Pojawia się też po niemiecku i hiszpańsku.

Warto to mieć i po polsku - proponuję nie jako osobną listę dyskusyjną, tylko jako wątek wysyłany na główną polską listę dyskusyjną + może wrzucany na Wiki (ale na meta, nie na Wikipedię, bo to dotyczy wszystkich projektów).

Jeśli się za to zabierzesz, napisz do głównego redaktora (User talk:Walter), może część wiadomości będzie udostępniał z wyprzedzeniem, co usprawni pracę.

Vandalism

Hi Wzpedzich

In recent days I have had to revert thousands of edits from the following range of IP addresses for negative contributions including vandalism on the pages of many Eastern European countries, Middle Eastern countries, countless complex mathematic formulas and proofs insertion of pornography into the pages of articles including articles for children's novels in addition to a attempt to promote vilification in the wikipeda pages for various ethnic and historical groups such as Australian Aboriginals, Canadian Inuits, Israelites and Holocaust victims

This morning alone I must have reverted at least 100 or so examples of vandalism

The edits may be the beginning of a DDOS or a mass attempt to disrupt the workings of wikipedia and I request a temporary block be placed upon the following IP ranges:

1- 202.138.0.0 202.138.79.255

2- 202.138.192.0 202.138.223.255

3- 202.139.0.0 202.139.191.255

4- 202.139.224.0 202.139.255.255

5- 202.141.208.0 202.141.223.255

Wikimania 2010 Bid for Gdańsk

Hi Editor Wzpedzich,

I see you have added Gdańsk as a possibility for the 2010, but so far no page has appeared.

My view is this: after having had the recent wikimanias at Alexandria (2008), Taiwan (2007), Boston (USA) (2006) and with 2009 scheduled for Buenos Aires, there is a strong possibility that people may favour Europe for 2010.

My view is that I would prefer Gdańsk. Although living in London, I would not support the Oxford bid. I think the UK is too expensive, and it would be cheaper for visitors to come to Poland. It could then attract a broader range of people. Secondly Wikipedia already has strong anglophone content, and I would like to see development in other languages encouraged. Hosting a wikimania event in such a language area is an excellent way of doing this. There will be a London wikimeet held on Sunday, and it would be useful to me to know whether any progress on the Gdańsk bid has been made, as this is the bid I would most support.

If you can forward me any information on this it would be most useful.

Strange as it may seem - this page has been coloured red for quite some time - it is not a hoax, it is a placeholder for an offer we're preparing. Right now we're at the stage of "zipping the main ideas up" - we've contacted city authorities, have a rough idea of what the conference may look like, have an idea of the place as well as attractions, etc. Here you may find our temporary wiki - most of which right now is actually in Polish - where we compile ideas, suggestions, artwork and such.

Don't worry - we'll make it.

Hey - I am not dead yet! :) Being a sysop and a steward combined with real life (wife, kiddo and work) and taking care of the Gdańsk bid for Wikimania 2010 was, however, a bit too much for me. I am not giving up Wikimedia completely, I've grown too much into the projects. I don't need my extra-privileged for being a Wikimedian (one who edits mainly in the mainspace and thus spreads the knowledge - that's what we're here for, right?), nor do I need them for the bid. I don't want to be a sleeping sentry - one who is theoretically a <insert function here>, but does not perform his tasks and giving up the buttons was much easier for me than giving up family, work, or Wikimania in the beautiful city where I live :) Thanks for all the cries of support. Pojawiło się już kilka osób, które uważają, że temat Wikimanii powinien być zawarty w programie warsztatów. To nie ma mieć charakteru prezentacji. Raczej chodzi o wyjaśnienie niedomówień, przedstawienie stanu faktycznego działań bez owijania w piękne słowa oraz podjęcie konkretnych kroków. Spotkania Wikimaniowe miały być już podczas tworzenia oferty - były dwa - jaki skutek odniosły wiemy (mierny). Imprezę w głównej mierze organizują Wikipedyści i jest ona robiona dla Wikipedystów więc w ramach GDJ mieści się jak najbardziej. Translation Update

I want to thank you for your help translating throughout this year's fundraiser. The fundraiser has greatly benefited from all your contributions. Currently, the Kartika, Liliaroja, Abbas and Joan Gomà appeals need to be translated, as we are running appeals from editors. You can find all translation requests at the translation hub on meta and you can follow the progress of the fundraiser in real time by tracking the fundraiser statistics. It is important to check the Core Messages as many languages still need updating. Also if you haven't already, you can subscribe to the translators-l mailing list for all new requests and major changes. sorry I'm not sure where I should reply. Thank you for answering.

The reason I want to leave is because I was made feel very unwelcome in Ukrainian wikipedia,where I planned to contribute. It's only one person,but I'm sensitive and I feel harrassed... Besides, I discovered that anyone can follow my contributions on all wiki projects,so I can't feel safe like this. Well,if policy is such that encourages stalking I can't stay... If I change my name and never edit pages I've edited before (there are very few of them) will it mean that I can't be tracked? I wish it was allowed to be "hidden" from users that really bother you. I'm not saying there are a lot of them, but it happened to me at the very beginning... It is very discouraging... Anyway, I don't understand all the nuances... but I would like to start afresh. No connection to this account... I want it to disappear. Then take a vacation as you suggest,although I haven't worked long enough for that... I'm sorry I'm taking your time. dear Wpedzich, I have unhidden the User in Dewiki, because there were no edits at all and so there is no reason to hide the username. (See Oversight policy#Use for details). Dear Sargoth; per the user's request I did a complete hiding of the activity. I am aware that even where there are no edits, there could be a user creation log entry. Although this might be a little contrary to the user's wish, I feel that the user creation log itself shuld be not much of a problem. I am also sure you understand that even though this action was visible locally, it was not an intrusion into de.wiki from my side. Still, thanks for the information. I am totally pro hiding blatant usernames by stewards and being controlled by them locally and strongly support your work in general. and of course, I know, that global actions are niot restricted to dewiki :D in this case, it seemed just a bit overdone. Very good question, I honestly do not know. He clearly intended to vanish, I think, so it's probably immaterial and the account can be left locked given it's been locked for a while. Translator, We need you!

Dear Wpedzich,

You have helped us in previous years with translations and for that we are most grateful. Now we turn towards the 2011/12 fundraiser. It may seem forever away, but work has already begun getting everything ready to go. This year we want to have landing pages covering as many countries in as many languages as possible.

Right now, we want to figure out who is interested in translating for the fundraiser. This year we're hoping to have more of a solidified "core" group of translators that we can count on to have work done by a few key dates, but we'd also welcome help from people who are willing to just help out when they can.
