This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop, global rename, …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).
Please note that Global rollbackers discussions are not votes. Comments must present specific points in favor of or against a user's approval.
Instructions for making a request
Before requesting, make sure that:
You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
|status = <!-- don't change this line -->
|domain = global <!-- don't change this line -->
|user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''
The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions, no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.
Dear, wikimedians hereby I ask your trust, if I may become Global Rollbacker. I already have quite a bit of experience, on three projects I have rollback rights. I am also an active member of SWMT and rollback vandalism with SWViewer. It would help my work a lot if I could get that bit. In fact, I am sometimes hindered by abuse filters from rolling back vandals. I know, I am only allowed to use standard rollback for "clearly vandalism". I have read and agree with the policy. Best regards from, Drummingman (talk) 20:41, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Support Looks good to me. Your edit matrix might be slightly low, but I'm quite sure you have the (cross-wiki) experience to first ask questions and only hit the rollback button afterward. --Daniuu (talk) 10:02, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Support - Out of some 10,000 global contributions only 200 Appears to be on the projects where they are less active/possibly unaware of the language. They know what to revert for sure. They have a tool on two wikis and well versed in using it. But cross wiki activity is really at lower side, Which brings me to the question of need for the tool. Do they really need it? May be they can come back when they show a need for it? thanks QueerEcofeminist [they/them/their] 05:09, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Support I see them patrolling several times and I would say that there are no problems. Active and trusted user. Yes, probably the crosswiki activity doesn't show much experience, but imho it isn't a big deal since they do quality work! --Superpes15 (talk) 14:58, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please note: Since 2019 all global sysops are required to have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled.
When you give someone global rename rights, please add them to the list of global renamers and ask them to subscribe to the global renamers' mailing list.

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than two weeks (no exceptions are allowed no matter how obvious the result may seem). While all input is welcome, there is a hard 80% support requirement for this role as per the global renamer policy.
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions. Please review Global IP block exemption. You may request Global IP block exemption via stewardswikimedia.org if you can not edit this page.
Please note: Global IP block exemption does NOT make one immune to locally-created blocks of any sort, only global blocks.
If you want to edit the Chinese Wikipedia, usually global IP block exemptions will not help you. Please see this instruction to request a local IP block exemption.

The request will be approved if there is demonstrated need for the permission, such as bypassing a global block from someone who is not the intended target.
I'm ru-wiki sysop and has modest contribution in wikidata. Due to some personal issues, my only machine capable of debugging wikidata scripts is a VM hosted at Hetzner with an IP address in the globally blocked range 65.21.0.0/16. IP-Block-Exempt will definitely help me here, thanks, --Ghuron (talk) 16:08, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, apparently I need a longer version. I am #19 in wikidata top contributors list. I am loading a lot of statements to wikidata using publicly available databases. In order to do that I need a couple of scripts, that utilize wikidata API. Normally I run those scripts under labs account, but sometimes I have to debug them on a windows machine that is capable enough to run PyCharm. As a Russian citizen, who don't want to sponsor Putin's aggression against Ukraine, I had to move to the EU. At the moment the only powerful machine available at my disposal is a windows VM hosted at Hetzner (this message I'm typing on my chromebook, that is too weak to run python). This VM is legitimately blocked as a part of 65.21.0.0/16 range, because normal users aren't supposed to edit from the hosting machine. Unfortunately my request for local (wikidata) IPBlock-exempt request was rejected by @Stang, because he believes it violates local policy. I'm not familiar with those policies, so I'm asking for a global flag here. Ghuron (talk) 18:23, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest this global right not be used to circumvent local policy. Since you only seem to need it for Wikidata, a local flag there would indeed be the way to go. ~~~~ User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk)12:31, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Reply that you were sent back from this page stating that for an exempt for 1 project, you need to be on that project and not here. Mbch331 (talk) 13:46, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, i'd like to request GIPBE because my home is using the ISP which is their IP range blocked globally (182.253.0.0/16). It would be helpful as i sometimes contributing across Wikimedia Project. Thanks, --Veracious (talk) 06:26, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
