Tonico Pereira[edit]

In project by Nacional Archive of Brazil i edited the page of actor Tonico Pereira, but the points don't west computed--Mtvdanilo (talk) 13:36, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

This project only counts pages that are explicitly assigned, or are in one of the tracked categories. If you add that page as an assignment for yourself, then it should get counted after the next update.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:01, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

i started a programme called Nigerian Universities and Polytechnics on Wikidata yesterday being 5 September 2020. i registered 9 participants to participate in it. i realized that all the edits by the different participants on 5 September 2020 when the programme started did not show on this dashboard. Also my own edits did not show. what could be the problem.--Chuks Zilo (talk) 10:15, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

Chuks Zilo: your program is currently showing 91 edits. Does it seem correct now, or are there specific edits that are missing? --Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 21:35, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

Thank you Sage (Wiki Ed) for your reply. Yes it seems correct now and no edits are missing so far.

Dashboard data not updating[edit]

The programmes (one and two) on my dashboard have not updated since 14th September. Can someone assist me - is there a lag issue with the dashboard? Thanks! Nagarpedian (talk) 08:59, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

It has updated since! Nagarpedian (talk) 05:36, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

What happened to the "references added" metric?[edit]

A few weeks ago, my course dashboard listed "references added" as one of the metrics. It had an explanatory note saying: "This is the number of reference tags added to articles, and can include multiple references to the same source. The data comes from the ORES article quality model, and is only available for some languages". Strangely, today this parameter does not show up anymore (here). How come? EMsmile (talk) 12:03, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

Strange: today the references are visible again. That's good but I wonder why it sometimes shows and sometimes not. EMsmile (talk) 03:00, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the report! This is a bug with code for whether to show the 'references added' value or not. It is only supposed to show up if there are some references added, but not if the value is zero. It's currently also not showing up if the number is too high. I'll make sure this gets fixed.--Ragesoss (talk) 17:33, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
Hi Ragesoss, thanks for sorting this out. Another question: I have just started a new program and used the third option (can't remember the name) where only edits for certain articles are counted. But now it doesn't show the parameter references at all, please see here. Also it doesn't show the number of page views. Did I do something wrong? EMsmile (talk) 07:22, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
Sorry, missed when you first posted... the references and pageviews are showing up now; they only show up once there is something to show. This was part of a change to make the stats more flexible, so difference programs will show different data depending on what kinds of activity they are doing and which wikis they are working on. (There's no support for references added on some wikis, so instead of just showing 0, it waits until there's a number before showing anything.)--Ragesoss (talk) 21:34, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

Question from Revmlibrary[edit]

I'm hosting an edit-a-thon and our dashboard is not tracking our edits? Any idea what's going on here?Revmlibrary (talk) 15:36, 12 October 2020 (UTC)

Page not loading ("too much traffic")[edit]

Quite a few of my course participants have told me that the course's dashboard page is not loading. It says something about being overloaded and too much traffic. See here. I can still see it but they can't. Is there anything that can be done about it? EMsmile (talk) 02:27, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

Sorry about that. I restarted the webserver when I got a report of the problem. I'm going to work on making sure it can handle larger numbers of visitors when I get a chance.--Ragesoss (talk) 17:34, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

Lexemes are not showing up in the statistics[edit]

Lexemes on Wikidata are not showing up in the statistics, but that is a content namespace and should be counted. Ainali talkcontributions 23:20, 31 October 2020 (UTC)

Ainali: Thanks! I've added an issue for building support for Lexeme stats.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:17, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
I have no idea if this timespan is realistic, but we are planning a lexeme editathon on December 4. It would be nice with support by then. Ainali talkcontributions 20:27, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
I don't expect to work on it by then, but if you give me a ping at the end of it, I can generate some preliminary stats so at least you have the numbers.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:32, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
That would be very kind, thanks! Ainali talkcontributions 20:36, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
Unrelated to this I had to postpone the editathon, but will ping you next year. Perhaps it's ready then :) Ainali talkcontributions 08:47, 28 November 2020 (UTC)

Wiki Clubs 2020[edit]

There is no recorded activities for the program Wiki Clubs 2020 after 24 October, but there are activities on recent changes on Can someone fix that? Regards, Violetova (talk) 18:52, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

The program is still out of date: 11 days late, which is not the case with other programs I checked. - 05:17, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
We recently changed how the dashboard prioritizes updates so that very long-running programs with lots of activity, like this one, don't use as much system resources and shorter-running programs can be updated more frequently. I expect it to get a new update within the next couple of days.--Ragesoss (talk) 20:51, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
Thank you Ragesoss - Violetova (talk) 10:39, 20 November 2020 (UTC)

the question concerning a campaign in a language that is in the Incubator

Hi, is it possible to list the language of a Wiki that is still in the Incubator as the default language for a campaign on the Wikimedia Outreach Dashboard? E.g. LGBTIQ community in Montenegro is planning an LGBTIQ-focused edit-a-thon during the Montenegrin Pride Week in December 2020 - but the Montenegrin Wiki is still in an incubator stage. Does this mean we cannot create the campaign on the Outreach Dashboard and state the Montenegrin language as the default language? Is there any way around this issue that would help us make visible the changes made during the event? Thanks for your help! --NaucnicaCG 16 November 2020 20:17 CET

NaucnicaCG you can't set it to Montenegrin directly, since it works based on which wiki it tracks, but you can set it to track Incubator wiki to show the edits for your event.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:59, 18 November 2020 (UTC)

Using de.wikiquote Categories[edit]

I set up an outreach dashboard ([[1]]) with two home wikis, de.wikipedia and de.wikiquote. Assigning categories from de.wikipedia works. But when I try to assign a category from de.wikiquote (Kategorie:Frau) the adress created by the dashboard is wrong, I get: and clicking it leads to
Yes, I did change the target to de.wikiquote in the popup where the categories are added. Did I do something wrong or is there something wrong in the setup? Any help would be appreciated! --Manfred Werner (WMAT) (talk) 10:44, 30 November 2020 (UTC)

Adding some features[edit]

I think this tool should add more features such as:

  • "Untrack all" so people can choose manually which articles to track. So far, I have to untrack articles one by one which is time consuming and boring, especially when contributors edit a lot of articles but only few articles are relevant to the event I'm organizing.
  • "Track only assigned articles" so people can focus on tracking only the assigned articles. Not every articles edited should be track for certain events.
  • "Only count characters for assigned articles" because some people only need to know the number of added characters for assigned articles only.
  • "Remove assigned articles" should be possible to be done en-masse, not one by one.

This tool is helpful for me, but I think the above mentioned features will help me a lot in designing future events. Thank you. Cahyo (WMID) (talk) 05:48, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

Dashboard data dump[edit]

Hi there, I am Abd Alsattar Ardati, a Computer Science PhD student at the University of St Andrews. I am planning to propose a project that involves analysing the ( data (programms, participants and articles ect..). Is there any way to get data dumps from this dashboard tool? And does this raise any ethical issues? Best, Abd Alsattar Ardati (talk) 23:15, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

Abd Alsattar Ardati: Hi, and sorry for the slow reply! Much of the data that you're looking for can be downloaded in CSV format from the Dashboard. There's no option to get a consolidated data dump from the whole system at once, but anything you can see on the Dashboard is public data, and most of it can be downloaded. What are you looking for specifically? Feel free to follow up by email (sage at (Wiki Ed) (talk) 21:06, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Dashboard not updating[edit]

I wish to request for an update to this dashboard: It hasn't been updated in 9 days.

User edits outside an event[edit]

I just joined a new edit-a-thon event and the program's dashboard imported many of my other edits unrelated to the event before I joined. It showed my older edits in the Activity tab and also really screwed up the statistics for it. I also looked at an event I attended a couple years ago, and it continues to show articles and activity that occurred after the event. I feel like this really undermines the usefulness of the dashboard and tools when it can't be configured to only show the edits made in connection to the event, with my outside edits overwhelming those made by my colleagues. Thanks, Reywas92 (talk) 20:56, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

Reywas92: If you click 'Show Course Specific' on the Activity tab, it will limit it to edits that are counted for the statistics. For newcomer-focused events, it can be useful to show more recent edits that happned after the event ended, but we recently added the option to limit it for cases like yours.--Ragesoss (talk) 21:37, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

Stats for campaign[edit]

When I try to "download stats" for a campaign, wiht either "Editor usernames" or "Editors by course", I get no results. Apparently because the programs are private. As I'm organizer (of the campaign) and facilitator (of each programs), is there a way to get the stats for all the programs at once?

Campaign organizer – rights[edit]

Hi, as a campaign organizer, I am able to edit programs within the campaign. All seems to work but adding participants to a program. I was able to edit a description of this program. But I was unable to add participants (or event add myself as another facilitator). The error message says "Only participants of this course may do that." --Vojtěch Veselý (talk) 22:30, 10 January 2021 (UTC)

@Vojtěch Veselý: that event ended months ago, are you having this problem with open/future events as well? — xaosflux Talk 14:42, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
@Xaosflux: I just tried it in an active program and yes, the result is the same.--Vojtěch Veselý (talk) 17:06, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
@Vojtěch Veselý: the best I can tell, this is working as designed. Campaign organizers are able to run certain campaign reports, but are not automatically facilitators of all programs - when an organizer creates a program they can add any number of facilitators (and can add them after the fact). Is there a program that only has inactive/unavailable facilitators right now that you need to take over? — xaosflux Talk 17:15, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

It looks like it's working now. Long-running events like this begin in the slowest update queue, so they can take a little while before the first data starts showing up. (The Dashboard does this to optimize for short events like editathons so that they get timely data while the event is still going on.)--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:21, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

Recent edits for each editor on a project[edit]

Hello, I am using the Dashboard to track edits by a handful of editors on the University of Washington PCC Wikidata Pilot Project. Right now, when I click on "editors", the Dashboard shows that most of our editors have made zero edits in the past week, which is false. Can anyone help us troubleshoot or explain why this is happening? Thank you, --Clements.UWLib (talk) 22:21, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

(We discussed this over email, so I'm just following up on-wiki in case others are curious.) This was because of the query tool at running out of memory when trying to retrieve revisions for the very active editors in this program. I fixed it last week by increasing the memory limit for the tool.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:04, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

Mixed name or username of facilitator[edit]

Please check this:

  • the Facilitators field in this course is filled with "Geraki (geraki, cbratsas)"
  • Cbratsas is another person that we had collaborated in past courses, I am not sure how I mixed those two names in some previous course, but now it is displayed like this in every course.
  • In my profile there is nothing like that.

I cannot find how to change it. -Geraki TL 16:28, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

Geraki: I've fixed this. Early on, Programs & Events Dashboard prompted users for their real name when they first signed in, which you must have accidentally filled out "geraki, cbratsas". That becomes automatically added as your real name for any programs you create. (It's possible to change the real name you've got set using this form: .) I've cleared that entry from both your account and all the programs you've set up, so it shouldn't happen any more.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:08, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
Thank you Sage (Wiki Ed)! -Geraki TL 06:32, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

Project stats not updating[edit]

Hi there, the stats for my current project hasn't updated in five days now, when it used to update a few times every day. Is this an issue with program, and is there a way for me to manually get the stats to update? --Prosperosity (talk) 07:41, 21 February 2021 (UTC)

Prosperosity: It's not an issue specific to this program; most moderately active programs go about 5 days between updates right now, because of some changes I made recently to improve the update frequency and reduce the system load caused by the largest programs. I'm working on adjusting the system to rebalance the update priorities, and hopefully bring the update frequency for moderately active programs like this one back up to once per day or better. It may take a little while to get there.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:52, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
Thanks! Since I posted this it's updated once already. --Prosperosity (talk) 02:26, 23 February 2021 (UTC)

Pageviews compared to pageviews[edit]

I find the number of pageveiws for articles a bit confusing in the dashboard, and need some help to sort it out when comparing to the pageview tool. For a project we are doing with a bunch of students, Kulturhistoria på Wikipedia som gymnasiearbete, the number of views according to the stats are:

It's hard to believe and be happy about the reported 71.9K Article views. Is there a reason for the difference and is it possible to get more accurate numbers to the dashboard? /Axel Pettersson (WMSE) (talk) 11:07, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

Axel Pettersson (WMSE): The way the Dashboard estimates pageviews is based on finding the average daily views for given article, and multiplying that by the number of days since a student made their first edit to it. In this case, it's finding a high average view count based on the days since those articles entered mainspace, but it's treating them as if they were getting that many views daily since the first sandbox edit in the page history. There's not currently a way to get more accurate pageview numbers from the dashboard; we switched to this less accurate estimation method because updating the complete pageview stats for every article created too much system load.--Ragesoss (talk) 14:41, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
Ragesoss: Hmmm, thanks, that explains things. I guess that for this project, where students start editing during the fall (October for Jugend i Sverige) and publish/move to mainspace in february, followed by a spike due to new article interest by the community, the estimate will be off for quite a while before things settle. That also explains why the expanded older articles, like Stenungsund are more in line. For shorter edit-a-thons i might me useful, but not in this case. /Axel Pettersson (WMSE) (talk) 15:42, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

User data does not appear on the program page[edit]

Hello to the dashboard team,

I have opened a program page designed to track user activity in one of the WMIL programs from the beginning of 2020 until its end. I see that the data on these users do not appear on the program page (at least as of this moment). Is the reason that the set date for the end of the follow-up has already passed? And if so, can it be solved?

In gratitude and many thanks, Shai-WMIL (talk) 15:12, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

Not detecting edits[edit]

Hi all. Can someone look into this editathon [2] to see why it's not updating edits? For example, my contributions should show up. --99of9 (talk) 01:58, 8 March 2021 (UTC)

@99of9: It seems to be working. Can you please specify an edit that should be showing up and is not? --Joalpe (talk) 15:33, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
Currently, it can take a bit of time — up to several days — before a new program starts getting data. (Editathons that only track edits for 1 or 2 days get quicker updates.) I'm working on some fixes for how the system prioritizes which programs to update, which should help with this kind of problem.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:53, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
Yes, it's working now, thanks. I've shortened the edit tracking period too - I'll remember that next time! --99of9 (talk) 01:52, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

Cannot edit archived programs[edit]

I created a new program for test last month and intended to edit it for the actual event today but I cannot do that. The calendar is all greyed out and I cannot delete the campaign for the program, maybe because the program is already archived. But I would love to be able to edit it so the campaign doesn't get filled up with test programs. Rima H (WMID) (talk) 03:29, 15 March 2021 (UTC)

Rima H (WMID): Which program? You should be able to edit even after it's archived, as long as you are one of the facilitators.--Ragesoss (talk) 19:40, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
I just checked it again. For removing campaigns, it turns out I need to click on the plus sign to be able to see the minus sign to remove a campaign. As for the date, apparently I need to change activity tracking start and end first, and then the event start and end will adjust their time accordingly. After saving it when I edit it again, the event start and end calendar will show some parts that's not greyed out. Rima H (WMID) (talk) 01:12, 16 March 2021 (UTC)

Here is the link to the dashboard.

And, here is our page on Art+Feminism.

Thanks! Brendan

As you've probably seen, the database corruption issue recurred, but after further work it's looking stable now. Please do post again if you run into any trouble with your event.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:54, 26 March 2021 (UTC)

Problem Report[edit]

I don't know if this is a general problem or specific to my event's dashboard for this coming Monday, but the page doesn't load beyond the header starting My Dashboard.--TrudiJ (talk) 23:47, 24 March 2021 (UTC)

User:TrudiJ: This was a general problem. I think I've gotten the dashboard to a stable state now, though. If you have any trouble between now and your event, please let me know.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:57, 26 March 2021 (UTC)

Edits not updating[edit]

Started a program today "2021 RIT Women on Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon", tracking activity should have started at 12:00 EDT today (3/26/2021) however no edits are showing. When I expanded the tracking time to 00:00 EDT, it showed edits from before noon, but none that have happened since. Sfaregs (talk) 19:01, 26 March 2021 (UTC) --Issue appears to have been resolved Sfaregs (talk) 19:22, 26 March 2021 (UTC)

Camara Cascudo[edit]

My editions on Camara Cascudo are not catalogued in dashboard. Thanks!! --Mtvdanilo (talk) 03:03, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

@Mtvdanilo: The Dashboard has been on and off in the last days, so we are mostly relying on it for registration. We are tracking edits of registered users through this page: w:pt:Wikipédia:Wikiconcurso Casa Brasileira/Mudanças relacionadas. Your edits were seen and computed. --Joalpe (talk) 03:10, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

We do not see the editions, the uploads to commons, only the number of publishers, names and activity inéxico/Editatón_WikiPuebla_490_10_abril_2021_(April_10th_2021)/home

Updates were slow at the time, but it's updating normally recently. It looks like it's showing all the stats now for this event. Let me know if there's still a problem.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:19, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

Dashboard not updating?[edit]

Our dashboard for our event isn't updating. It says last update was two months ago, but our program didn't start until last Friday. Is there a way to start/force an update? (Thanks)

We were working through some update bottlenecks at the time. Sorry for the slow update; it should be all set now.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:24, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

Failure in assignments[edit]

Hello. We have created a Dashboard program (Article Scoped Program) for an event that will take place tomorrow and when an editor assigns an article, it still appears as available in the list. Can you confirm if there is a problem with the tool and how to fix it?. Best. --Rodelar (talk) 15:51, 16 April 2021 (UTC)

Rodelar: Hi! I'm not sure from your description exactly what went wrong. Did the editor select the article from the Available Articles list, or did they type in the same title as one of the Available Articles? If they selected it from the list, the Dashboard is supposed to remove it from the list, but if they typed it in without choosing it from the list, the copy on the Available Articles list will remain. Either way, this shouldn't affect the stats.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:34, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

Data disruptions[edit]

Hello to the dashboard team,

I recently opened a page for a WMIL program, and I notice that there are some surprising disruptions: on the one hand, some of the students 'contributions are not made at all, and on the other hand, some of the students' contributions are not displayed.

See for example on the "Activity" page:

  • User N1626 is credited with contributing to this page, and user שמעון בארי is credited with contributing to this page. In practice these users have not edited these pages (and these pages appear in a language I did not request to be tracked at all).
  • The hebrew articles "ידיד לחינוך" and "חברת החשמל לישראל" were edited by Mashalif and 1626 users (respectively). However, this is not documented on the course page in the dashboard.

Can you help me solve these problems?

In gratitude and many thanks,

Shai-WMIL (talk) 12:06, 25 April 2021 (UTC)

This is a rare problem that has come up a few times recently. I'll update when I know more about it.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:35, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

Bug issues ?[edit]

I have been contacted by a linguistics professor who is relying on the outreach dashboard to follow his own contributions as well as his students', on French Wikipedia. Unfortunately, the one article listed on the dashboard does not correspond to the activities that have been carried out on fr-wiki, despite the time-frame of the dashboard includes the dates in which the activity has been carried out.

For information, here is a link to the dashboard in question.

I see there are several other messages about similar issues in the past days, is there a general problem with this tool?--Flor WMCH (talk) 10:52, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll be investigating this bug soon.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:20, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
Flor WMCH: I've found the problem and cleaned up the data for this course. It should be correct now; if the professor is still seeing any incorrect data, please let me know.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:54, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
Thanks, Sage (Wiki Ed)! Just one more question: was it anything that the dashboard's facilitator could have done himself? I'm asking this to avoid referring to you in the future if it's stuff I can show him to do on his own. Thanks in advance!--Flor WMCH (talk) 15:15, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
Flor WMCH: Thanks! In this case, there's nothing he could have done; this was a software bug that I got reports about from a handful of people, I just didn't have a chance to work on it until last week.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:29, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

Trouble loggin in[edit]

I have been having trouble logging in. Error message: 500 Internal Server Error.

Thank you for taking a look.

Sorry about that. It's fixed now. I'm in the process of developing some new infrastructure that should make things much more stable.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:36, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

Concernant le concours museum day 2021, les liens vers les "dashboard" ne fonctionnent pas.
I apologize for the service disruption. We're working on some changes that should make it more reliable soon.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:05, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Internal Server Error[edit]

Hi! Apparently, the reported errors have been fixed, but I still can't join for the same (?) reason:

International Museum Day 2021[edit]

Nehme ich jetzt noch am Wettbewerb teil, oder bin ich draußen, oder was mache ich falsch? Ich sehe mich plötzlich nicht mehr in der Autorenübersicht zum "International Museum Day 2021". --Wuselig (talk) 04:45, 7 May 2021 (UTC)

I apologize for the service disruption. It looks like you joined the "International Museum Day 2021" and it tracked your edits, once service was restored.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:07, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Internal server error[edit]

Please check the server as we currently seem to be getting a lot of "internal server error" reports when trying to use the Dashboard.--Discott (talk) 08:01, 7 May 2021 (UTC)

Discott: Thank you for reporting the problem. We should have a more stable system soon; some changes I made today will hopefully improve its capacity, but a bigger change within the next few months should make it much more stable going forward.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:08, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Crashing and Errors[edit]

Hi there,

Love the Dashboard, but we've been getting constant errors recently. We are using the Dashboard for the 1Lib1Ref campaign and are a bit worried if it will hold up. The errors generally say Internal Server Error.

Can you assist us in any way?

Other changes we thought about suggesting based on our use of the Dashboard lately include:

  • the URL should not change if you edit the event
  • the URLs are so long it means you have to make a shortened URL for workshops, and because it is an external site the Wikipedia shortened url tool won't accept it
  • Could there be some sort of QR code generator for users to add themselves to a particular dashboard at an event/edit-a-thon?

Many thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! I'm working on making the system more stable; some recent changes should help, and some bigger changes in the next couple of months ought to make it highly reliable. As for the other ideas... I think the idea of QR codes to let users join a particular event make a lot of sense, potentially along with a URL shortener service that works for Dashboard URLs. As for URLs changing, the only time this happens now is if you change the title, institution or term fields (or the passcode), as these are used to construct the URL of a program. We need to make sure people can change typos in those fields and not get stuck with typo'd URL.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:14, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Delete a dashboard[edit]

Finally, this edition was not be organised, and this dashboard has to be deleted.'abril_del_2021) Could you please eliminate it? I don't know how can I do it.Tiputini (talk) 13:57, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

Dashboard not showing any statistics since December 2020[edit]

I set up a dashboard for a project at

Although my project team and I have added over 61 items to Wikidata since then, the statistics have not been updated. It says there is only one edit by me when there have been many others since then. Is there anything that we can do to get them to show up? Do we have to be logged in to the dashboard every time we do something in Wikidata?

Jeannette Ho (talk) 00:00, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Jeannette Ho: Hi! It looks like that project is set to only track contributions to English Wikipedia. If you click 'Edit Details' and add Wikidata as tracked wiki, then it will start picking up Wikidata activity (including any activity back to the start date).--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:16, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Thanks! I have set it to Wikidata instead. How soon can we expect the stats to reflect edits we have made to Wikidata? Jeannette Ho (talk) 17:11, 12 May 2021 (UTC)

Jeannette Ho: Currently, most programs get an update every 30 minutes to 2 hours. It looks like yours is showing data for all the Wikidata activity now.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:50, 12 May 2021 (UTC)

Metric decreases...[edit]

I'm participating in a challenge and I've noticed more than once that my metric decreases as well as one of my co-challengers. E.g.: from 1500 to 1439. How should I understand this? --VALENTIN NVJ (talk) 12:54, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

VALENTIN NVJ: I'm guessing that you mean a decrease in the 'Recent Edits' count from here? If that's the metric you mean, it's because that counts only the number of edits made within the past 7 days, not the total number of edits throughout the event.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:19, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
No Sage (Wiki Ed), but here.--VALENTIN NVJ (talk) 19:44, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
VALENTIN NVJ: which metric decreased? --Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:28, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
Yes Sage (Wiki Ed); the number of metric (Number of Modification) often decreases. I can sleep with 1900 contributions and arrive in the morning, it decreases to 1500. that's what I don't understand why? --VALENTIN NVJ (talk) 20:33, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
VALENTIN NVJ: It sounds like you are talking about the 'Recent Edits' column from the Editors Overview, which currently shows 1860 for you. This is the number of edits that the Dashboard has tracked from you within the last 7 days. (If you are talking about a different metric, you can email (sage @ me a screenshot of the metric you mean, and I can look into it further.) --Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:40, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
Exactly the "Recent changes" column I was talking about Sage (Wiki Ed). Yesterday I had 1860 but look at today how it still decreased to 1619 instead of advancing. This dashboard also counts for a competition where there will be prizes to win at the end. So this kind of bag may distort the final result. Please see what happens! --VALENTIN NVJ (talk) 16:37, 28 May 2021 (UTC)
The 'recent edits' stat is not a good metric to use for a competition; it's not intended to count the total number of edits, it's intended to highlight which users have been most active within the last week.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:49, 28 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi I cannot find the eventbrite/Zoom link for the event Anyone able to send me this? Karen

Why aren't some articles counted?[edit]

Hi, I'm creating this dashboard, but it doesn't count two assigned article: id:Gereja Pentakosta Isa Almasih Indonesia Efata Salatiga & id:Gereja Kristen Jawa Salib Putih. I don't know why. I have set the start and end dates and selected two Wikipedias. Edits were made in the period and in the selected Wikipedias, but still the two articles aren't counted. Cahyo (WMID) (talk) 03:33, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

Cahyo (WMID): thanks for catching this! This was because of some incorrect data due to a bug that I fixed recently. I thought the bug only affected the "recent revisions" list for user, and didn't notice that the incorrect data would also affect statistics and the 'edited articles' list for an Article Scoped Program, so a little more data cleanup is necessary. I've fixed the data for your event, and I'm working on cleaning up the data for other affected events now.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:24, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
Sage (Wiki Ed): Thank you! Looks great now! Cahyo (WMID) (talk) 03:25, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

#1lb1ref may-june 2021 dashboard[edit]

  1. 1lib1ref may-june 2021 dashbooard : the dashboard includes the stats for the wikidata references which is not a part of the the #1lib1ref challenge (if it is, can I get a source please). Is there anyway to get the real numbers (without going to each participant library and clicking on their articles). French speaker here, sorry for the grammar--Scully1181 (talk) 12:39, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Scully1181
Scully1181: If you want to exclude the references for Wikidata edits, you can download a CSV of all the articles edited for the campaign and calculate it from that. The CSV includes a row for each article edited, including the wiki and count of net references added or removed, so you could filter out all the Wikidata entries and then sum the rest. Use the "Download stats" option here and click "Pages Edited".--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:31, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

How do I unenrol from a course[edit]

Hey there, I just accidentally joined the Summer of Wikivoyage 2021 Kosovo and Albania program, thinking I would be able to assist new editors. But I realised that is for the new contributors minutes later, and not to track contributions from new editors. How do I unenrol? Thanks! Translation and question[edit]

Hello, there are categories without translation, the following: "articles I am creating" and "articles I am improving", these categories are not available for translation either. I would also like to ask a question: how do I get the program to automatically add a template on the user page from the novice participant editors? Adding to list of wikis[edit]

Hi there, I am trying to organise an edit-a-thon on MicroWiki and I have just discovered this tool. Would it be possible to add the wiki to the list of wikis, so I can track the contributions of the people participating? Mattplaysthedrums (talk) 03:17, 27 July 2021 (UTC)

@Mattplaysthedrums: I expect that an administrator for would have to install the software. So far as I know, there are no documented precedents of installation outside the Wikimedia platform, so setting this up may not be straightforward. Here is the software
For context, the Wikipedia ecosystem manages itself, and each other wiki elsewhere has separate administration. Blue Rasberry (talk) 14:12, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
