My apologies to bother you again, but trv:Jason Kwan reappeared in another tiny wikipedia. Could you deal with it (and its wd item)? Thanks. Lymantria (talk) 20:37, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

I have a question for you:

Do you own this account on Miraheze? Feel free to respond as soon as you can, because I'm concerned that you might be a victim of impersonation. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 15:30, 7 April 2021 (UTC)

@DarkMatterMan4500: Hi, I don't own that account. --Minoraxtalk 01:02, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for the response anyway. On that note, that account has now been globally locked on Miraheze. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) (talk) 15:14, 8 April 2021 (UTC)

Need help or some way advice

Hello there! You don't know me personally [that's good as, I hope, you can see a situation with clear view] but we already met e.g. here or here. I need your straight assistance or/and suggestion about situation took place, but no more as translation technics guru, but as metawiki-sysop (on my block page were said I can connect to any sysop from the list, where your username's also present). Don't be confused (if you are willing to help) if my IPs will be changed while our discussion as I expect furhter unapproved persecution from the conflict-involved below-mentioned steward by blocking more and more my IPs to prevent me from requesting a help and posting his actions abuse about.

Case is I was affected by block ID #385231 that:

 1. Obviously connected to no more then defending a "single point of view" about words original document (english-languaged) letter capitalization saving (or not) while translating that was told about here and here that violates at least Neutral point of view policy (and, for sure clearly violates Stewards policy#Avoid_conflicts_of_interest especially taking in view such steward after blocking me rollbacked massively with his own hands from such my edits, where word letter capitalization only affected, to such ones, where was no 'letter capitalization' was affected but made translation meaning clarification to fit to original document text, that way used his steward user right [blocking an unonymous contributor] abusive way - to just protect article's translation 'one point view' or, other words - letting "badly written material stand" that not follows recomendations nor for rollback ['This should not be used for reverting a change you just don't like'] nor for even reverting itself ['Don't let superfluous or badly written material stand']), as previous one was (with only difference for now [by current block] of much-wider term and of I blocked from even posting such deblock request on my own talk page I made earlier).

@Base: Kindly take a look at this, thanks. --Minoraxtalk 01:05, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
I am not sure what to look at here, unfortunately. This is an LTA originating from ukwiki, they edit anonymously, but I suspect this might be WMF banned Bodiadub or Crazyalien. Their main interest in this role is to create long topics of nonsense discussions while also having like 20% of useful edits. They have created at least 2 arbcom requests in ukwiki, regularly create some forum discussions and even were writing to stewards@ with over five screens worth of some text listing some diffs. In this case they have marginal view on Ukrainian orthography where title case does not exist (but they try to prove otherwise with some housing estate name examples, most of which are in English anyway) and POV push that while here and there also making useful copyediting of the translations. For the record the block was done as a Meta admin and not a steward, and as to CoI, I potentially have some: as a ukwiki arbitrator I was declining their requests before, as a steward I was ignoring their OTRS letter and as a Ukrainian speaker I have my knowledge of Ukrainian orthography... --Base (talk) 06:13, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
Dear Base!
As "long" messages being blocked here with Abuse Filter I will try to do it most short way.
I will just ask you as stewards asks when someone claims something on anyone:
Please provide any diffs supporting your claims.
...towards local activity of user:85.238.102.83 you blocked with block ID #385231 for 3 months including [with unapproved necessity] blocking possibility to post to user's own talk page, that looks loke you are just afraid (or confused?) of something user you blocked can post, as no any wiki- policies violation has not been done by such anonymous contributor ever.
For now it looks like [and your posted above words approving that] you just harass anonymous contributor for own point of view using your local sysop user rights that way exhibiting behavior that is descripted @Universal_Code_of_Conduct/Policy_text#3.2_–_Abuse_of_power,_privilege,_or_influence (choose any point there). In detail: you blocked anonymous contributor using LOCAL sysop rights (if you have APPROVED [and not just 'guessed'] such serious claims you posted above, doesn't such user "worth" to be blocked globally? Why didn't you do it globally to not disturb meta local sysops and clearly "fight the mills" much more effective way?), who never violated any policy because of... You personally just don't like his contribution [your contribution 2 minutes reverting whole anonimous in 2 minutes before block itself exactly approves that [including you reverted changes ONLY to versions of user:Ата & user:Mykola Swarnyk, who is your homewiki-originating users, who didn't provide any valuable arguments here or here and you ever did not search any Consensus with such anonymous contributor in discussion by yourself. That way it looks like you used your local sysop user rights abusive way to block other contributor to make valuable edits as user:Ата already done as one as you blocked same contributor with same unapproved reasons in less then hour after user:Ата posted an request to that exactly unregistered contributor, but for 31 hours, that means your blocking actions are mostly directed to "defend" user:Ата's point of view while translations but not to "fight vandalism" etc, that is NOT APPROPRIATE reason to use sysop block user rights. That way you violated Neutral point of view policy which is first placed thing @ Wikimedia Founding principles. Will you deny you violated such global WMF-principles with block and appropriate reverts you done? Or please just cancel block ID #385231 and stop violating Neutral point of view with your obvious friends from your homewiki on global WMF-project, which metawiki is, as one as you used to persecute unregistered contributors on your homewiki, to not force any investigation towards your unappripriate functionary actions?85.238.103.51 21:43, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
Dear Base!
In addition, please make a clear explanation, how can such words, told by you yesterday on your homewiki, as:
 • "[translated] Hello, no, [s/he] doesn't have. [I] will rollback it later."
answering an user:Mykola Swarnyk's phrase (containing a question you're obviously answered to):
 • "[translated, partly cutted] [new section title] Meta Blocking [section text] Hello,...Does a blocked there contributor have a right to revert edits to UCoC and do whatever [s/he] wants? I'm tired of picking out those capital letters..."
have to be understood other way then a "group harassment" of unregistered contributor[you blocked]'s on metawiki by at least you and your-homewiki-originating user:Mykola Swarnyk connected to exactly first letter capitalization of words in Universal Code of Conduct naming you never discussed with unregistered contributor you blocked for 3 months with no any way approved explanations and exactly your own involvement in local[metawiki]-editorial conflict, not even talking about Neutral point of view policy, Stewards policy etc.?85.238.103.51 13:46, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
Dear Base!
In addition, please explain here your next LOCAL metawiki block of 85.238.102.83 contributor for 3 months of unregistered contributor who... Done nothing...except just asked you to explain your actions(???)... Explaining such block with...Explanation request blocked contributor addressed to you(???)85.238.101.69 15:22, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
Dear Base!
In addition, please explain here your LOCAL metawiki 8000+ IP-range block for 3 months of unregistered contributor195.138.94.241 16:13, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
Minorax, thanks. Your participation quite brief, but valuable.85.238.103.51 21:47, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
In my opinion, edits made by User:85.238.103.51 in the UCoC translation on May 3rd, are contradicting the Ukrainian Orthography Code (particularly §55 of it) and should be reverted. Unblocking only will encourage edit wars. Mykola Swarnyk (talk) 15:53, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
Dear Mykola Swarnyk! I think that your above-posted comment would be most valuable if'll be copied [I will do it for you] (or even moved) to already started (by you) discussion towards it (UCoC-related pages connected to it's name letter capitalization) here and not to start it again and again that way trying to hide opposing arguments from readers of your such message. The answer to your message will be posted also there.85.238.103.51 12:36, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

For the record I have blocked the IP writing here as I am 99% sure it is the person blocked and also moved forward to block the ISP's range as they kept evading block. For more context here is the stewards@ ticket I have mentioned above ticket:2021010310003726, I am 99% sure it is the same person and they handily list all the nonsense they were doing in ukwiki over the months there. --Base (talk) 15:48, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

Dear Base!
Please provide any diffs supporting your claims.
195.138.94.241 16:13, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
@Billinghurst: What do you need more, except unapproved LOCAL wide-range blocks (including unneccessary block of own talk page edit possibility) when person, who made a block, asked to just explain his local harass sysop activity on blocked contributor talk page (but never did it), to understand that contacting to conflict-involved person, who used his sysop user rights abusive way, to resolve a "current situation" is a bad idea and there's much wider problem then "translation misunderstanding"? Any ideas how can I contest the (for now already) a 3 months 8000+IPs[contributors who made NOTHING violating a WMF-policies] range blocks (1, 2, 3) other way then resulting even more numerous and massive blocks by steward person who abusing and harrass me?195.138.94.241 16:13, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
@Minorax: Your further help (if any) will be also appreciated by me195.138.94.241 16:13, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
Dear 195.138.94.241/85.238.102.83, please stop swapping IP addresses to avoid the block. Stewards and those familiar with the language have a better view this than me, and I trust them to do the right thing. <out>  — billinghurst sDrewth 16:17, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
Dear user:Billinghurst, I got your vision, but I'm still disagree, as "hand of God"-behaviour (as you personally called it) [towards exactly local sysop user rights using abusive way] is still here. Thank you. Will not disturb you personally anymore as you claimed your position ("they know better") clearly. Thank you178.133.13.207 16:29, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
Dear IP-jumping person. You now will be blocked from editing. That behaviour is unacceptable.  — billinghurst sDrewth 16:34, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
Dear user:Billinghurst, there's no more unacceptable behaviour then abusing of power. So, you free to do all you willing to do. Either as I.178.133.60.44 16:39, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

Minorax, thank you for your strong position. I won't disturb you anymore. I saw everything I wanted to see here43.231.21.176 21:00, 10 May 2021 (UTC)

Still the same tipe of destructive activity on Ukrainian CofC translation from user:128.124.48.191 and user:2A03:E600:100:0:0:0:0:0/112 Mykola Swarnyk (talk) 23:20, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
As with all LTAs, just revert, block, and ignore. I just found yet another IP with this behaviour and reverted their edits. ~~~~

kmwiki and map-bms.wiki

Hi! I see you have been deleting some files on map-bms.wiki. Sadly many smaller wikis have problems cleaning up files. And even more sad some big wikis too.

Anyway I created map-bms:Kategori:Files with no license and added files to it with my bot. I have no bot flag so the edits are visible and I think that is a good thing because then users can see that something is going on. If no license is added soon then the files should be deleted.

I can do the same on kmwiki but there it will probably be around 900 files. I still think it is a good idea that users can see that something is going on but 900 files is a bit more than 125 files.

There are no active admins or bureaucrats I can ask on kmwiki. So what do you think? Should I go ahead and categrize the files without a bot flag or should I try to get a flag somehow?

There are probably other small wikis with the same problem. --MGA73 (talk) 14:52, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

@MGA73: I think that you should get a local flag at km.wiki for your bot. 900 edits is a little too much for it to run without a flag. --Minoraxtalk 15:10, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
Just realised that there are 2 local crats at km.wiki. As such, stewards are unlikely to grant the bot flag. You might want to confirm this with a steward. --Minoraxtalk 15:47, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
Hi! Sadly they are not active. Anyway see Special:Diff/21516421. --MGA73 (talk) 17:11, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

tvar update

Hello, I see you have been doing quite a few of these recently. Is some syntax being deprecated? If so, can we have this task done by a bot or automated in any way? ~~~~
User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk)
11:42, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

@1234qwer1234qwer4: See phab:T274881. I generally check for other stuff (empty spaces, links to translatable pages without Special:MyLanguage) when update the syntax so a bot or doing it in an automated way is not preferred. --Minoraxtalk 11:48, 30 May 2021 (UTC)
Okay, though a simple search shows that there are over 3000 pages to be updated; good luck with that. ~~~~
User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk)
11:57, 30 May 2021 (UTC)
@1234qwer1234qwer4: Well, I think that old pages can generally be left for a bot to edit while a human should do the more "current" pages. AWB can be used but someone still has to manually mark everything without invalidating the translations. --Minoraxtalk 12:01, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

Edit filter syntax

Forwarding from phab:T284093#7127099, regarding Special:AbuseFilter/history/247/diff/prev/3837: using != would have been the solution. ~~~~
