This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Requests for global sysop permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global sysops policy.
Stewards

Global IP block exempt for LanmeiCN

I am from China, and all Wikimedia Foundation sites are blocked in my area, so I need to use a proxy to change an IP that can access the Wikimedia Foundation site, but the IP I changed is already on the Wikimedia Foundation site Banned in. I need to edit more Wikipedias besides Chinese Wikipedia, and I have asked in the official telegram group of Chinese Wikipedia that my IP is globally banned. I have read "Global IP block exemption" in detail. Please grant me it, thanks, --LanmeiCN (talk) 11:03, 23 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Comment This is not meant to be an oppose, but the fact this user requests several global rights at once gives me a pause. It reminds me of an essay I read in the past. Martin Urbanec (talk) 11:23, 23 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Comment Hello, Martin Urbanec, due to blocking the use of the proxy, I finally found an IP that was not blocked by the Wikimedia Foundation at random, so I had to apply for it together. -LanmeiCN (talk) 13:14, 23 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I found that it hasn't progressed for a long time, please ask the administrator to deal with it. -LanmeiCN (talk) 12:19, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for 北纬的星空

I am a Wikipedia user from Chinese mainland. I have to go to Wikipedia through proxy now, but my proxy is banned and can not edit Wikipedia page. Today I found that I could access there by changing Hosts file (though not very often). Therefore, I hope the administrator can grant me global IP block exemption to avoid being affected. My user name is 北纬的星空. My current IP address is 101.88.124.123, thanks, --101.88.124.123 11:42, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please login to confirm the request. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 23:13, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
OK. (It seems to be unstable) --北纬的星空 (talk) 04:01, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for JasonHK

The Hong Kong Government are planning to push a new bill in October to block website that used for “doxxing”, as a way to limit free speech, thus the access to Wikimedia’s websites could be at risk. Because of this, I would like to plan ahead before it was too late. Thanks, JasonHK (talk) 15:21, 6 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Are Wikimedia websites really used for doxing? Ruslik (talk) 07:31, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No, it’s just an excuse made up by the government to block any websites that contain different political views than them. JasonHK (talk) 15:48, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for Zbobai

Zbobai is a trusted user who is trying to contribute to Incubator in the Tyap language. He mostly contributes using a phone, and he appears to be blocked because of his IP. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 08:35, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for SelfieCity

On June 26 an IP range block affected me. I only found out today while trying to adjust categories for a pagebanner from WV and upload to Wikidata (as a Wikivoyage admin I was exempted there, perhaps?). In voy:Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub I was told to come here, thanks, --SelfieCity (talk) 18:21, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global interface editor rights for User:Jayprakash12345

In last year, per Steward_requests/Global_permissions/2020-07#Global_interface_admin_rights_for_User:Jayprakash12345, I was given the GIE for a year to work on Indic community issues. From the last year to till now, I only used this right for only Indic languages wikis as I promised. I actively maintained the log which can be seen here. My rights has been expired. I request to extended it further. (Please know more context from previous nomination before making any decision)--Jayprakash >>> Talk 19:28, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
