This page is for requests to have stewards grant or revoke administrator, bureaucrat, checkuser, and oversight rights on Wikimedia projects which do not have a local permissions procedure.

Old sections are archived. The list of archives is below.

 • Requests for bot flags are handled at SRB, and requests for global permissions are handled at SRGP.
 • If you are requesting adminship or bureaucratship, and your wiki has a local bureaucrat, submit your request to that user or to the relevant local request page (index).
 • For urgent requests, such as to combat large-scale vandalism on a small wiki, contact a steward in the #wikimedia-stewardsconnect IRC channel. In emergencies, type !steward in the channel to get the attention of stewards. Otherwise, you can type @steward for non-urgent help.

Other than requests to remove your own access or emergencies, please only make requests here after gaining the on-wiki approval of your local community.

Using this page

1. Place the following code at the bottom of the appropriate section below:

Username@xxproject
(your remarks) ~~~~

2. Fill in the values:

 • domain: the wiki's URL domain (like "ex.wikipedia" or "meta.wikimedia").
 • user name: the name of the user whose rights are to be changed (like "Exampleuser"). In case you're requesting access for multiple bots, leave this field blank and give a list of these bots in your remarks
 • discussion: a link to the local vote or discussion about the rights change (for example, "ex:Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship#ExampleUser"). This should normally be for at least one week, but no more than three weeks (if so, you'll need to restart the process).

3. If anything is missing from your request, a steward will request more information.

Confirmation of signing confidentiality agreement

Certain permissions (notably CheckUser and Oversight) additionally require users to sign a confidentiality agreement. Users requesting these permissions must make a request below, and must also sign the confidentiality agreement with the Wikimedia Foundation. The request is placed on hold temporarily, until the receipt has been formally confirmed by the Office.

محمد الجداوي@ar.wiktionary

Hello. I was granted a temporary access that will end in 15 July. I demand extension of my adminship.M.Gedawy Talk 06:04, 11 July 2012 (UTC) [reply]

 On hold until 18 July. Trijnsteltalk 15:14, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Please note that my username has changed to "Avocato".--Avocato (talk) 17:02, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
User Avocato currently does have sysop rights on ar.wiktionary. Pundit (talk) 18:06, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
@Pundit: Correct, he got that in January for 6 months. Now he asks for an extension. Trijnsteltalk 21:48, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for pointing it out. Since it is a non-technical request, and since I don't speak the language, I'd rather refer this case to more experienced stewards. Pundit (talk) 22:32, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done Granted for 1 year to expire on 2013-07-19. To prolong your (interface) adminship, please start another election a few days before your temporary access expires, and after a week post your request again to this page. Thanks. -- Trijnsteltalk 21:02, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you.--Avocato (talk) 05:45, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Avgustos@jbo.wiktionary

Hello. There has been one vote in favor of user AugPi (me) and none against. The vote was weak because "AugPi" is un-lojbanic (either that or because I missed the word "la'e" in the headline... which is needed to make the sentence refer to user AugPi instead of the name "AugPi"...). I created a new account, Avgustos, which is more lojbanic. There is no bureaucrat (or steward) on jbo.wiktionary to make anyone an admin (including me), so I have to recourse to making a request here. (There had been a recent proposal to close down jbo.wiktionary, one of the reasons in favor of which was the absence of any admin on jbo.wiktionary, so granting adminship to Avgustos might help the cause of jbo.wiktionary's survival...) —AugPi (t) 15:14, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that the linked vote contains only input from 2 of your accounts, and it would seem as if you were thus exclusively self-elected? Pundit (talk) 20:20, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Wrong. The vote in my favor was from anonymous user 2002:52D3:A7D8:0:213:D4FF:FE60:17EB. My smaller-font message was in order to notify that the voting edit was from anonymous user 2002:52D3:A7D8:0:213:D4FF:FE60:17EB. My pair of messages under that were responses to that anonymous user. —AugPi (t) 16:44, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, that same Lojban-writing anonymous user made the following edit (to meta-wiki): diff=3855381. —AugPi (t) 17:00, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your reply. Again, pardon my ignorance, but do anonymous users have voting rights on this project? Many apologies for my confusion. Pundit (talk) 20:51, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There is as yet no voting policy on jbo.wiktionary. —AugPi (t) 14:35, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The anonymous voter obviously knows Lojban, though, and cared enough to register a vote. No one else has bothered to even register an "Abstain" vote (no'e sarji in Lojban). —AugPi (t) 14:46, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
And, by the way, bende ckupau is not a page for carrying out formal votes; it is rather much more like the "Beer Parlour" in en.wiktionary (my "home wiki"). In 2010, a user named I-20 proposed on the bende ckupau, in English, to become the wiki's admin. No one bothered to register any comment. Two years later the wiki still has no admin. So the fact that that anonymous user registered a comment, and wrote that comment in Lojban — not English — is a lot of progress for the jbo.wiktionary. —AugPi (t) 14:58, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
 • Because this discussion indicates, that the project indeed may need an admin, and since the community is way too small and has not voiced its support clearly, I'm setting the rights up to expire in 6 months, with a hope the community will grow and get more admins meanwhile. Pundit (talk) 15:21, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sotiale@ko.wikisource

Good to see you. I request administrator access in Korean Wikisource. The community judges my qualification of administrator(sysop). Result is above discussion, 4 supports and no oppose. As far as I know, consensus needs at least 1 week(including site-notice). This discussion meets the minimum requirement, I think. Although 1 crat exist in Korean Wikisource, He is inactive long.. His final activity is 2008. For this reason, please judge my adminship. Thank you :) Sotiale (Talk·Contribs) 00:57, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done, local bureaucrat has been inactive and email was not possible. Bencmq (talk) 03:36, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There is no administrator any more in Acehnese Wikipedia. So I want to be an administrator there. Thank you. -- Si Gam (talk) 11:28, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bureaucrat access

Steward requests/Permissions/Crat-header

CheckUser access

Steward requests/Permissions/CU-header

Oversight access

To request to have content oversighted, ask in #wikimedia-stewards, or email oversight-en-wp@wikipedia.org for requests regarding English Wikipedia. This is the place to request Oversight access. Note that temporary Oversight access is not permitted and the temporary status is only used by Stewards.

Stewards
Do not grant Oversight access unless the user is identified to the foundation, which will be announced on the Identification noticeboard. When you give someone oversight access, list them on Oversight.

Removal of access

<translate>

 • If you're requesting the removal of your own permissions, make sure you're logged in to your account. If you have multiple flags, specify which you want removed. Stewards may delay your request a short time to ensure you have time to rethink your request (see previous discussion on 24 hour delays); the rights will not be restored by stewards once they are removed.
 • To request the removal of another user's permissions, you must gain consensus on the local wiki first. When there is community consensus that the user's access should be removed, provide a link to the discussion, with a brief explanation of the reason for the request, and summarize the results of discussion. However, as bureaucrats of some wikis may remove users from the administrator or bureaucrat group, please see also a separate list of these specific wikis.
 • To request the removal of another user's permissions for inactivity, link to your local inactivity policy. If your site does not have inactivity policy, the global policy Admin activity review applies.
 • See the instructions above for adding new requests. Please post new requests at the bottom of the section.</translate>

Biopresto@itwiki

Biopresto was inactive more than 6 months. According to the policies, his sysop access must be removed. Thanks, --Gnumarcoo 12:16, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please point us to the relevant policy? The user appears to be active as editor. -Barras talk 12:36, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
On it.wiki, according to a 2008 survey, the administrators have to make admin-log in the last six months, not only edits or movements. --Gnumarcoo 12:44, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. However, this user performed two deletions in the past six months, so they don't qualify for removal, right? -Barras talk 12:48, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nope. Those actions were done 10 days after the term (which it was 20 of June). --Gnumarcoo 12:52, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
IMHO it would be better to leave them a notice and then ask for the removal, the ratio of all inactivity policies is to avoid having (semi)abandoned accounts with higher rights. --Vituzzu (talk) 13:00, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've already noticed him. He agrees with removal. --Gnumarcoo 13:05, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Please provide a diff to the conversation. — billinghurst sDrewth 06:22, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Conversation was done via mail. However, Vituzzu is taking care about it. --Gnumarcoo 19:19, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Saluyot@ilowikipedia

Request removal of admin rights for inactive user per discussion on user's page and here with no adverse comments. User has been in-active since December 2009.--Lam-ang (talk) 06:33, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a particular inactivity policy on ilowiki? If so, where? Trijnsteltalk 14:30, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There is no particular policy for admin inactivity in ilowiki, the link included above is the discussion inviting the named inactive admins to participate in creating one, but with no comments from said admins or no adverse comments from anyone. My point is, what is the point of having admin rights if you're not using it to maintan the wiki. Would it be more satisfying to approving beurocrats here if I requested for comments here on meta?--Lam-ang (talk) 17:37, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

अनुनाद सिंह@hiwikipedia

Continuously attacking multiple users (violating fourth point ("Editors should interact with each other in a respectful and civil manner") of the Panchsheel (local fundamental principles, similar to five pillars)), making ethnic comments, using inflammatory language, not following local policies, engaging in aggressive point-of-view editing. User has accepted all the allegations against him and has supported the proposal ("मैं अपना मत इस प्रस्ताव के समर्थन में देता हूँ। अर्थात अनुनाद सिंह को प्रबन्धक पद से मुक्त किया जाय और विकिपिडिया पर उन्हें प्रतिबन्धित किया जाय।" — "I give my support in favour of this proposal. Meaning, अनुनाद सिंह should be relieved of his administrator status/post and be blocked from Wikipedia).--Bill william compton (talk) 15:24, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Invalid reason for stewards. Please, make decision locally and then ask stewards to remove permissions. --Millosh (talk) 09:41, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Reopening. Apparently they did so, by the page he's linked above. CC Jyothis who can speak lil' indi for our assistance. — MA (audiencia) 10:10, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Obviously, I should read more carefully... --Millosh (talk) 10:26, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I will read thru and let you know. --Jyothis (talk) 11:20, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
For what it's worth, this is not a rationale for de-sysoping. This is the summary of what is written there. Please take the disciplinary action as requested because he's just not stopping. Referring "crocodile tears" to people [in his latest comment] is farther away from civilized behaviour, which one could expect at any encyclopaedia, thank you and best regards.--Bill william compton (talk) 03:31, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for a delayed response over here, as I was a bit busy after Wikimania. At this point, I do not see consensus in the discussion to honor this request. More over, reading over the issues, apart from a bit of a harsh tongue from the user in question, I don't see enough evidence provided to cause the user to be de-sysoped and blocked from the project under an emergency action. One should provide more concrete evidences over misuse of rights or blatant personal attacks in order to support such a request, especially when it is made against one of the more experienced editors in the project.

Bill should also note that before coming up with such a request here, consensus should be reached in the discussion and enough time should have passed in order to allow the local users to make comments. The request here was made a day after the discussion started. Also note that partially quoting some one's statement without giving the context does seems like he is accepting all of it and asking himself to be blocked, but in reality, user stated that he does accept that he has told all those, but all statement should be taken in its context.

Thanks, and let me know if anyone has further questions.--Jyothis (talk) 20:10, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, please hold it more, otherwise we will lose too many times to choose him a sysop again. LuCKY (talk) 08:22, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with the previous comments. You can check this page out for further information, discussion and detailed actual situation. Best regards. Utku Tanrivere (talk) 00:02, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Zirland@cswikibooks

Per local policy of half year inactivity, please remove sysop and bureaucrat due to several years of inactivity.
Danny B. 13:47, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Comment You added the inactivity section on 8 June - did you do this after a local vote/consensus? Trijnsteltalk 14:15, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Of course, see the talk page. Besides it's common practice on most of Czech projects.
Danny B. 14:31, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, now I see it. Done. While he did delete a few pages last August, he's still inactive for more than 6 months. Please thank him for his work. Trijnsteltalk 18:47, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

hi.gagWiki is not bureaucrat.I need to access.

 1. .Donation bot flag.
 2. .checkuser Require.
 3. .Management to become permanent.
 4. ...

Thank you.E THP (talk) 18:34, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi E THP.
 1. The bot owner has to request the bot flag himself on Steward requests/Bot status IIRC.
 2. Do you want to *have* CU rights, or do want a CU to be *performed*? We can't do the first, but the second one should be requested on Steward requests/Checkuser.
 3. For that you have to start a local discussion, for example in the local village pump - for now it'll be expire in September.
Kind regards, Trijnsteltalk 19:16, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
