This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop, global rename, …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).
Please note that Global rollbackers discussions are not votes. Comments must present specific points in favor of or against a user's approval.
Instructions for making a request
Before requesting, make sure that:
You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag
To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
|status = <!-- don't change this line -->
|domain = global <!-- don't change this line -->
|user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''
The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions, no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

:''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+2 week}} UTC''
The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than two weeks (no exceptions are allowed no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential. Please note: Since 2019 all global sysops are required to have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled.
Hello, thank you for reading my request. As I am fighting cross-wiki vandalism, cleaning copyvios, reverting bad edits for a while. Community granted me GR two years ago and being involved in the cross-wiki work has taught me to deal with vandalism and bad edits in those languages which I don't know. I have been sysop on two projects mrwikisource(Permanent) and mrwikibooks(temporary) for 2+years. So I know how to use and (definitely!)how not to use the sysop and interface sysop permissions. I take things slowly and when I am unsure I allow others to take up the task. And I know I won't miss use the permissions. thanks QueerEcofeminist🌈17:55, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Yahya, thanks for your question, I checked with the edit and history of the page. This particular edits seems to be my grave mistake in identifying the bad edit. But I am sure this must be one in few mistakes I must have made. Thanks again for pointing it out. QueerEcofeminist🌈00:11, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
w:bn:Special:Diff/5678358 this particular unexplained link removal was the trigger. Which edit was just a minute before the edit in question. Though in larger picture this ip did good edits but lack of edit summaries lead me to this bad judgement. Obviously I should have waited for sometime as I do wait and see before I revert. Thanks for the learning. QueerEcofeminist🌈00:33, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
New user pasting chunk of text in one edit grabbed my attention, so I marked it with copypaste tag. So that local admins will do the further inquiry and do the needful. And sandbox or any page we can't keep the text if it is copyrighted. Thanks QueerEcofeminist🌈02:32, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It appears to be but only literature expert can only confirms it as sanskrit writing systems makes it difficult to identify using earwigs tools like we can in other languages. It's a interpretation/original work of pd work shishupal vadh so it falls under questionable, so requesting attention was the only intention. Thanks QueerEcofeminist🌈02:56, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose I think they need a bit more experience. Diffs above combined with few requests are SRG, which should have clearly been dealt with locally makes me lean towards this side.--BRP ever13:05, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose - I'm sorry, but I have more or less the same concerns as BRPever. I previously evaluated the number of requests and noted that there have been rather few lately (also accounting for private requests via IRC etc.). I will be happy to support another request in the future, providing you gained slightly more experience. --Daniuu (talk) 15:38, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose Sorry to pile on, but I've seen some issues as the ones pointed out/linked above (the specific diffs shown being recent enough to warrant consideration IMHO), which does not spark confidence in me that you are experienced enough for the toolset (considering that there is no easy way to review all GS actions by a user like there is for cross-wiki reverts/edits). Thank you for volunteering. ~~~~ User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk)02:56, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
OpposeAnother one. My 2c, only act in cases of pure vandalism/spam/nonsense (as you seem to be acting in content issues on wiki which language you don't know). Take it as feedback and don't get discouraged. Hope to see you again with improvements. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 03:22, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I think it's enough, I should withdraw my request. I have got plenty of instructions to improve and it's not going to be reversed in overnight. Thanks all of you, for voicing concerns. QueerEcofeminist🌈07:28, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
When you give someone global rename rights, please add them to the list of global renamers and ask them to subscribe to the global renamers' mailing list.

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than two weeks (no exceptions are allowed no matter how obvious the result may seem). While all input is welcome, there is a hard 80% support requirement for this role as per the global renamer policy.
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions. Please review Global IP block exemption. You may request Global IP block exemption via stewardswikimedia.org if you can not edit this page.
Please note: Global IP block exemption does NOT make one immune to locally-created blocks of any sort, only global blocks.
If you want to edit the Chinese Wikipedia, usually global IP block exemptions will not help you. Please see this instruction to request a local IP block exemption.

<Hi, would like to apply since i often use a VPN to access sites normally blocked for people from the EU due to lacking regard for GDPR compliance. This includes, as a relevant example, many American news sources for usage as part of my work on Wikipedia. Even if I have not used them yet, I very much intend to on the en-wiki. I know i am quite new and have done mostly small edits and copyediting or recently a translation to German on meta-wiki (see IP block exempt). Earlier today, while attempting to correct some spelling and grammar mistakes on an article in the German Wikipedia, I suddenly received a message about being blocked for 1 year due to usage of an open proxy. I quickly switched off the VPN, after which I could not find that block or notfication anymore. I first went to the local Administrator ’s site for requests of that Wiki, the de-wiki, and posted my request there, where an Admin (specifically Johannnes89 recomended me to instead apply here, see this thread >, thanks, --Gameknighter (talk) 17:56, 7 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi the user was affected by a global proxy block, judging from the details of the block message mentioned at dewiki [1]. I would grant him a local IP block exempt. But as he's also doing some translations on Meta and wants to contribute to enwiki as well, I thought global IP block exempt might be more useful instead of him having to request local exemptions in multiple projects. --Johannnes89 (talk) 18:55, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Operator873: Thank you, I have also requested access to the 2-FA Tester Group, so i can then add 2-FA to my account, as you recommended. Have a great day!
Hello. I need this right because of some existing problem with my internet and in order to continue to contribute. Of course, I problem a lot without this right. I request your evaluation. Good days. Thanks. Kind regards, Dancewithdevil (talk) 15:27, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The current block on azwiki is concerning for me to consider block exemption. Since Wikipedia doesn't allow anonymizing proxies or VPNs, I advise you to try turning your VPN off to resolve the issue. If there is a reason you require the VPN to access Wikimedia projects, please contact the Stewards on UTRS. Operator873 connect07:54, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Operator873, the block has nothing to do with it. The block was unfounded and almost all the admins objected to it, and then the blocker reduced the time. You can look. Actually, I had this right on the local wikipedia for a long time, but it was unfoundedly taken from me. I made a request and my reasons were unfounded and ignored. Understanding was not shown and the right was not given to me. I don't know the reason either. I use VPN because my internet has access restrictions. So I use VPN most of the time and I contribute to more than one Wikipedia project. In short, I need this right in order to continue my contributions. P.S. I have this right on Tr Wikipedia. You can check. Thanks. Dancewithdevil (talk) 10:57, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
hello. Without warning, it became impossible to edit the Japanese version of Wikipedia due to IP involvement. And we need this right so that we can contribute. Thank you.
<Hi, i have recently been granted global IP block exempt and the granting steward reccommended me to also add 2-FA to my account, see #Global IP block exempt for Gameknighter or Permalink. I have read the 2-FA help page and already have Google Authenticator installed on my phone for several other websites or services etc. requiring 2-FA>, thanks, --Gameknighter (talk) 12:48, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
