I am reaching out to you because you signed up to receive updates about the Global Wikimedia survey.[1]

We will be hosting a public event online to present the data, a few examples on how teams will be using it for annual planning, and what are next steps for this project. You can watch the livestream here, and ask question via IRC on #wikimedia-office.

Re: A conference in Milano[edit]

Of course I remember you! Meeting the Wiktionary folks was the highlight of that Wikimania for me. I now live in Helsinki, but I'll gladly read your paper. You mention Mediazione, so I suppose it's in Sesto (piazza Montanelli), right? My parents' house is on the opposite side of the city, but if you want we may be able to host you. You should also join the Wikimedia Italia staff for lunch at BASE: it would be a good opportunity to talk a bit about Wiktionary and maybe publish an interview or guest post on the WMIT blog. --Nemo 06:33, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. I understand the struggle: I think the last meeting where we had at least 3 wiktionarians in Italy was a few years ago in Rome. Please email francesca.ussani@wikimedia.it to arrange the lunch at the WMIT office if/when you have more info and feel like it. --Nemo 07:48, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Community Wishlist Survey[edit]

Hi,

You get this message because you’ve previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey. I just wanted to let you know that this year’s survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until 11 November: Community Wishlist Survey 2019.

You can vote from November 16 to November 30. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won’t send out a separate reminder to you about that. /Johan (WMF) 11:24, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Community Wishlist[edit]

Hello, you expressed an endorsement on this wish: Community Wishlist Survey 2019/Editing/Autocomplete summaries in VisualEditor. Do you want to give a support vote too? --Dvorapa (talk) 18:51, 18 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Of course, thank you for the reminder! FYI, you don't have to vote to your own proposal, your voice is already counted Noé (talk) 19:14, 18 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

About your e-mail address[edit]

Hello@Noé:, i want to discuss some issues of Punjabi Wiktionary (pa.wiktionary.org). If you have no problem please give me your e-email address or send me massage on my e-mail- Stalinjeetbrar@gmail.com , Thanks --Stalinjeet Brar (talk) 07:19, 18 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. You are receiving this message because you are active in the field of translations <3 The movement needs you! The Nominations phase has started for the ongoing selection process of two Board members, and the timeline is quite tight.

A Translation Central is available to help translators figure out what's been covered and what's left to do. Over the course of the next few weeks, your attention on candidates' profiles is particularly welcome.

While there are four languages that are especially relevant for multiple affiliates (namely Arabic, French, Russian and Spanish), you can also add others. If you can't help: please see if you know anyone in your circle who could, and spread the word :) Thank you! Elitre (WMF) and Facilitators of ASBS 2019, 13:20, 18 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

LexiSession[edit]

Salut l'ami. Forgive my rudeness in continuing in English but my bad French would take some work to decipher :) So I just noticed (three months later) that the LexiSession project ended. I guess there was not enough interest...? (I think I said at the time that individual users tend to have their own small projects, but I did like the idea of a community thing.) Have you written anything about the experience of this project that other people could learn from? best, Equinox (talk) 01:22, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Equinox! The LexiSession project is not stopped, I didn't keep updated every pages. As this project is mainly successful in French Wiktionary, I only maintain this part active. But, not quite well to be honest, as my actual job + publishing French Wiktionary monthly news doesn't let me so much time to support the TWUG. I am think of a report, it's a good idea, tho Noé (talk) 17:00, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The TWUG on space.wmflabs.org[edit]

Hello Noé

A few months ago, WMF opened a new discussion space. Since our user group has some difficulties to communicate (not everyone sees the messages that are posted on Talk:Wiktionary/Tremendous_Wiktionary_User_Group), I asked for a dedicated forum for the TWUG to be opened. It's happening here (there is no topic so far).

From now on, I invite you to follow the category to be informed as soon as a new topic is created. Pamputt (talk) 19:02, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Community Wishlist Survey 2020[edit]

Hello!

You are getting this message because you've previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey, in either the Wikisource or Wiktionary categories. I wanted to let you know that this year's survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until November 11. Unlike previous years, we are only accepting proposals for non-Wikipedia content projects with no dedicated teams (i.e., Wikibooks, Wiktionary, Wikiquote, Wikisource, Wikiversity, Wikispecies, Wikivoyage, and Wikinews). You can learn more on the survey page.

You can vote on proposals from November 20 to December 2. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won't send out a separate reminder to you about that. We look forward to your participation. Thank you! IFried (WMF) (talk) 18:52, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks MusikAnimal and IFried (WMF)! I have already wrote two proposals today. Noé (talk) 19:58, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Community Wishlist Survey 2020 needs translations[edit]

Hello!

I'm contacting you because you've already translated some messages for the Community Wishlist Survey. We need more translations for the 2020 edition, to create a survey that would serve as many users as we know.

The list below shows our needs by order of importance (most important first):

  1. The invitation sent to communities. It summarizes the process. We plan to distribute it soon on this year target wikis. The more translations we have, the better!
  2. The form for non-English speakers. Anyone should be able to add their wish, no matter which language they speak. Translating this short form is very important to encourage diversity and equity.
  3. The survey itself, where the entire process is described.
  4. The preload form, that provides more context on existing wishes.

Some languages are already covered (maybe by you), but some messages have been updated, and there is always some room for reviewing and polishing messages.

Thank you in advance for your help! This survey can't be successful without your assistance. :)

About WMF UCoC[edit]

Hello Noé; my name is Mervat and I am contacting you seeking help to reach out to the members of the Tremendous Wiktionary User Group. I didn't find the contact information to communicate with, I noticed maybe you are responding to the topics in this Discussion page. The idea is that we are trying to reach out to the members of different affiliates to discuss the objectives and people's expectations and concerns about the universal code of conduct that the Wikimedia Foundation Board voted recently creating it for all Wikimedia projects. I want to invite your community to be part of the consultation process.⁣ I will send a survey in which members can express their thoughts and concerns, and I am willing conduct meetings if anyone would like to discuss verbally. So for now, I am seeking your advise on what's the best way to contact members? shall I deliver a message in the group's page in meta? can we use a mailing list (I prefer that because almost everyone will receive the message), or shall I contact the user names listed in the group's page individually? I appreciate your kind help. --Mervat (WMF) (talk) 11:38, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Mervat
Our UG is not very active, and the mailing list is not in use by the group but broadly by few people interested by Wiktionary in general. The best way is to contact the users through their individual pages. But if you want feedbacks from Wiktionarians, it is better to publish on the community pages. You can pick the twelve most actives projects and you will reach the people most interested by this topic. As you may not know, I inform you that some person in the French Wiktionary community may not welcome you very well as T&S banned a sysop in a very indelicate way few years ago. --Noé (talk) 12:15, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your reply. This is helpful. Best. --Mervat (WMF) (talk) 18:52, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sunday August 23: Strategic Wikimedia Affiliates Network meeting[edit]

Strategic flock of Wikimedians heading in a new direction.

The Strategic Wikimedia Affiliates Network (SWAN) is a proposed forum for all Wikimedia movement affiliates to share ideas on the Wikimedia 2030 strategy process. It expands on the model of the All-Affiliates Brand Meeting to help lay some of the groundwork for a future Global Council.

The idea is to follow up on the All-Affiliates Brand Meeting and other strategic and outreach topics of mutual concern to all affiliates, and you are all invited to RSVP here.--Pharos (talk) 15:26, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Insert attestation using Wikisource as a corpus[edit]

The team has added this to our 2021 backlog, so there's no need to re-propose it. Sorry for the confusion. I've updated the language at Community Wishlist Survey 2020/Results accordingly. MusikAnimal (WMF) (talk) 16:57, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I read the notice about the backlog but it wasn't completely clear. Thank you for having fixing it!

Cordialement, Papischou (talk) 11:09, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Salut Papischou et salut Adélaïde Calais WMFr !
Merci.
Cordialement, Papischou (talk) 18:58, 28 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
