This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Global IP block exempt for Heffalump1974
- Global user: Heffalump1974 (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
Currently can't edit articles on ru-wiki while using VPN (cause some Russian sites, even search engines and e-mail services are blocked due to complicated political affairs with the Ukraine, my home country), thanks, --Heffalump1974 (talk) 13:25, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

Global IP block exempt for Dqwyy
- Global user: Dqwyy (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
Hi, I'm a Wikipedian from Mainland China, where Japanese Wikipedia was blocked recently. I make some cross-wiki contributions (not only at Japanese Wikipedia) with the help of proxy sometimes. I'm not sure whether other wikis will be blocked or not in the future. So I would like to get the global IPBE. Thanks. --dqwyy (talk) from zhwiki 16:41, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

Global rename for Nihlus
- Wiki: meta.wikimedia.org (list 'crats • bot policy • summary • 'crats rights)
- User: Nihlus (talk • edits • logs • UserRights • activity • CentralAuth • email • verify 2FA)
- Not ending before 5 February 2018 17:15 UTC
Hello everyone, I'm Nihlus. I'd like to help out the global renaming processing by going for the global renamer bit as I frequently come across requests that are awaiting a renamer response. I am mainly active on the English Wikipedia but would be able to handle requests in Spanish as well (en-N, es-2). I am an abuse filter helper on the English Wikipedia as well as an OTRS agent. Additionally, I have extensive first hand experience with the renaming process: meta, en-Simple, en-Usurp. Furthermore, I have worked behind the scenes with a Steward as well as a separate global renamer on building a solid understanding of the guidelines and learning how to deal with unusual or different requests since a lot of it goes off of the global renamer's judgment. Though it goes without saying, I am familiar with the Global Renamer Policy as well as the tools used to process global renames. Nihlus 17:15, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support - Nihlus has been heavily involved helping with requests on SRUC here, and on CHUS/CHUU on enwiki. He has a good grasp of the global renaming policy, and the practices that should be followed on both projects. I have no qualms about his ability to properly rename users. – Ajraddatz (talk) 18:52, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support Per Ajraddatz. Trusted and Experienced User. —Alvaro Molina (✉ - ✔) 21:57, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support actively involved on SRUC --Alaa :)..! 23:41, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose Sorry, not now. You have less than 10k edits (9k on en), no x-wik ness, no sysop tools on a wiki, etc. Imho not experienced enough. --Steinsplitter (talk) 10:39, 23 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support Fine by me, and admin tools are (afaik) not required for the global rename right. Trijnsteltalk 14:02, 23 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support definately. Clear need. --Atcovi (Talk - Contribs) 14:11, 23 January 2018 (UTC)
- Strong support Clear need for the bit, and in my opinion, his experience is more than sufficient. The less than 10k is something irrelevant in my opinion; having 9,500 or 19,500 isn't big deal or relevant in any way with the ability to decide properly regarding rename requests. And the not a sysop part is of little importance to me. He has demonstrated with his work at the venues stated in his statement that he has solid judgment, so clearly support. --Kostas20142 (talk) 17:34, 23 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support - there is no reason to oppose here. This user has enough experience to get this right. --Ks-M9 [disc.] 18:34, 23 January 2018 (UTC).
- Support I have no concerns at all from my interactions with Nihlus, and I also trust ajr's judgement implicitly. TonyBallioni (talk) 00:08, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support per Ajraddatz. --Eurodyne (talk) 07:52, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support Does a good job on the English Wikipedia. Sufficient knowledge, reliable. See no reason to oppose. Taketa (talk) 13:18, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support Mahveotm (talk) 23:48, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support Maybe can help handle request for renaming fastly. Murbaut (talk) 23:53, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
