Steward requests/Global permissions

This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request

 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Global IP block exempt for Perohanych

I have found myself in a blocked IP range. I kindly request exemption from these restrictions, especially for commons, wm-ua, wp-en, wp-pl, wp-ru. Thanks, --Perohanych (talk) 13:58, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for Daclements

I've been an occasional contributor for many years on Wikipedia, but lately owing to my use of VPNs, I have found myself in blocked IP ranges. I kindly request that I be made exempt from these restrictions. I invite you to view my very benign and helpful edits, thanks, --Daclements (talk) 19:39, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You are more likely in need of a local IP block exemption in English Wikipedia. Ruslik (talk) 19:52, 5 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for MartialLEAVES

Per user request in zh-wikipedia Telegram Group, thanks. --Streetdeck Talk09:23, 4 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have not seen this user have a more active cross-wiki editing. Catherine Laurence (discussion) 09:34, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Catherine Laurence: I don't think that cross-wiki activities are essential especially when the requesting user is in China and is blocked for using WMF without VPNs. Znotch190711 (talk) 04:33, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Znotch190711: They can bypass the global ban by requesting for a local ipbe. I don't think it's worth giving gipbe to users who don't have a lot of cross wiki activities, especially those with very few editors. --Catherine Laurence (discussion) 04:40, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Catherine Laurence: All right, but does zhwiki have a clear IPBE rule? Znotch190711 (talk) 04:41, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You can see w:zh:WP:IPBE. Catherine Laurence (discussion) 04:45, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Clear enough, I understand Chinese, thanks. Znotch190711 (talk) 11:43, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for Dvenwu

Limited by the extremely bad international interconnection at China, I have to use proxy servers that from several different providers to access the Internet including Wikipedia, which includes long-term banned Vultr, Linode, Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud, Some of them have even been banned excessively with an exaggeration of /16 by some crazy robots, even HKCSL LTE international roaming for backup also very slow... To solve this problem, I'm applying for my own IP range and AS number that setup a BGP session, but on my phone or public devices(etc. Cybercafe,Library or government agencies) still need to using previous proxy, so I need to request for this permission, Thank --Dvenwu (talk) 01:52, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Super Super Speedy Strongest Support and I am surprised that there is no bot to automatically grant GIPBE to Mainland China users once they are registered. Znotch190711 (talk) 04:31, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for Unravel17

Sorry but I am living in Mainland China, where access to Wikimedia Commons is unstable and often blocked. I need to use open proxy and change my IP from time to time. I hope I can have IP exempt in case of any blockage. --Unravel17 (talk) 09:08, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for Jayab314

@Jon Kolbert: I was falsely caught by a colocation web host block but this host or IP is not a web host. My IP address is 184.105.1.19. The IP address was blocked as it fell in the range of 184.105.0.0/20. I have an account, Jayab314, and I have never been a web host provider or a colocation provider, nor have I ever used an open proxy webhost. I would love to be unblocked as soon as possible as I have projects on Wikipedia I need to get to. Jayab314 (talk) 11:11, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
