*Some changes in the job queue, unrelated to the Translation Notification extension, broke it: bugzilla:42715. Translation administrators shouldn't use the feature before the bug is fixed, but a temporary lock may help: it won't stop emails, but perhaps it will stop edits on other wikis. (No dev is working on fixing the job queue, so we need a workaround.) Thanks, Nemo 10:20, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

:done per discussion on IRC. Not sure that it will work, but per Jhs' comments it might. Snowolf How can I help? 10:53, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Requests for global (un)block

Global unblock for 50.16.230.151

Status:    complete

This is the IP address of my AWS EC2 instance. I use this server as the endpoint of a SOCKS5-over-SSH tunnel to encrypt network traffic when using public wifi networks It is an AWS elastic IP assigned to my account, but is being caught up in the general AWS block: "Cross-wiki spam: Amazon Web Services - Service has been used for trojan/spam attacks - Little or no good edits." Also e-mailing info@wikimedia.org, per instructions on block message. --DataGazetteer (talk) 20:12, 25 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

I can grant you an IP block exemption on EnWiki, where you mainly edit. Ruslik (talk) 05:24, 26 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Yes, please -- that would be great. Thank you. 50.16.230.151 11:25, 26 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
If you have a global account, we could grant it an IP exemption. — billinghurst sDrewth 11:30, 26 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
I just followed the appropriate link to activate my SUL across all of the wikimedia projects. DataGazetteer (talk) 11:41, 26 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thank you -- much appreciated. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by DataGazetteer (talk) 12:21, 26 October 2012

Global unblock for 108.61.47.139

Status:    In progress

This IP address is not an open proxy. It belongs to the paid VPN service Private Internet Access. I use this VPN regularly on public wifi networks to encrypt my network traffic. --Stephen Gilbert (talk) 03:52, 4 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Requests for global (un)lock and (un)hiding

Global unblock for BilCat

Status:    In progress

I primarily edit on EN:WP, and have encountered global blocks when I edit though Amazon's Web service. I asked an admin on ENWP (privately) to unblock me from ENWP, but he said that I should ask a steward. I rarely edit cross-wiki from Amazon's service, but I may do so if the need arises. - BilCat (talk) 03:19, 6 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'm no steward, but I suggest you consider requesting Global IP block exemption on SRGP. Technical note: you're asking for a global unblock, not a global unlock: locks are for accounts, global blocks are for IPs. πr2 (tc) 03:23, 6 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Then I'm totally confused :) Thanks. - BilCat (talk) 03:28, 6 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
I've asked there now. This can be removed/archived. Thanks. - BilCat (talk) 03:41, 6 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
