ויקימסע
[$wikivoyage ויקימסע]הוא מדריך טיולים אותו כל אחד יכול לערוך. לאחר תקופת בטא שהחלה ב-10 בנובמבר 2012, השקנו באופן רשמי את ויקימסע על שרתי קרן ויקימדיה ב-15 בינואר 2013.
שורשיו של המיזם הבינלאומי נעוצים באתר המטיילים "ויקיטיול" (Wikitravel) שהושק ב-2003 אשר ונכתב לאורך השנים על ידי קהילה גדולה של עשרות אלפי כותבים קבועים או אקראיים מרחבי העולם. אתר זה אף זכה ב-2007 בפרס Webby כאתר הטיולים הטוב ביותר. לאחר מספר גלגולים ומחלוקות, קהילת העורכים של ויקיטיול התאחדה תחת פרויקט "ויקימסע" (Wikivoyage) המופעל על-ידי קרן ויקימדיה, המפעילה גם את ויקיפדיה, ויקיספר ומספר אתרים נוספים.. אנו מצפים להמשיך לכתוב את מדריך הטיולים בשרתי קרן ויקימדיה! תודה על תמיכתכם במיזם!

פורומים
אולם הדיונים משמש לצורך דיונים כללים בנושא ויקימסע ולצורך דיונים בסוגיות שונות אשר משפיעות על כל המהדורות של ויקימסע.
לדף הפסגה היו דוחות חודשיים מגרסאות השפה השונות, אך הוא הוקפא מאז 2018.
רשימת דיוור
הצטרפות לרשימת הדיוור של קהילת ויקימסע אשר במסגרתה נשלחים לחברים בדואר האלקטרוני דיונים שונים אודות סוגיות טכניות שונות וסוגיות שונות הקשורות לקהילת ויקימסע.

יצירה
מהדורות ויקימסע שנוצרו לפני 2013 הנם למעשה גרסאות ש"פוצלו" מאתר האינטרנט ויקיטיול שבו פותח התוכן שלהן במקור. מהדורות ויקימסע שנוצרו ב-2013 ואילך הנם מהדורות חדשות למיזם אשר הושקו באופן רשמי לאחר שהם פותחו במהלך תקופת חממה ("אינקובטור") באתר מטא של קרן ויקימדיה.

ניתן ליצור מהדורות חדשות לויקימסע בשפות אחרות בחלק החממה (האינקובטור) של קרן ויקימדיה. במידה שישנם מספיק משתמשים המעורבים בפיתוח המהדורה החדשה של ויקימסע בחממה, ובמידה שאותם המשתמשים מצליחים לפתח ביחד מספיק ערכים, קרן ויקימדיה תקבל במוקדם או במאוחר החלטה להשיק את אותה המהדורה בתת-דומיין. בקישור שלהלן תוכלו לראות את רשימת המהדורות של ויקימסע הנמצאים כעת בשלבי פיתוח בחלק החממה של קרן ויקימדיה.

Wikidata could be used to:
- Cross-validate listing details,
- Factorize listing details,
- Fill missing listing details,
- Easily add new listings to articles that have too few (what transvoyage does right now),
- Generate static information pages for languages that have no Wikivoyage yet, such as Hindi or Korean,
- And many other things, new mashups appear everyday with Wikidata.
While every Wikivoyage has their own preferences on how far to go with Wikidata, having Wikidata identifier properties in listings helps in all cases.

Because Meta is a vast and wild wiki, we maintain our Meta Wikivoyage specific pages as subpages (e.g., Wikivoyage/Somepage). This makes it obvious they are part of our project and makes it easy to find and update them. All our pages are in English with the exception that translations, when desired, may be created as language code subpages of the respective English page (e.g., in German: Wikivoyage/Somepage/de).

אתגרים
- Copy editing is relatively poor across the project, due to a high number of contributors writing in a language other than their native one.
- As of 2020, Wikitravel remains a strong competitor to Wikivoyage (at least in English). Although its article quality is nearly uniformly inferior as a result of having almost no community of experienced editors, Wikitravel articles tend to outrank Wikivoyage articles in search results, reducing readership and garnering contributions from casual editors unaware of Wikivoyage.
