Roundtable on Digital Cultures[edit]

The Centre for Internet And Society, in collaboration with Meta, is hosting roundtable discussions nationwide to explore the role of digital technologies and online platforms in governance, communication, cultural production, and everyday life. These sessions provide a platform for grassroots organizations, cultural institutions, and regional stakeholders to share their experiences and concerns with web-based tools. Recently, a discussion on 'Digital Cultures' was held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, following successful events on 'Misinformation and Disinformation' in Bengaluru and 'Digital Governance' in Pune. Disinformation and Misinformation in Wikimedia projects[edit]

The past community engagement call focused on Disinformation and Misinformation in Wikimedia projects, as part of WikiConverse India's initiative to engage and involve Wikimedians in combating misinformation and disinformation. The event took place on January 19, 2023 (Friday) at 6 PM IST. A speaker from Wikimedia Foundation's Trust & Safety team discussed various aspects of their work and addressed concerns regarding Disinformation & Misinformation in Wikimedia projects. Roundtable on Digital Access[edit]

The Centre for Internet And Society, in collaboration with Meta, organized a series of roundtable discussions nationwide focusing on digital technologies and online platforms' roles in governance, communication, and cultural production. This was a second discussion around the 'Digital Access' topic with different group of people. Recently, a roundtable discussion on 'Digital Access' was held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, following successful events on 'Misinformation and Disinformation' in Bengaluru, 'Digital Governance' in Pune, and 'Digital Cultures' in Bhopal. The discussion, attended by 26 participants, addressed key questions such as the representation of languages on the internet, the impact of multilingual knowledge websites on communities, the effectiveness of EdTech products in education, and the changes in healthcare delivery due to digital transformation.
