Meeting with Ecological Society & Prof Madhav Gadgil[edit]

CIS-A2K has partnered with the Ecological Society to conduct thematic workshops for creating knowledge on rivers and biodiversity. The Ecological Society is an organisation working on ecology research, environmental education and sustainable development. It has a knowledge repository in the form of journals, reports, images and books. Prof. Madhav Gadgil, a scientist and pioneering expert in ecological sciences in India is also supporting the Wikimedia movement and CIS-A2K's work in various ways. As both of them expressed interest to contribute to Wikimedia projects regarding environmental knowledge, a joint meeting was held on 1 September 2022 to develop the process and structure. Relicensing of 10 books in Marathi[edit]

The Nayakawadi trust approached CIS-A2K to develop an archive on Wikimedia projects to make all the content related to Nagnathanna. This content consists of books about his life, photographs, handwriting, videos and speeches. The introductory session on Wikimedia projects was organised for trustees, management and family members at the office of Hutatma Cooperative Sugar Factory, Walwa. The trust has created a website to disseminate the information. After understanding the potential of Wikimedia projects, the trustees have decided to relicense all the content into a free license. The first set of four books was relicensed, digitised and uploaded on Wikimedia Commons in the category - Nagnath Naikwadi. Nagnath Nayakawadi popularly known as Nagnathnanna, was an Indian Freedom fighter, social reformer, politician and educationist from Walwa in the Sangli district of Maharashtra. Impact report 2021-2022[edit]

Access to Knowledge (A2K) submitted its impact report for the program year 1 June 2021 – 30 June 2022. The report contains the programmatic report (program stories and narratives, supported by metrics) and the financial report. This year A2K has continued their work to design Wikimedia initiatives, including activities and events, and support Indian Wikimedia projects and the communities. CIS-A2K has conducted two iterations of a national-level Wikisource proofread-a-thon. Gujarati Wikisource Community skill-building workshop[edit]

CIS-A2K is conducting an advanced-level Wikisource workshop, continuous sustainable road maps, future plans, and GLAM development towards Wikisource projects in respective languages. The series of Wikisource Community skill-building is still going on Punjabi Wikisource Community Skill-building, Assamese Wikisource Community skill-building workshop already conducted and the third workshop is already conducted in the month of September. It was organised from 24 to 26 September for the Gujarati Wikisource community and there was an informal meeting on 23rd September in the evening. The workshop engaged 12 participants in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
