Created in error at MediaWiki:Globalblocking-block-reason-dropdown. --Min☠︎rax«¦talk¦» 03:22, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
Deleteonce MediaWiki:Globalblocking-block-reason-dropdown is fixed. There are several more instances of this typo, which I'll fix as well. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 03:37, 29 October 2025 (UTC)- There are "only" 2043 block summaries that need fixing. As @Johannnes89 was the one who introduced the typo, I propose that he carry out the task of fixing them. I'll deliver him a trout too. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 04:16, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for noticing. Not sure if it's worth the effort changing all those block summaries, how about just leaving this page as a redirect for ~1 year and delete it once most of the blocks are expired? Johannnes89 (talk) 10:15, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- Agreed. It's not really worth fixing that. It'd be a rather pointless work to do. Leave a redirect for some time and have it deleted later. -Barras talk 10:25, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- That does sound like a better choice. Delayed delete per above. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 10:52, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- Fine with me. Just curious, when will the last gblock expire? --Min☠︎rax«¦talk¦» 10:53, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Minorax: According to this new query, there are 9 indefinite blocks. Another 400+ will expire in 2030, and there are plenty of 2028s. Only to be expected, since these are for open proxies. I guess they still need to be fixed after all. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 11:07, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hmm I had hoped for most blocks to expire after 1-2 years. Fixed the indefinite blocks and some more, but unless we want to keep the page as a redirect for five years I guess I need to fix at least the 400+ expiring 2030. Johannnes89 (talk) 12:28, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Johannnes89: The numbers for each year are: 87 (2025; 33 expired, 17 expiring this month), 329 (2026), 250 (2027), 957 (2028) and 411 (2030) We might as well fix all of them. Can other stewards help? NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 05:40, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Johannnes89: Any update on this? Maybe you could automate this fix with a script. – DreamRimmer ■ 12:01, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
- I will try and take a look tomorrow. -- XXBlackburnXx (talk) 00:09, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry didn't have much time recently. Writing scripts is not really my strong suit, so I'm happy if someone else could help. Johannnes89 (talk) 10:35, 22 November 2025 (UTC)

No longer necessary. See Steward requests/Miscellaneous#Two-factor authentication tester group. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 19:04, 5 December 2025 (UTC)
Keep for a while at least. From what I can tell there are external inbound links to this section. The header can be updated to make it clear that this is automatic for now. — xaosflux Talk 19:27, 5 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux: Do you mean there are links to this template, specifically, or the § Requests for 2 Factor Auth tester permissions section of SRGP? NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 19:31, 5 December 2025 (UTC)
- To Steward_requests/Global_permissions#Requests_for_2_Factor_Auth_tester_permissions; when we turn that down we can just speed delete anything left in it as cleanup; right now that is all on hold in case there is regression that requires us to start the process back up. — xaosflux Talk 20:40, 5 December 2025 (UTC)

AI-generated description of a project that claims to have something to do with Commons and other wikis. The project seems to only be tangentially relevant. Pages on Commons, Wikisource, Wikibooks and Wikiversity have all been either deleted or tagged for deletion. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 04:54, 6 December 2025 (UTC)
- Delete. This is AI-generated nonsense. Omphalographer (talk) 22:19, 6 December 2025 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. --

AI-generated description of a project that claims to be [h]osted by the Wikimedia movement. I could not make out much from the description, but it doesn't seem to be sufficiently relevant to Wikimedia. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 16:48, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- Also wrong namespace. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 16:49, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hi,
- I'm sorry about the false claim (hosted by Wikimedia).
- And it's indeed formated with AI (the errors comes from that).
- I'll fix the false claim imediately and add mention that it's a project proposal, not yet reviewed by any member of Wikemedia, but NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh who pointed this important error. Réjean McCormick (talk) 17:37, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- Delete. This is not a Wikimedia project, nor is it a viable proposal for a new sister project. I would encourage the author to gain additional familiarity with the Wikimedia project and its communities before proposing that it embark on a new project. Omphalographer (talk) 22:00, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- Well, Knowledge of paths in the universe of UI is worth mapping. You have empty arguments. "Not viable" is not true, or sustained. I would encourage you to have a broader and deeper familiarity with the project before simply asking for Ariane to be pushed out. I do say that this project is worth having a keen look. Otherway, I'll develop it elsewhere (you comment is felt as hostile). I came to collaborate with this community, and I welcome constructive advices, not simply saying that I'm not knowlegeable (about this community) after saying we should simply ban Ariane from Wiki ecosystem.
- Ariane is mapping knowledge in an encyclopedic way. I understand this is not about storing historical fact. It's about describing the world of UI, in all its variety, just like encyclopedia is mapping nature and civilisation.
- Omphalographer, if you would have looked better at it, you would have discovered it more than viable, it's very powerful. Actually, AI is blind to guide us in interfaces. Have you tried? It's pityfull blind guessing, the AI does. The AI lacks knowledge. But the knowledge is there to be fetch and organised, indexed.
- Accessibility features of almost every modern app make the information about menus accessible for crawling and indexing. A commercially neutral organisation like Wikimedia can centralise this mapped knowledge. It aligns with it's mandate:
- Empower people around the world to collect and develop educational content.
- Disseminate this content effectively and globally.
- Maintain the infrastructure (servers and software) so that this content remains free of charge and available in perpetuity
- "Imagine a world in which every single human being can freely share in the sum of all knowledge. That is our commitment"
- The sum of all knowledge.
- One thing Omphalographer is right about is that I don't know the inner working, the habits, the way of communicating, the style of communication, of Wikimedia communities. I do believe there's a lot of people with sound advice, here, and which are truly devoted, like me, to build a better world, working to map knowledge of physical and virtual landscapes.
- This will be my only argument to keep Ariane here. I ask for @Denny Vrandečić (WMDE) or another senior member to offer swift resolution of this debate. Notice my development pace and accuracy with Wiki Abstract Architect, and you'll understand why I hesitated sharing Ariane concept, and not keeping it for commercial gain.
- Notice: I reserv the right to pull Ariane intellectual property from here and develop it autonomously.
- So, either kick Ariane out, or be constructive. Réjean McCormick (talk) 23:31, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- About AI generated content for Ariane proposal, if using AI is forbidden, I can generate an audio from the text, so anyone of Wiki community willing to build can type it one letter at the time. Personnaly, I'm here to help, not to loose my time or make anyone loose it's time. Time is a thing a value much, your's as much. So I provided very well structured content not for a Wiki encyclopedia page but for an "inner system" page, for the members of the building community have easy access. I didn't hagged more reccource than half a megabyte, neither did I published low quality material.
- I've been real busy working on Abstract Wiki Architect, so, sorry again for the erroneous information about actual partnership with any of you. I'm new here, still adjusting to tone, still looking for a broader view on participants, beside Denny and Omphalogaffer. Réjean McCormick (talk) 23:52, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Denny Réjean McCormick (talk) 23:55, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- I chose to pull Ariane out, asked for the project to be removed from here.
