This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop, global rename, …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).
Please note that Global rollbackers discussions are not votes. Comments must present specific points in favor of or against a user's approval.
Instructions for making a request
Before requesting, make sure that:
You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag
To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request

|user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''
The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions, no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.
Hello all! I'm mostly active on the Turkish Wikipedia, where I have patroller rights. I've been monitoring small (and some custom) wikis with SWViewer in the recent months, mostly reverting vandalism on simplewiki, nlwiki and Turkic projects, but certainly not limited to only these. GR will help a lot with combating xwiki vandalism. Thanks! ~StyyxTalk?^-^12:56, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than two weeks (no exceptions are allowed no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential. Please note: Since 2019 all global sysops are required to have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled.
Hello everybody. I'd like to request global rename permission to assist rename request and my main focus would be urwiki where I'm serving as a eliminator since september 2020 (voting). I've been assisting admins since I became eliminator on ur wiki and saving pages from vandalism. I'm requesting this flag because there is no global renamer on ur wiki that's why we often face issues and had directed users to request on meta for renaming. Thank you... Hasan (talk) 02:43, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(Edit: Per below clarification, I will Oppose this as the lack of sysop rights on a content project. The reason I'm opposing because of lack of sysop rights is because if they have all the rights of an admin, why aren't they an admin yet? SHB2000 (talk | contibs))
Weak support While this is not full adminship, I still think that the eliminator user group shows enough trust already – unlike a similar flag on ruwiki, this one allows for blocking as well, and it don't seem like there are too many important permissions missing from the admin toolset. ~~~~ User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk)23:25, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support: urwiki's eliminator user group basically is sysop except for the ability to change rights. With the three core tools of the set, blocking, protecting and deleting, a part of the group, I can treat the eliminator group as being equivalent to sysop, satisfying my main criterion for renamer. Additionally, the lack of renamers on urwiki would be further grounds to grant the requestor renamer rights. JavaHurricane11:26, 8 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Neutral. Eliminator is so called granted by sysops after a vote, which makes the user trusted in their local community. However, I do not see there is a need for another renamer from ur (if I recall correctly there is one already), is the load from ur that great? I am not saying there is a lack of trust but is there a sustained need. Do correct me if I am wrong and will be happy to support. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 07:33, 9 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Ulubatli Hasan Hello, what I mean is that there is already a renamer who claims they can understand ur per this list and is there any big backlogs coming from ur which the global queue system is unable to clear. I am all for someone who have unique language skills, but my thinking is that is there a need for one more user holding a flag if the load isn't that high in the first place? Just my thoughts. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 08:51, 9 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Camouflaged Mirage I'm thinking the same too. If Ulubatli Hasan is trusted enough with the tools of a sysop kit, then why are they not a sysop? It's something that has got me concerned that we're missing something here. SHB2000 (talk | contibs) 09:39, 9 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
SHB2000 I've not applied adminship because of previous two nominations (first and second) where users (mostly admins) have rejected both nominations saying that there is no need for more admins. (edit: I've never applied for adminship. Both nominations are of different users).. Hasan (talk) 13:34, 9 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@SHB2000: You are misunderstanding I think, the nomination they linked are of different users and I think they meant to say that as those two other user got no support from current admins, it implied to them that there's no need for more admins, so they never applied. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 05:30, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Question: You said in application
I'm requesting this flag because there is no global renamer on ur wiki that's why we often face issues and had directed users to request on meta for renaming.
Weak oppose When a user is not a sysop, I personally look if the user is helping in renaming related areas but it looks like they have no experience in such areas, so I am hesitant if they know how the renaming works. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 14:43, 9 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support These eliminator rights contain the key admin tools: block, protect and delete. Quite a few global renamers rename users who may need a rename after a block. The other tools involved in the admin toolkit (abuse filter, user rights etc.) aren't as relevant to what a global renamer actually does. So whilst Ulubatli Hasan doesn't have "sysop" rights, and therefore may not fulfill some people's criteria, the experience in other sysop areas is not/not as relevant to the global renamer rights, so I am supporting. --Ferien (talk) 19:33, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support, as eliminator contains the tool in the admin toolkit which is most relevant to what a global renamer does, and the candidate seems strong otherwise.Jackattack1597 (talk) 23:28, 11 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Weak support - It is not necessary to be an Sysop for this role, but if any content wiki has Sysop rights, I will feel comfortable full support him/her. --MdsShakil (talk) 04:54, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions. Please review Global IP block exemption. You may request Global IP block exemption via stewardswikimedia.org if you can not edit this page.
Please note: Global IP block exemption does NOT make one immune to locally-created blocks of any sort, only global blocks.
If you want to edit the Chinese Wikipedia, usually global IP block exemptions will not help you. Please see this instruction to request a local IP block exemption.

The request will be approved if there is demonstrated need for the permission, such as bypassing a global block from someone who is not the intended target.
Comment Translation: I am appointed by Mixed Elements to edit, update the company pages on wiki. It's valid request, please give me IPBE. Seems Spammy / COI-ish. Suggest we just decline this. There's 2 accounts anyway, the account that made this request isn't the same per the account they are requesting on. This is as a sidenote.
