domain: the wiki's URL domain (like "ex.wikipedia" or "meta.wikimedia").
 • user name: the name of the user whose rights are to be changed (like "Exampleuser"). In case you're requesting access for multiple bots, leave this field blank and give a list of these bots in your remarks
 • discussion: a link to the local vote or discussion about the rights change (for example, "ex:Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship#ExampleUser"). This should normally be for at least one week, but no more than three weeks (if so, you'll need to restart the process).

3. If anything is missing from your request, a steward will request more information.

Confirmation of signing confidentiality agreement

Certain permissions (notably CheckUser and Oversight) additionally require users to sign a confidentiality agreement. Users requesting these permissions must make a request below, and must also sign the confidentiality agreement with the Wikimedia Foundation. The request is placed on hold temporarily, until the receipt has been formally confirmed by the Office.

Sahaquiel9102@eo.wikinews.org

My temporary adminship is going to expire but this time I ask for a bureaucrat access because we need to accept a robot, and only bureaucrats can give the permission. However, if I can't be bureaucrat I ask an extension for my adminship or a permanent one --Sahaquiel9102 (talk) 17:27, 27 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Stewards will grant bot flags following a discussion at the local community, so there isn't a need for a local bureaucrat solely for this purpose. We won't grant local bureaucrat rights to a community that has no permanent admins I'm afraid QuiteUnusual (talk) 20:02, 27 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I'll request a bot flag later. So, what about the adminiship? Can it be extended? --Sahaquiel9102 (talk) 01:58, 31 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Done Granted for 6 months to expire on 2014-04-31. -- QuiteUnusual (talk) 08:41, 31 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Gikü@ro.wikisource.org

The only three admins on this wiki are inactive. I'm a sysop on rowiki for 5 years and I can help keeping this wiki clean. Thanks. Gikü (talk) 06:53, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your offer to help. Please start a local discussion. After 7 days we will consider granting either temporary or permanent admin rights. QuiteUnusual (talk) 08:25, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Local discussion on Wikipedia, I believe? Wikisource is lacking active contribuitors. --Gikü (talk) 11:29, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No, on Wikisource. If there are no contributors then there will be no discussion and we will (probably) grant you temporary admin rights based on your good record on Wikipedia. If there is some discussion, all the better - QuiteUnusual (talk) 12:22, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've started a discussion and I've notified rowiki community. Thanks. --Gikü (talk) 13:47, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

AmaryllisGardener@scowikipedia

Removal of access

<translate>

 • If you're requesting the removal of your own permissions, make sure you're logged in to your account. If you have multiple flags, specify which you want removed. Stewards may delay your request a short time to ensure you have time to rethink your request (see previous discussion on 24 hour delays); the rights will not be restored by stewards once they are removed.
 • To request the removal of another user's permissions, you must gain consensus on the local wiki first. When there is community consensus that the user's access should be removed, provide a link to the discussion, with a brief explanation of the reason for the request, and summarize the results of discussion. However, as bureaucrats of some wikis may remove users from the administrator or bureaucrat group, please see also a separate list of these specific wikis.
 • To request the removal of another user's permissions for inactivity, link to your local inactivity policy. If your site does not have inactivity policy, the global policy Admin activity review applies.
 • See the instructions above for adding new requests. Please post new requests at the bottom of the section.</translate>

Hercule@wuu.wikipedia

7 supports from autoconfirmed users between July 27 and August 29. --GZWDer (talk) 10:21, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that amongst those, in at least 4 cases the account was created specifically for the vote (noted by an IP on the page, confirmed myself for 守望者爱孟, Coolmanjackey , Fayhoo , JuneAugust). DarkoNeko (talk) 11:39, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
On hold pending an investigation into abuse of process (e.g., sockpuppets) and for the RfC to run its course QuiteUnusual (talk) 13:16, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Check completed. CheckUser evidence suggests the accounts are unrelated and therefore there is no evidence of sock puppetery vote stacking or other abuse. QuiteUnusual (talk) 23:45, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lymantria@nl.wikipedia

Please remove my sysop access from nl.wikipedia. Twelve days ago I posted a similar request, but withdrew it because some collegues on nl-wiki convinced me to. Since then, the negativity on nl-wiki has not been removed as much as I hoped for and there is still too much distrust. That does not feel good and makes me sad. In addition since last summer my job has become really busy with only little time (compared to before) to spend on nl-wikipedia. By this I feel that I have become too distant to take the responsabilities I think I have to or want to take on nl-wiki. I hope to refind my pleasure as a normal user and to remove the sadness I feel now. Kind regards, Lymantria (talk) 17:35, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm really, really sad about this request :-( You are a great colleague to work with in the vandalism channel and I really hope you can decide not to do this, and go on a wikibreak instead so you can come back and work on nl-wiki again as you did before... Best regards, — TBloemink talk 17:42, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

MADe@nl.wikipedia

According to the local rules, administrators on the Dutch Wikipedia are required to have at least a 75% support rate. A desysop procedure against MADe (see here) resulted in him having a support rate of only 68,47%. Please remove his sysop access accordingly. Mathonius (talk) 16:39, 31 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Annabel@nlwiki

Please remove my sysop flag on the Dutch wikipedia. On the one hand trolls and POV-crusaders are protected. On the other hand an incompetent arbcom does not see the importance of trust and continues to treat me (and other admins aiming neutrality and high quality article standards) in a biased unfair way and hence my good name has become damaged. As a result I fail to feel any more responsibility in this unsafe environment to continue volunteering responsibly without proper protection. There is life beyond wiki, so thanks for your efforts. Annabel (talk) 19:50, 1 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Pecalux@lbwiki

On the page for candidatures for administrator-status on lb-wikipedia User:Pecalux informed the local community on 28th October 2013 of his wish to have no longer administrator status on lb-wikipedia. He stated that he could no longer identify himself with other administrators and therefor he would prefer to 'throw in the towel' concerning his administrator-status. Moreover he changed with this edit his userpage that way that he deleted there the reference to his administrator-status. So consequently I guess nothing prevents to take the logical consequence of removing the sysop flag from lb:user:Pecalux. Thanks in advance for your efforts on this --Robby (talk) 22:34, 1 November 2013 (UTC) (Bureaucrat on lb-wikipedia)[reply]

Swedish Wikipedia

On the Swedish Wikipedia all admins/bureaucrats/CU/OS are elected for one year at a time, see the policy document. There exists a possibility to be reelected, but some users choose not to apply for another period. To get reelected at least 75 percent support is required. --MagnusA (talk) 11:29, 2 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
