Indic Wiki Improve-a-thon 2022[edit]

Indic Wiki Improve-a-thon 2022 was a 20-day edit-a-thon in which anyone can participate from any local/Indian language. There was a specific theme of the improve-a-thon Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence. The list was updated by the A2K and Marathi Wikimedia User:आर्या जोशी helped to create this list. The event was from 15 December 2022 to 5 January 2023. The Indian communities, affiliates and individuals participated according to their availability and contribute enthusiastically. The idea of the improve-a-thon was to improve and develop content on the Indic/Indian Wikis. The event was not restricted to any particular project. Many individuals and language communities participated in the event. A total of 21 participants showed their interest to participate in this event and three language communities, Odia Wikimedians User Group, Wikimedians of Kerala, and Wikimedians of Santali Language User Group, signed up to contribute together. A total of 7 languages participated in the event: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, and Santali. Project Tiger 2.0 Training[edit]

Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) and WMF's partner in India Access to Knowledge (A2K) program conducted and supported a series of events and activities in India such as edit-a-thons, photowalks, Wiki-workshops, equipment support etc. To support and bridge the knowledge gap online in regional languages, Wikimedia Foundation and Google collaboratively started the Project Tiger initiative in India in 2018. A2K has been the implementation partner for this project in India. As of now, two events are already successfully happened and Project Tiger 2.0's two phases, content writing and Hardware support, are already done. Due to COVID-19 or the lockdown Project, Tiger 2.0's training was not organised. Project Tiger 2.0 winner was the Tamil community and the community utilised its winning prize and they had started a discussion to organise training. Mid-term Report 2022-2023[edit]

CIS-A2K worked on A2K's Mid-term Report for 2022-2023 in January and it was submitted at the end of January. In this report, A2K submitted all the events, activities and statistics in this report. Anyone can read the report here.

International Mother Language Day 2023 Datathon[edit]

International Mother Language Day 2023 Datathon will be a one-week Datathon that is to be conducted from 21 February 2023 to 28 February 2023. CIS-A2K will organise it to celebrate "International Mother Language Day" in 2023. This is an activity for participants who are interested in editing Wikidata and Languages. CIS-A2K already did a Label-a-thon in 2021 to celebrate Mother Language day but that was a one-day activity.
