Thank you for your edit! That page used to be there before but it was removed later. Can you please confirm that all the current targets are relevant? I don't want to spam anyone :) Best, --Elitre (WMF) (talk) 09:26, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Elitre, It is a subject that matters to everyone, so Kroeg is fine. The users decided earlier that they want to see it there. SHEIC is our technical bar, so yes it should be there as the VE newsletter is technical and also that technical bar serves as archive for these newsletters. And on the VE page is fine too. The user who removed the target acted on his own (again), without any communication on nl-wiki about this, etc. His behaviour is disturbing and causes a lot of trouble which is repaired by various users. If you notice this edit by him again, please revert or let me know. Greetings - Romaine (talk) 11:44, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

Keeping to topic at meta[edit]
Hi Romaine. Bringing issues from other wikis into topic matters encourages those who speak off-topic and create dramaz to repeat their behaviour here. If someone is being problematic then as with other wikis, it can be useful to utilise user talk pages then escalate to admins where the polite approach has not worked. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:49, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hi billinghurst, I had not the intention to import issues from other wikis. But if someone is importing something to bring me in discredit by telling only half the story, I add the rest of it to make sure other people do not get a wrong impression. I have learned that it is better to supplement half of a story to a full picture, because not doing that would normally lead to more dramaz (as we noticed on nl-wiki). The intention of some users is to bring other users in discredit by telling only half the story. The polite approach with this user already failed months ago. Getting attention for it has not resulted in a solution. Romaine (talk) 13:52, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
- Never have an idiotic fight with an idiot, they beat for you experience. Sustaining or fuelling an argument, even with fact, rarely makes any difference to those, and you simply can see that by the import of the discussion and methodology here. So keep yourself nice, then let others deal with the issue. Credibility for you is not an issue through the movement. — billinghurst sDrewth 14:36, 3 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi Romaine! I see that the banner is now active in English Wikipedia. How can be active in Catalan Wikipedia too? There's a clear consensus. The translation is:
Les fotos d'obres en l'espai públic han de romandre a la Viquipèdia
Una proposta del Parlament Europeu posa en perill milers d'imatges de la Viquipèdia.
The link is Viquipèdia:Llibertat de panorama d'Europa --Davidpar (talk) 17:22, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hello Davidpar, The English community is acting on their own. But I can add the Catalan text to their banner and activate it for Catalan speakers in Europe. But I miss a translation in Catalan to be complete. In the banner is the text "Learn more...". Can you translate it to Catalan for me? When provided I will activate it. - Hello Alice Wiegand, That is an excellent idea, thank you! I should have done that, but had missed that because of the large amount of work that the start of Wiki Loves Monuments brings in the final days before the contest starts. I have now added an update to the RfC and I striked the word "sticks". Greetings - Romaine (talk) 17:17, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

Hello Romaine, as we are reorienting the contest this year in Spain (focusing on missing monuments and municipalities). Could you replace the banner text "¡Fotografía un monumento, ayuda a Wikipedia y gana!" by "¡Ayuda a Wikipedia y gana!
Fotografía monumentos y municipios que carecen de fotos."? Thanks! Poco a poco (talk) 16:39, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Poco a poco, It is not possible to adjust this text there, as that would mean that everyone in the world who speaks Spanish gets this message. What I can do instead is creating a separate banner, but that is very unhandy. I have asked someone for help if I can use some javascript to use a different text only in Spain. - Hi Storkk, The list is based on this tool's output. This tool (not my tool) gives as output all the users who have uploaded an image as part of Wiki Loves Earth in 2014. The tool says that you uploaded 3 images as part of Wiki Loves Earth 2014. Checking your uploads I can find three images that you uploaded during the contest period that contain the Wiki Loves Earth template: File:Trabalho de campo.jpg + File:Small fungus in wooded area.jpg + File:Cocoon on tree.jpg. Three images in what you cropped the image or removed the watermark, and afterwards uploaded a new version of the file. So yes, you uploaded a file that participated in Wiki Loves Earth 2014, however as uploader of a newer version you should not have been listed in the tool. The tool is clearly broken and needs to be fixed. My apologies for the bot message, it was not intended for you, but you are welcome to participate if you like. This is a message from the Wikimedia Foundation. Translations are available.
As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are beginning the transition to the new policy.
An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.
The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that OTRS volunteers sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain their access. You are receiving this email because you have been identified as an OTRS volunteer and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy. If you do not sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015, you will lose your OTRS access. OTRS volunteers have a specific agreement available, if you have recently signed the general confidentiality agreement for another role (such as CheckUser or Oversight), you do not need to sign the general agreement again, but you will still need to sign the OTRS agreement.
Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign
If you have any questions or experience any problems while signing the new agreement, please visit this talk page or email me (gvarnumwikimedia.org). Again, please sign this confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain your OTRS access. If you do not wish to retain this access, please let me know and we will forward your request to the appropriate individuals.
Thank you,
Gregory Varnum (User:GVarnum-WMF), Wikimedia Foundation

We're starting a new Wikimedia digest that will be a globally focused hub for important Wikimedia movement and Foundation initiatives. We aim to supplement existing community news outlets while also filling a void left by inactive outlets like the Portuguese Wikipedia's Correio da Wikipédia, for example.
The first article in this series is now ready for translation, and we appreciate help in getting it out to your communities (along with any suggestions you have to improve future posts). I'm looking to publish this late tomorrow in as many languages as possible.

Hi there,
I’m Jethro, and I’m seeking your help in deciding topics for new IdeaLab campaigns that could be run starting next year. Here’s how to participate:
- Learn more about this consultation
- Vote on and submit new campaign topics in the AllOurIdeas Survey
- Discuss campaign topics and ask questions on the IdeaLab talk page
Take care,
I JethroBT (WMF), Community Resources, Wikimedia Foundation. 03:33, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
