Comité Regional
Funding decisions in Northern and Western Europe are made by a committee of volunteers from across the region and the wider movement. They review General Support Fund applications twice a year, while rapid grants are reviewed by staff.
- Camelia Boban, October 2022 - Economist, developer, AffCom (former Chair and treasurer), Wikip[m]edian since 2007. Based in Rome (Italy).

- Miquel Duran, October 2024 - Quantum Chemist, in Girona. Working mainly around Wikidata and Catalan Viquipèdia
- Sara Mörtsell, September 2025 - Researcher at Lund University, Sweden in critical education and technology studies, ran the Wikipedia Education Program in Sweden training educators, librarians, students and faculty to get involved with Wikimedia projects and free knowledge.
- Connor Benedict, September 2025 - Connor has a background in arts and culture, project management, organisational development, process design and community activism. At Creative Commons he supported the Open Culture Program with logistics, project management, production and design activities that help make Open Access a reality for cultural heritage organisations. Currently supporting the GLAM Conference 2025 in Lisbon.
- Netha Hussain, September 2026 - Radiologist and researcher based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Wikimedian since 2010, contributing to English and Malayalam Wikipedia, Commons and Wikidata, with a focus on medical content and gender equity. Previously served on the Individual Engagement Grants Committee (2015) and the Project Grants Committee (2018). Outside of Wikimedia, working as a medical doctor (radiologist), with a PhD in medical sciences.
- Marja Pirttivaara, September 2026 - Based in Finland. Physicist (PhD) and MBA with a long career in research and innovation financing, including some twenty years at Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund, and earlier at Tekes. Independent expert evaluator for the European Commission and board member of the Runar Bäckström Foundation, working on the fair data economy and sustainable development.
- Šárka Vyhnánková, September 2026 - Conservator-restorer and heritage researcher based in Wallachia, Czech Republic, working on stone and polychrome sculpture, digital documentation and 3D technologies in conservation, and the ethics of digital repatriation. She holds a master's degree from the University of Applied Arts Vienna and has carried out conservation work across Austria, Germany and Italy, bringing a Central European and German-speaking perspective to the committee. Evaluator and Rapporteur for the EIT Culture & Creativity Pool of Experts and a member of Europa Nostra's Selection Committee for Conservation and Adaptive Reuse.
- Eduardo Carrillo, September 2026 - PhD researcher at UCL's STEaPP in London, studying network interference and state-sponsored internet censorship and its implications for human rights. Has worked for many years in civil society and international organisations in Paraguay on human rights topics, and from 2021 to 2024 co-led the Paraguayan digital rights organisation TEDIC.
- Adiba Anjum, September 2026 - Generative AI engineer based in New Delhi, India. Joined the Wikimedia movement through Outreachy in 2025, working on the Cat-a-lot gadget on Wikimedia Commons under the mentorship of Wikimedia Finland, and has stayed involved since as a mentor for new Outreachy cohorts.
