Why is this user awesome?
Like him or hate him, Jack and his many socks have improved Wikipedia vastly over the years. Wikipedia is a better place for our readers because of his efforts. If, as it seems, he has actually stopped editing for the moment, the least we can do is hook him up with a nice parting gift.

This user is awesome because he not only helped organize WLM, but has been a very valuable new member of the Affiliations Committee, with his rational level-headedness keeping us on track and helping volunteers, while we were busy evolving from Chapcom into Affcom. Why is this user awesome? Go Phigtins! adopts multiple users each month and instantly provides feedback and assistance without anything in return; he/she is simply kind. Furthermore, he/she isn't even an administrator nor has any desire to be! This, alone, is admirable, as it indicates a dedicated editor with a good heart, policy knowledge, but no "power hunger," though I am not implying that the administrators are so; most of them are anonymous, anyhow.

Wisdom is the judicious application of knowledge. It is a deep understanding and realization of people, things, events or situations, resulting in the ability to apply perceptions, judgments and actions in keeping with this understanding. It often requires control of one's emotional reactions (the "passions") so that universal principles, reason and knowledge prevail to determine one's actions.
Yup, that's what he's got! Gandydancer (talk) 22:29, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this user awesome? Huon has been active for years and years now, but what has particularly come to my attention has been his massive, constant, and comprehensive efforts to help new users. He's involved just about everywhere that helping new users can happen, and so far in 2013 he has been the editor who has done most in each and all of those different places. A lot of other people have been involved, many of them have put in huge numbers of hours and made a huge difference, but Huon is absolutely outstanding in this respect. I do have concerns that he may be spending far too much time online in order to deal with the many many requests for help on Wikipedia, and I feel that providing him with an elegant piece of apparel from this programme would assist by reminding him to go outside into the fresh air occasionally in order to show it off. (And would also mark our gratitude for his splendid contributions.)

Why is this user awesome?

She has over 44k edits, putting her in the top 1000 Wikipedians of all time, and a habit of sneaking onto new pages and quietly cleaning them up. She has a firm yet gentle way of dealing with problems as an admin. She still manages to keep her article edits over half of her contribs here as well, showing she has her eye on what is really important: content for the reader. That, and from my experience, she is really a kind person that manages to bring a little joy wherever she goes. She has unknowingly been a positive influence for me over the last year.

Why is this user awesome?

For weeks he has been trawling through the AfC archives and flagging for deletion attack pages which have been lurking there for months, or sometimes for years. This is the sort of painstaking behind-the-scenes work necessary to keep an anyone-can-edit site running, but it is not appreciated as it should be.
