Report and discuss cross-wiki spam

Hi, welcome to the talk page of the antispam project!

Information we need to investigate promotional spam:

• a list of the accounts involved in cross-wiki spam
• the reasons you think there's cross-wiki spam, e.g. single-purpose accounts coordinating on closely related topics which don't meet notability guidelines and/or contain highly promotional content
• have there been past community discussions on local projects? Have sockpuppet investigations been conducted?

We can investigate on other wikis, find new sockpuppets or suspicious edits and find new data to get the bigger picture. When a case is solved, we can inform local communities to ask for help with cleanup (e.g. by deleting pages or systematically removing promotional material).

We also keep an archive of past cases to keep track of and minor cases and internal matters.

Report a new case

SpBot archives all sections tagged with {{Section resolved|1=~~~~}} after 7 days and sections whose most recent comment is older than 30 days.

UPE spam across many Wikipedia languages

There have been many spam article creations for Mirud by user @Pulseoraus who is now blocked after ANI after it was discovered he used AI and lied that he hasn’t. He created a page about Mirud’s Album ‘Desnudo’ and started a spree on AI generated articles for him on many other language Wikipedia projects, there was no UPE. The reason i highly suspect is that there was this similar spam pattern followed by the user @Ilovepopandculture who was later blocked after a checkuser, close connected with another user (globally banned) @Aaaddiil who created the original page for Mirud who was blocked seemingly due to draftifying Mirud’s page but it should be noted that the same person connected to him initially made many of his other language pages using the user account @Ilovepopandculture and later the singer Mirud behind a user account claimed that there was some kind of off-wiki extortion attempt which was only reported after the page was draftified by User Aaaddiil and notably not when those were getting published almost on a daily basis, suspecting there was a disagreement between the two and the spam spree seemingly stopped until the page was draftified on a clear UPE attempt maybe involving money but treated as off-wiki extortion. I request you to a very close look at this whole matter and do what’s best for Wikipedia and it’s guidelines that clearly prevent such spam and UPE attempts. @NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh Can you check this concern that Mirud was seemingly unbothered while his page were getting created by @Ilovepopandculture which was suspectedly operated by @Aaaddiil and it was only when his English Wikipedia was draftified that he reached out to ANI and ARBCom and alleged that he was being extorted off-wiki, im completely suspecting that this @Pulseoraus was either being operated as UPE account by Mirud himself or paid by him to continue his spree of other language Wikipedia pages as i suspect his UPE relationship with @Aaaddiil came to an end after Mirud reported for Extortion following his page getting draftified. I would also request you to compare the patterns and comments of @Pulseoraus to @Mirudeditor2 on English Wikipedia to check if both are used by him. ~2026-42229-71 (talk) 11:48, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

You’re being trolled by a brand new account with no history on it trying to continue the same pattern of destructive behavior. :) my honest opinion after looking at what the person wrote above it’s all in relation to the extortion at temp which makes me think it’s the same person ~2026-42203-63 (talk) 21:16, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

User @~2026-42229-71 and @NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh this is an attempt of extortion yet it appears. How come the person created this account 14 hours ago and the only edits they’ve made was to complain about those pages? There’s a discussion on ANI that this account reporting is a spam itself.

Arbcom, has blocked the accounts mentioned above after receiving messages of extortion, and attempts of extortion through email. The block on his account shows that specific tag.

The pages you’re referring to, do not appear to be UPE. Most of the articles you’ve deleted or flagged for deletion were worked by many editors and edited by many editors throughout their existence, it appears. ~2026-42203-63 (talk) 21:37, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

@NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh I just discovered that the account of the user ~2026-42229-71 is linked to the ip address of the same person named Aaddiil and account Ilovepopculture. He’s trying to run the same extortion attempts. Getting pages deleted, then reaching out to public figures social media accounts to demand payment to restore them.

Check his blocking logs from Arbcom. He’s know within the Wikipedia community to run this scheme. Don’t you think, if a real editor had real basis to report anything serious they would use their own account? Based on their writing they don’t seem new to Wikipedia and the reporting. The structure is very similar to how we editors at wiki use to report. @NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh i now have proof of undisclosed payments involving Mirud and the user:Aaaddiil that proves even his English Wikipedia is UPE along with the remaining of his pages. I was able to connect directly with the user and he agreed to share the proof of payment and conversation between him and Mirud. Cross-wiki UPE or self-promotional spam by article subject

Since July 2026, Eddykod11 (talk · contribs) has created an article about Husein Mahmoud Saleh on 10 wikis. The article on frwiki is clearly AI-generated and contains promotional content without demonstrating the subject's notability. It was deleted at my request. This topic appears to be the account's sole focus. The account also uploaded images of the subject to Commons. I strongly suspect that the account is operated by the subject himself or by someone close to him. Hsaleh1122 (talk · contribs) has also uploaded images of the subject to Commons. There is therefore potential sockpuppetry. Erlanger16e (talk) 16:06, 6 September 2026 (UTC)
