This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Global IP block exempt for LeetGuy9915A

Hello! I'm a Wikipedia user from mainland China, as everyone knows, it's nearly impossible for people to access the websites such as Google in mainland China, so I can't help but use VPN to cross network blocks or limitations. That's why I'm here to apply for a global IP exemption. Although it would be hard for me to visit Wikipedia often, I will still try my best to contribute to it! I'm very appreciative of your help! --LeetGuy9915A (talk) 05:19, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for 来斤小仓鼠吧

This is a Wikipedia user from mainland China. Due to my schoolwork, my account did not contribute any edit this semester and my block exempt has been canceled. The block has made a huge impediment on my edit on Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. Hooping to get the exemption back soon to restart my edit plan this vacation ASAP. Best wishes. --来斤小仓鼠吧 (talk) 09:44, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@来斤小仓鼠吧: Global exemptions don't override local blocks. If you are facing local blocks, it would be best to get local IPBE. If it's more global blocks, let us know. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 22:16, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Abuse filter helper for QueerEcofeminist

The following request is closed. Please do not modify it. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Hello, I am active in dealing cross-wiki vandalism and many a time sockpuppetery on devnagari wikis. These days I am also active in other projects too. GR is been great help in my crosswiki antivandalism work. I think I can make use of abuse filter helper rights in furthering my work. I am sysop and interface editor on mrwikisource, test sysop on incubator, Global rollbacker so I am familiar with wikimedia privacy policies and other relevant policies concerning these global rights. thanks, --QueerEcofeminist [they/them/their] 15:04, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose seems to be trying to make an end run around being denied this at their home wiki (w:en:Wikipedia:Edit_filter_noticeboard/Archive_7#EFH_for_QueerEcofeminist). — xaosflux Talk 17:43, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    End run after one year and eight months? QueerEcofeminist [they/them/their] 00:57, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    As you apparently want to access the private filters on enwiki, you should reapply there as mentioned below. Additional, the only production filter you've touched in the last year (s:mr:Special:AbuseFilter/10) seems to be a mess. — xaosflux Talk 01:41, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    1) To be very Frank, I want to just view the entries catched by filters and not to edit them. And on enwiki I had asked for the same.
    2) the rights were not granted as a result of assumption that I don't need it. And not as a punitive action against me.
    3) all three users who opposed are editors of only enwiki and they don't know anything about crosswiki. Two of three users who opposed have rights and experience of working with filters and one never had any trusted rights or experience. On top of it only is actually active now. It's not new for me. Not surprised when you dont want to understand difference between just view and edit.
    I agree global right will also grant me the same on enwiki and I should get it on enwiki first.(though this is not the case for many users and projects.) I can understand why many of you would be always in opposition to users like me.
    So I am withdrawing this request. Thanks for your valuable inputs.
    I withdraw this request. QueerEcofeminist [they/them/their] 05:49, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    Marked as withdrawn then. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 20:27, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think we should have a little more explanation with the enwiki situation, even though it was nearly two years ago now, and maybe you should also inform the people involved in your abuse filter helper request there of your global one and/or get abuse filter helper on enwiki first. --Ferien (talk) 17:59, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
