Steward requests/Global permissions

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki
(Redirected from SRGR)
Shortcut:
SRGP
This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Global rename for Bunnypranav

[edit]
Not ending before 16:03 31 May 2026 (UTC)

Hello folks! I request the global renamer to help out with the rename requests sent through the Special:GlobalRenameRequest interface, and, after some experience doing so, give my bit at the private requests to the mail address. I am currently a sysop at Wikifunctions (user page). I have been regularly helping out with deletion and blocks at that wiki, and now wish to help out globally as well. I am an experienced editor at enwiki as well, with New page patroller and other rights, and I operate a bot in the same wiki. I have native-level proficiency in English, Hindi, and Telugu, along with basic understanding of various other Indian languages (I cannot read other scripts, but can understand once transliterated).

I have fully gone through the Global rename policy, and will give my very best at following it while also not biting any users who have (un)intentionally chosen a disallowed username. I hope the community gives me this opportunity, thank you for your time! (Please DO PING me if you want my reply, I cannot regularly watch this high traffic page) ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 16:03, 17 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Requests for global IP block exemption

Global IP block exempt for Saskeh

[edit]

Sorry my parcial English (is a progress). The first message is Portuguese and the second is English (I used a translator, but there are some phrases in English that I can get right):

On my Portuguese Wikipedia page, I identify my place of residence (São Paulo, SP, Brazil). However, the City, Metropolitan Area, and its surroundings are subject to numerous IP blocks (due to vandalism by local residents, discovery of unknown or newly created accounts after verification and open proxies). Because of this, I had to use a VPN for my security and privacy, but even so, I've had to stop due to the block and have been innocently accused of using an account associated with the verification (block evasion or sockpuppetry), which has increased significantly (in recent years, I've been traveling and haven't been able to edit).
Due to IP address blocks for the aforementioned reasons (vandalism, accounts blocked after verification, and open proxies), I have been unable to edit some projects (mostly Wikinews and Wikipedia) for days, weeks, months, and even years (you can verify my contributions as proof for over 10 years). Although the Wikipedia in Portuguese has restricted edits by IP address, these IP address blocks still exist, lasting up to 5 years in many regions of Brazil. For these reasons, I request IPBE authorization on my account for all-projects wikis (ipblock-exempt).

thanks, --Saskeh (talk) 04:50, 10 May 2026 (UTC).[reply]

@Saskeh IP blocks on Portuguese Wikipedia shouldn't affect you if you're logged-in, you shouldn't need VPN to edit. And if some local blocks affect you, global IP block exempt won't help – only local IP block exemptions help against local blocks. Johannnes89 (talk) 05:55, 16 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
