This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop, global rename, …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).
Please note that Global rollbackers discussions are not votes. Comments must present specific points in favor of or against a user's approval.
Instructions for making a request
Before requesting, make sure that:
You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag
To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
|status = <!-- don't change this line -->
|domain = global <!-- don't change this line -->
|user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''
The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions, no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.
About me: I started a cross-wiki review of climate disinformation and misinformation. We try to delete blatant misinformation and work together with the local communities / native speakers to improve less problematic text. Unsurprisingly, some climate change articles are semi-protected. I was wondering if I could get the global rollback right, as it includes autoconfirmed. I'm willing to promise that I will not use the rollback function. I think this project can be done in three months, so happy to have this right only for a limited time. Thanks
Strong support I trust this user in this role: active on the Dutch Wikipedia for 5+ years, and positive contributions on nl-Gendergap related articles. Ciell (talk) 16:36, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Yahya: This request was made to circumvent local autoconfirmed restrictions by using the autopatrolautoconfirmed user right, as such, this has nothing to do with cross-wiki activity. --Minorax«¦talk¦»13:00, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This appears to be outside the scope of the global rollback permission. Optimally you should obtain autoconfirmed through local processes, usually just being registered for a few days. It is also generally a bad idea to edit content in an unfamiliar language, and I would recommend you prioritize working with local editors and native speakers over making removals yourself. Best, Vermont (talk) 21:36, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Strong opposeOppose Not only, as rightfully said by Vermont, this is "outside the scope of the global rollback permission" but even if you gain GR permission it does not guarantee you autopatrol rights in every and each wiki, because many of them do not use autopatrol, but autoreview feature instead. So, for example, after obtaining global rollback flag you still would not be autopatrolled in Hungarian, Belorussian, Bosnian, Arabic, Hindi and Farsi wikis (based on your list).--Renvoy (talk) 10:06, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This is requesting the ability to edit semi-protected pages, which is truly granted everywhere by being a global rollbacker, not the ability to have one's edits escape review. * Pppery *it has begun15:33, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I understand what you are doing but I think it would be better to try and get the articles unprotected or have tool use audited rather than going about it this way. --Rschen775419:30, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If the protection was inappropriate, bring it up with that administrator, and if the resolution is unsatisfactory, pursue further processes (i.e. community review/desysop). --Rschen775401:03, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than two weeks (no exceptions are allowed no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential. Please note: Since 2019 all global sysops are required to have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled.
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions. Please review Global IP block exemption. You may request Global IP block exemption via stewardswikimedia.org if you can not edit this page.
Please note: Global IP block exemption does NOT make one immune to locally-created blocks of any sort, only global blocks.
If you want to edit the Chinese Wikipedia, usually global IP block exemptions will not help you. Please see this instruction to request a local IP block exemption.

The request will be approved if there is demonstrated need for the permission, such as bypassing a global block from someone who is not the intended target.
Hello, I'm an administrator of Chinese Wikipedia. Due to the iCloud Private Relay, it was greatly hindered by me in global contributing, which also deeply troubled me, so I applied for a global IP block exemption, Thank you. --Subscriptshoe9 (talk) 05:53, 9 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I am an active editor in Chinese Wikipedia, as a user from mainland china, I have to use VPN to contribute. Although I have IP block exemption in zh-wiki, it's not enough, as you can check, I also edit in Wikidata , Wikimedia Commons and zh-Wikisource. So I'd like to apply a global IP block exemption. thanks, --Dkzzl (talk) 10:07, 9 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
