Quarto 3 raz jeszcze[edit]

Niestety, nie mam pojecia. Najlepiej pogadaj bezposrednio z sj. -- kocio 22:51, 22 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, Quartos[edit]

Hello Aegis,

Pages 3 and 4 are being shortened in English to fit them into pdf format this week; their content is not being changed. There will be wiki-wide promotion of the third Quarto this week, and the finished editions (English, French, Chinese) will be uploaded to the foundation site tomorrow for an announcement.

Cheers, +sj | Translate the Quarto |+ 21:00, 24 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

WQ3[edit]

-- kocio 18:41, 1 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

=/// kocio 14:41, 9 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Aegis,

Sorry for the delay. I am afraid that our funds for bringing EU and US attendees are most limited; you are not likely to get a scholarship (though there are some final scholarships being handed out, due to last minute funds opening up).

Best wishes, and hopes to see you one of these years soon, +sj 05:56, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My block on the Polish Wikipedia[edit]

Hi. I come here to ask you to unblock me on the Polish Wikipedia as I can't edit my own talk page. Masti claims I cheated. I haven't cheated. I just asked for rename kindly on the Polish Wikipedia, subsequently asked you to review it. Earlier today I gained access to my old account, and I asked for unlock to complete the rename process. What Masti did is totally unacceptable. He's blind to look at the irrefutable proof I have: http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Wikinews:Admin_action_alerts#Update_on_my_main_account http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Log?page=User:MisterWiki@global . Everyone knows the Wikinewsie and Zeusbot net thing. I didn't manage any other account than : MWBot (my failed bot project) ; MisterWiki (the account locked for security) and Diego Grez; my current account. Again. The block in the Polish Wikipedia is unacceptable. Additionally, Masti claims I have socked with "DJ Raiden" (doesn't exists); "Musicfan48" (account I have just used in the English Wikipedia when I did the spam thing" and "Diegogrez" formerly my main account. I don't think a block is needed for something I did 4 years ago and in another wiki! Cheers and hope a satisfactory answer from your part. Diego Grez return fire 00:45, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Translator, We need you![edit]

Dear Aegis Maelstrom,

You have helped us in previous years with translations and for that we are most grateful. Now we turn towards the 2011/12 fundraiser. It may seem forever away, but work has already begun getting everything ready to go. This year we want to have landing pages covering as many countries in as many languages as possible.

Right now, we want to figure out who is interested in translating for the fundraiser. This year we're hoping to have more of a solidified "core" group of translators that we can count on to have work done by a few key dates, but we'd also welcome help from people who are willing to just help out when they can.

If you would be interested please take a look at this little sign-up survey and fill it out http://survey.wikimedia.org/index.php?sid=13638&newtest=Y&lang=en. With that we can start building a list of people and filling any gaps in the languages we serve.

Many Thanks

Important announcement: Election delayed by one week[edit]

The Election Committee regrets to advise that it is necessary to delay the start of voting in the WMF Elections 2013 for one week. This delay is being implemented for three reasons:

  • We have been unable to verify that the list of eligible voters is complete and that all voters meet the published criteria
  • We have been unable to verify that the SecurePoll setups for the election are properly functioning
  • The voter interfaces have not been translated and are not currently available in any language other than English, thus disadvantaging Wikimedians who do not read English.

The following changes are now made to the Election timeline:

  • 8-22 June 2013: elections
  • 23-25 June 2013: vote-checking
  • 25-28 June: publication of results.

For the Election Committee, Risker (talk) 21:05, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think the AffCom has all that information, but let me find out how to get it and from whom. And I'll also fill the Venezuelan section as well :-) --Maor X (talk) 17:01, 15 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Telugu[edit]

Hi, I think that the GAC gives an opinion and this is not mandatory. In general there is a big percentage of project approved or disapproved following GAC's opinion. The specific case of European Parliament is an exception connected basically with the pressure of some chapters (in my opinion) who approved the project internally and financed it partially. I agree in your point basically to identify mainly the responsibilities of the project when it doesn't reach all objectives because if GAC gives an opinion but it is done differently, someone should also have in charge the failure of the project. --Ilario (talk) 11:54, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

2014 FDC self-nomination[edit]

Hello there! Thank you very much for submitting your nomination to join the Funds Dissemination Committee. I am Katy, and I am working with the Board representatives to the FDC on the FDC nominations process. As you know, the public question and answer period is now underway. Please do review the questions and respond to them as you are able. If you are selected for an interview, kindly note that interviews will be held the week of the 23rd June and the 30th, if necessary. If the Board appoints you to the FDC, we will be holding orientation for members prior to Wikimania on August 6 and 7 in London. If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to reach out to me on my Talk page or at FDCsupport@wikimedia.org. Inspire Campaign on content curation & review[edit]

I've recently launched an Inspire Campaign to encourage new ideas focusing on content review and curation in Wikimedia projects. Wikimedia volunteers collaboratively manage vast repositories of knowledge, and we’re looking for your ideas about how to manage that knowledge to make it more meaningful and accessible. We invite you to participate and submit ideas, so please get involved today! The campaign runs until March 28th.

All proposals are welcome - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is welcome - your skills and experience can help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign to improve review and curation tasks so that we can make our content more meaningful and accessible! I JethroBT (WMF) 05:38, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Through June, we’re organizing an Inspire Campaign to encourage and support new ideas focusing on addressing harassment toward Wikimedia contributors. The 2015 Harassment Survey has shown evidence that harassment in various forms - name calling, threats, discrimination, stalking, and impersonation, among others - is pervasive. Available methods and systems to deal with harassment are also considered to be ineffective. These behaviors are clearly harmful, and in addition, many individuals who experience or witness harassment participate less in Wikimedia projects or stop contributing entirely.

Proposals in any language are welcome during the campaign - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is appreciated, and collaboration is encouraged - your skills and experience may help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign so that we can work together to develop ideas around this important and difficult issue. With thanks,

2016 Community Wishlist Survey[edit]

Hi,

You’re getting this message because you participated in the 2015 Community Wishlist Survey and we want to make sure you don't miss it this year – or at least can make the conscious choice to ignore if it you want to. The 2015 survey decided what the Community Tech team should work on during 2016. It was also the focus of Wikimedia hackathons and work by other developers. You can see the status of wishes from the 2015 wishlist at 2015 Community Wishlist Survey/Results.

The 2016 Community Wishlist Survey is now open for wishes. You can create proposals until November 20. You will be able to vote on which wishes you think are best or most important between November 28 and December 12. /Johan (WMF) (talk) via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 11:17, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The candidate for the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees is asking you to support his candidacy![edit]

Hi Aegis Maelstrom,
I ask you and your local organization to consider my candidacy for the candidates for the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees. I myself put forward my candidacy for this election. I ask you to support my candidacy, as I have a strategic vision of the next. Each of the foreign language sections of the Wikimedia Foundation project must receive the widest support. This will ensure an increase in the content of your linguistic local of the Wikimedia Foundation projects. Other linguistic local communities of the World can count on the same support. Also, I believe that all foreign language sections of the Wikimedia Foundation projects that are less powerful than English speakers should have the same chance for the rapid growth of their local projects.
In case you and your local organization support my candidacy. Then, I ask you to write this in my profile of the candidate for the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees. You can write this in the "Endorsements" section of my candidate profile.
Thank you for your attention!

Hi!

Now, we have finalized the results from the WikiGap Challenge. You can find the general and top results here. I want to thank you for your contribution, which together with the other participants have created a tremendous and long lasting impact for the visibility of women on Wikipedia.

We want to give you a barnstar for your participation, to praise your efforts for a better visibility of women on Wikipedia!

We will analyze the challenge and the way it works closely, to see how we can improve it for next year. It would be very valuable for us if you wanted to share your views on the challenge, especially when it comes to: the point system, the focus, and the adding of the list from UN Human Rights. You can send your answers to eric.luth@wikimedia.se!

I hope you found the challenge exciting, and that you want to participate next year as well!

WikiGap Challenge 2022[edit]

Hi! As one of the participants of the WikiGap Challenge 2021, I wanted to inform you that we have launched the 2022 edition of the Challenge – and you are of course more than welcome to join! The landing page of the challenge is on this page. This year, due to the pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we are extending the Challenge to 8 May. I hope this might give some extra time for everyone to take part.

As last year, the UN Human Rights Office has nominated some 25 women human rights defenders, this year specifically focusing on women active within the fields of environment and climate. Writing articles about these women yield bonus points.

Feel free to join, and reach out if you have any questions! Josefine Hellroth Larsson (WMSE) (talk) 14:31, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Will you please consider answering all the Board election questions in writing?[edit]

Greetings, Board of Trustees candidate! I'm asking all of you to please consider voluntarily answering all of the community-submitted Wikimedia Foundation elections/2022/Community Voting/Questions for Candidates, instead of just the six top voted that the Elections Committee is asking you to answer on video.

Please see here if you are willing to indicate your agreement.

I'm also hoping you might respond to all 35 Election Compass Likert statements instead of only the 15 most endorsed. Thank you for considering these requests. New4Q (talk) 22:26, 26 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have created Wikimedia Foundation elections/2022/Community Voting/Questions for Candidates/Sorted with an invitation for candidates' written answers there. I plan to do something similar for all the proposed Election Compass statements, including any removed from the endorsement list to which someone objected, but I will wait until after August 4 so we know how to sort them.
