User blocked by spambot filter by mistake

233 is a log only filter, its being prevented by Special:AbuseFilter/72, which I don't believe I've ever changed DannyS712 (talk) 15:25, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
It matched one of the keywords in the first version of AF#72, which is still there though being refactored. I kind of hesitate to remove it as I don't know the FP rate here. --WhitePhosphorus (talk) 05:41, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
My experience (probably have reviewed ~1K filter 72 log entries in total) is that the whole filter has about 2 or 3 hits per day that could generally be considered "false positives", though this also includes some evident self-promotion. Not sure about any specific keywords though. ~~~~

@Valerio Bozzolan: The user is hitting our spam filters for new users who do something like NTSAMR. Re-writing the filter when they hit the integral part of the filter is difficult. It has a very low edit count threshold, so the direction to users is to go about their normal business and it quickly will not be problematic.  — billinghurst sDrewth 22:53, 2 September 2021 (UTC)

Request for semi-protection on my user pages

Hi, I'm not really a metawiki user, so apologies if this is the wrong place to ask, but I keep getting cross-wiki pings for vandalism/LTA edits to my talk page (both here and on Commons) - which all seem to be replacing the contents with {{Deceased}} or terrorist group insignia. Could both User talk:Zudo and perhaps User:Zudo both be semi-protected, or whatever the equivalent here is? Thanks. Zudo (talk) 20:04, 2 September 2021 (UTC)

User adding uselles local file description on file from commons

@Tukang Patrol I've deleted all the files and categories with no relevance to our project scope. I'm not sure if we have any policy on local description pages, so I've kept the Wikimedia-related ones for further discussion. ~~~~

Blocked Enough ROPE given here, I think what they did on SRG, on my talkpage and elsewhere on meta doesn't reflect what a positive contributor to meta should be acting. User:NR deblocked

User was inserting >100 apparently machine CNBanner translations; I've blocked them for three days for now, but this is clearly a sock, even according to their own userpage (and I'm pretty sure I've seen the image they had posted onto their user talk page already). Does anyone know of whom? ~~~~

Thanks for noting this here; I blocked the account on Incubator as well where he did much of the same stuff (inserting machine translations in multiple languages). This guy is a regular on RNL pages and on Incubator, but I forgot what the original name was or how we call him, if any. Hello! I'm managing a project to extend the OpenRefine software with Structured Data on Commons features; many international Wikimedians will probably like to stay up to date with this work. Hello, thank you for reverting vandalism. I will caution however for revert warring with vandals which is counterproductive. Please seek admin help. For page move vandalism, I will think anyone without supressredirect right should leave for those who have to do so. Let me try to restore the page history (me being the page creator anyway). Perceived personal attack by 維基百科最忠誠的反對者

Recently WMF banned some Chinese users from the Wikimedians of Mainland China. User:維基百科最忠誠的反對者 called them "wiki-terrorists" here. I asked them to retract this egregious personal attack and severe accusation, but they refused. This usergroup has about 300 members many of which in good standing. Even the banned users should not be called "wiki-terrorists", because being banned from a website on the internet does not amount to being "wiki-terrorists". @4nn1l2:Firstly, I would like to protest against the misleading and presumed malicious nature of the title. Under the principle of presumption of innocence, I cannot be accused of "personal attack" by such misleading titles until the personal attack is established. In normal, calling user(s) "wiki-terrorists" is clearly a personal attack and incivility. I must note that remaining civility is not only to the unblocked user, also include the blocked/banned user and everyone (Well, you will not call LTA as "terrorists" or "psychiatric patient", right?).
