Report of activities of Wikimedistas de Perú

We have generated the report of activities for the Wikimedistas de Perú user group. Since Wikimedistas de Perú was removed from the Wikimedia User Groups list, I want to ask you if we could put it back on the list. After this we hope to send an email to Wikimedia-l. Best regards, --Ovruni (talk) 23:42, 2 November 2018 (UTC)

Good day @Ovruni:,
Unfortunately, since the group had already lost its affiliation, this means that you would have to re-apply for the recognition of your group with Affcom. You can find instruction on how to apply here. --DNdubane (WMF) (talk) 11:06, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

2018 report overdue

Hi DNdubane (WMF)! I saw you have overviewed the reports, and our report by the Basque Wikimedians happens to be overdue (23 February). Would it be possible for us to set another deadline, say in 10 days. The volume of activity for 2018 is quite high and is taking some time to compile it. Regards --Iñaki LL (talk) 22:11, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

@Iñaki LL:, sure thing, I will make a note to follow up in 10 working days, that will be 15th March. Let me know if you need to clarify anything as you complete your report. Looking forward to reading about your group exploits! --DNdubane (WMF) (talk) 16:44, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
Great:) Thanks DNdubane --Iñaki LL (talk) 17:42, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
Hey DNdubane, just to let you know! There it is the report:) Hope everything is updated now. Best regards --Iñaki LL (talk) 21:53, 15 March 2019 (UTC)

Art+Feminism User Group reports

Hello DNdubane. The Art+Feminism user group has just completed the writing of the pending report and has updated the information on the general reports page. Please let us know if everything is ok. Thank you very much! --Yhhue91 (talk) 05:28, 21 April 2019 (UTC)

Wikimedia affiliates out of compliance

Hi Dumisani, you added two categories to Wiktionary/Tremendous Wiktionary User Group, namely "Wikimedia affiliates out of compliance" and "Initial compliance review". I am not sure I understand the meaning of these two categories. Could you tell what is the purpose of them? Thanks in advance. Pamputt (talk) 19:45, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

Hi @Pamputt:, this means that your group's activities report have now gone past due and I have added a cross on the Reports. Once you submit your group's 2018-2019 report, you will be back into compliance. Please feel free to let me know if you need more time to complete the report. Best regards - DNdubane (WMF) (talk) 21:01, 18 October 2019 (UTC)
Ah ok, thanks fot the explanations. Actually, we've already written our annual report. It is available here. How could we inform the WMF next time that our annual report is ready? Best regards. Pamputt (talk) 08:56, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
@Pamputt: you simply have to add link to the latest report on the Reports page next to your group's name as done previously, I will be notified of this as I have the page on my watchlist and then will update your group's compliance status. You are also encouraged to share the report with the rest of the community by sending a link to your report page as well as as short summary to Wikimedia-l mailing list (wikimedia-l(_AT_) (WMF) (talk) 09:06, 21 October 2019 (UTC)
Done, thank you. Pamputt (talk) 09:53, 21 October 2019 (UTC)
@Pamputt: Thank you for submitting, I have updated on my side too! -- DNdubane (WMF) (talk) 11:16, 21 October 2019 (UTC)

Hi. I see that you have created a bunch of categories such as Category:Annual report submitted or Category:Wikimedia affiliates in good standing. Could you have them themselves categorised so that they are a part of the main category tree and not just left being orphans. You might need to create some meta categories in the process. Thanks. --Base (talk) 12:19, 19 October 2019 (UTC)

Hi @Base:, thanks for the reminder. Yes, I will do this shortly as part of planned clean-up of Affcom related monitoring and recognitions pages. --DNdubane (WMF) (talk) 08:37, 21 October 2019 (UTC)

The Wikinewsie Group

I noticed you added this page to Category:Formerly recognized Wikimedia affiliates. There's a can of worms, there; TWG requested affiliate status, after careful consideration AffCom recommended it, and the WMF (for, if I'm being honest, what appeared to be purely political reasons) appears to have ignored AffCom's protracted study of the matter and overridden the recommendation to deny affiliation, giving TWG instead a "user group" status that was of no use to us whatsoever and we had never asked for. The key point here being, TWG has never been a recognized Wikimedia affiliate, so it would seem on the face of it inaccurate to put TWG in Category:Formerly recognized Wikimedia affiliates. --Pi zero (talk) 14:37, 29 October 2019 (UTC)

GLAM Macedonia User Group

Hi DNdubane, you can find all reports up-to-date for GLAM Macedonia on this link GLAM Macedonia User Group/Reports. Also, GLAM Macedonia is SAPG applicant. I am writing this comment because of Wikimedia Summit 2020/Eligibility Criteria, where the lines about reports, eligible, ready to register and funding are marked with cross. Regards, - Violetova (talk) 00:55, 3 November 2019 (UTC) Also, GLAM Macedonia's affiliate reporting month is January, as the SAPG grant is active from 1 January to 31 December. Please do something about this. Regards - Violetova (talk) 01:27, 3 November 2019 (UTC)

@Violetova:, thanks for submitting your reports. I have now updated your organization's compliance status. Please note that your annual activities reporting cycle is as per the month of you'r group's recognitions and when you signed the agreement document, and not per your sAPG cycle. If you would like to revise this to another month please send me an email at and I will revise your group agreement and reporting month as suitable. Best regards. --DNdubane (WMF) (talk) 10:34, 6 November 2019 (UTC)
Thank you, I sent you an e-mail. Regards, Violetova (talk) 12:41, 6 November 2019 (UTC)

I got a message for you

Hi Dumisani, I left you a message at the talk page of our user group. Kindly reply to it. --Jojit (talk) 10:15, 4 November 2019 (UTC)

Hi Dumisani,

After some delay (sorry for that), the 2019 report for the Wikisource Community User Group (WCUG) is published. Ankry posted the link on Reports. I hope all is correct and don't hesitate to tell us if there is any problem or question.

Cheers, VIGNERON * discut. 09:58, 13 February 2020 (UTC)

Report 2019 announcement on email list

Kaixo/hi DNdubane, I hope I find you well. Just a query, apologies if you are not the right person! I posted the Basque Wikimedians's 2019 Report, and I wanted to announce it on the, as specified at the top of the Reports page. Still I got my email rejected ("spam"), because I am "not a member of that list". How can I get access to the list and notify of our Report 2019? Thanks for your patience in advance! (And thanks also for your work in Xitsonga language:) Iñaki LL (talk) 11:55, 24 February 2020 (UTC)

@Iñaki LL:, please send the message to instead. It is an open list and your message may be moderated, but it will go through. Best regards --DNdubane (WMF) (talk) 19:26, 25 February 2020 (UTC)
@DNdubane (WMF): Sorry for this delay in my reply. Actually, that is the address where my email bounces, but I get the reject messsage back from, and not from Iñaki LL (talk) 12:20, 4 March 2020 (UTC)

Where are the instructions for how a Wikimedia affiliate can meet compliance?

@DNdubane (WMF): Hi, I saw that you added Cascadia Wikimedians to Category:Wikimedia affiliates out of compliance & Category:Initial compliance review. Are there pages with instructions for how to comply with the initial compliance review & how a Wikimedia affiliate meets compliance? Peaceray (talk) 06:52, 26 February 2020 (UTC)

@Peaceray:, As per User Group agreement terms, groups have their affiliation renewed automatically every year unless they have not submitted their latest activities report.
In the case of Cascadia Wikimedians, your report became due at the end of December 2019. We allow a curtesy month before, posting an intial review and marking the group out of compliance. Once you submit your group's report, you will go back into compliance. If you need more time to complete the report, you can send me an email requesting for extension of the reporting deadline.
DNdubane (WMF) (talk) 07:36, 26 February 2020 (UTC)
@DNdubane (WMF): Our annual report has been posted at Cascadia Wikimedians/2019 report since December, & there is a link to it from Cascadia Wikimedians#Reports and meeting minutes, the page on which you changed categories. You can also get to our reports from Category:Wikimedia Cascadia reports. Peaceray (talk) 00:20, 27 February 2020 (UTC)
@Peaceray:, thank you for linking your group's report on the Reports page. I have now updated your group's compliance status! :-) --DNdubane (WMF) (talk) 06:35, 27 February 2020 (UTC)

Dear Dumisani, I did the same for the Wikipedians of Slovenia User Group a while ago and sent you an email earlier this month to notify you. Can you please update our group's status or let me know if there's anything else to be done? Thanks. — Yerpo Eh? 17:04, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Wikimedia Community Ireland report

Hi! The report for WCI's activities for 2019 has been added to our archive events page here. It was delayed due to my ill health, unfortunately. Hopefully that will earn us our compliance! Thanks! Smirkybec (talk) 14:10, 27 February 2020 (UTC)

Report draft

Hi. I am starting to draft the Reports of my User group (Wikiclassics). Please let me know if there is something I should specifically take care. I am in a busy workload so I would prefer not to miss something important (deadline is May, 9th). Can I put the link WikiClassics_User_Group/Reports/2019 in the reports table if it is draft or should I wait the end?=--Alexmar983 (talk) 17:23, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

@Alexmar983:, the draft looks good, I would only recommend you add a section about the group, where you can detail things such as group meetings, change of leadership and even group group in different areas or countries. This is a good to have and not mandatory. Other than that, the draft looks good already. -- DNdubane (WMF) (talk) 16:03, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
ok I will add about the need for regular meetings next time, and we can schedule discussions about this aspect as well more regularly. Thank you. We will add it in the column on meta in few hours (I know there will be a different platfom in the future, but I go in any case with the table on meta)--Alexmar983 (talk) 16:07, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
@Alexmar983:,Great please remember to use the Wikimedia Affiliates Data Portal to submit your report, all you need is the URL link of your report and you can use "Submit Activity Report" form to complete the submission.--DNdubane (WMF) (talk) 16:25, 8 May 2020 (UTC)

Nouvelle unité à Kinshasa

Bonjour, je compte pouvoir asseoir un petit groupe à Kinshasa dépendant du Groupe des Wikimediens de la RD Congo. Je sollicite vos conseils de tout coeur. Merci Nitoninoio (talk) 12:40, 6 April 2021 (UTC)

Hi my name is Naledi Mathatho and I am a teenager who is   years old and I am a female, I need to support and help wiki website by being a trainee mean you can teach me and help me right please I am begging you even they told me to go through HOW TO CONTRIBUTE I went there and I couldn't understand everything because it was too long I am just a little girl who is trying to follow her dreams even my parents they may be very Starbbon so they don't know that I am doing this because I am following my dreams please I don't want them to know what I am doing please please please please I am begging you oh I by the way I am from South Africa in Johannesburg

Hello Naledi. Thank you for writing to me. I am happy that you are interested in contributing to the Wikimedia projects! That is a very noble and commendable thing. The internet is full of unsafe sites for young people, and perhaps this may be the reason that your parents would like to minimize your exposure to such online sites and activities.
I encourage you and your parents to reach out to Wikimedia South Africa, which is based in Johannesburg and Cape Town, to find out about available training programs for school-going youths. You can reach out to the chapter on their website here or send them an email (membership(_AT_)
Best regards

RU-NC and BAK reports and compliance

Hello, Dumisani. I found this table on Meta, and I see that RU-NC (Wikipedians of North Caucasus) and BAK (Wikimedians of Bashkortostan) are indicated as “Noncompliant” user groups. I have done very detailed reports on the activities of both groups for 2020 (RU-NC; BAK) and 2021 (RU-NC; BAK), and it is very strange to me that those groups are categorized as “Noncompliant.” Each time I made reports on time and added them to the table here. I am also concerned about the fact that there are no WMF reviews on these reports — as if all my (and my colleagues as well) work was wasted. You could at least add a report to the category “Accepted” or “Not accepted” with an explanation of what we should correct. I absolutely accidentally discovered this first table, where both of my groups, for some reason, are marked as “Noncompliant,” and no one even contacted me about this situation. — Soul Train (talk) 14:38, 27 December 2021 (UTC)

Hey there @Soul Train:, Thanks for this message. The Reports page is no longer used to submit reports, Please use the Wikimedia Affiliates Data Portal to submit Affiliate reports going forward. I also see that both your affiliates are now compliant. --DNdubane (WMF) (talk) 17:34, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
