Steward requests/Global permissions
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

ADD Global IP block exempt for Marek Torba
- Global user: Marek Torba (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
Hi, I would like to ask for an IP block exemption for the abovementioned user. As noted on his pl.wiki userpage, this is a staffer of a Polish museum (Wawel Royal Castle in Cracow), taking a part in the most recent GLAM partnership of Wikimedia Polska. The global IP block removal is vital for e.g. Commons work and upload. On behalf of the WMPL, aegis maelstrom δ 19:14, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

Abusefilter helper for Abusefilter global search service account
- Global user: Abusefilter global search service account (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
Hello everyone! I'm currently developing a tool for AbuseFilter developers, to make it easier to query all Wikimedia abuse filters. This is useful, because it allows to fix filters that would be affected by a breaking change in AF's code. The tool will be available at https://search-filters.toolforge.org. Because fetching all filters takes about ten minutes, I'm caching all filters in the tool's database, which makes all searches to run smoothly. To avoid putting any credentials for my steward account at toolforge, I want to use this service account instead. This account will only fetch all abuse filters to a database, and then the tool can run queries over it.
Thanks, Martin Urbanec writing via --Abusefilter global search service account (talk) 21:06, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
I confirm this is my account. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 21:06, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
- Seems reasonable, basically a bot account and assuming that continuing access would require that the operator continues to have or exceed the access of the account I support this. — xaosflux Talk 21:22, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux: for the record, the intent is to use the tool to expose the results via toolforge to users other than the operator --DannyS712 (talk) 21:44, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
- That's right. Note the tool isn't available to anyone who doesn't have abusefilter-view and abusefilter-view-private across all wikis (right now, stewards, global AF helpers, and global AF maintainers). --Martin Urbanec (talk) 21:55, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux: for the record, the intent is to use the tool to expose the results via toolforge to users other than the operator --DannyS712 (talk) 21:44, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
- Support This tool brings a huge improvement to the process used to find filters that are going to be affected by backend changes. As such, I believe that it should always be in condition to operate quickly, efficiently, and without hacks (like Martin using his personal account). --Daimona Eaytoy (talk) 23:12, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
