This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Global rollback for Zabe

Not ending before 3 April 2021 21:21 UTC

Hey, I am active in the SWMT for some time now and I have made a few hundred actions in the course of vandalism fighting. Global rollback permissions would help me a lot doing crosswiki vandalism fighting.

Please note that I was renamed from ZabeMath to Zabe a few days ago.

Regards --Zabe (talk) 21:21, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have editor permissions in dewiki, which contains rollback permissions. --Zabe (talk) 11:30, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, then I Support Support this request. Thanks for volunteering :) -BRP ever 11:32, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Weak support Active in counter vandalism activities but only since February, so I am a bit hesitant to fully support but they seems a good candidate. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 13:32, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose for now. I just don't see enough experience and I find GR to be one of the more sensitive global permissions since it also includes autopatrolled everywhere, but I also find it problematic that they don't appear to have rollbacker on any projects. Praxidicae (talk) 13:48, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I was just made aware that it's bundled on dewiki, but my original points still stand, as I don't see sufficient experience with rollback in general. Praxidicae (talk) 13:52, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global rollback for Jan Myšák

Not ending before 7 April 2021 13:33 UTC

Hi, this is my second request for GR rights, three months after my previous one was deemed premature. I am an active member of the SWMT and revert cross-wiki vandalism using SWViewer. I patrol on larger projects too, namely cswiki (sysop), wikidata (rollbacker) and enwiki (Twinkle user).

Best, --Jan Myšák (talk) 13:33, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

}}
:''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+2 week}} UTC''

Not done. Given that you seem to edit only on zh.wikipedia, it'd be best if you asked the zh.wikipedia administrators for a local IP block exemption instead. Regards, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 14:11, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Interface editor for Benjavalero

I'm interested in having Interface editor permissions in order to edit the JavaScript code in es:MediaWiki:Gadget-CorrectorOrtografico.js, which is used by the Spanish spell-checker. I already have permissions for the server-side script related to this same spellchecker. As a user, I usually perform little fixes in articles related to style and ortography, I maintain a bot and a tool in ToolForge. Thanks in advance. --Benjavalero (talk) 20:32, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

CAPTCHA exemptions for Elli

(originally requested global rollback above before realizing this right would work for my use-case) I've recently been renaming a significant amount of files on Wikimedia Commons, which automatically tries to replace all uses of the old name with the new one. However, if blocked by say, a CAPTCHA, it instead adds it to a list to be processed by c:User:CommonsDelinker, which is not ideal. This right would allow me to skip those CAPTCHAs and replace the image directly, speeding things up. thanks, --Elli (talk) 03:28, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Support Support trusted user, valid use case - see precedent at Steward requests/Global permissions/2013-12#Global exemption to CAPTCHA for Sven Manguard --DannyS712 (talk) 03:30, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support Support --Zabe (talk) 06:14, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support Support Fine. I don't have a problem with your requesting GR though; getting this right does not mean that you can edit semi-protected pages which may (or may not) hinder your workflow. Leaderboard (talk) 17:37, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support Support trusted user with a valid rationale. — csc-1 01:35, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
