I would like to nominate myself. I have reverted several unconstructive edits in Wikimedia projects, especially English and Simple English Wikipedias. I already have rollback rights in English Wikipedia, Simple English Wikipedia and Wikidata and know how and when to use it well. The tool will help me in reverting vandalism in other wikis too. Thank You - Jayadevp13 (talk) 12:10, 29 April 2013 (UTC) |

* comment Per the global rollback policy linked above "[…] users must be demonstrably active in cross-wiki countervandalism or anti-spam activities (for example, as active members of the Small Wiki Monitoring Team) and make heavy use of revert on many wikis" for consideration. In my opinion, you do not fulfill this requirement, yet. You've only edited on 11 different wikis and I do not see much vandalism reverts outside the projects where you have already a local flag. Please come back later, if you are more active cross-wiki. Global rollback for Lukas²³
- Global user: Lukas²³ (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
Hello! I'd like to nominate myself for the global rollback permission. I have been fairly active in the SWMT during the past weeks with Twinkle but the tools would make work much easier for me. I have rollback rights on other projects and know how to use them correctly. Thank you for considering my application, Lukas²³ (talk) 17:06, 13 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi, My IP address has been blocked because I use proxy servers. Some of the ISPs in my country have blocked Wikipedia and for that we need to connect through proxy servers to make contributions to the pages of our area of expertise. Please unblock my IP address and allow me to connect through proxy servers if needed.
The contents of the block infobox are as below,
You are currently unable to edit Wikipedia. Global IP block exempt for ks.magi
- Global user: ks.magi (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
I'm using a vpn to access Internet because of the GFW. But my vpn server provider's ip is blocked globally on wikipedia. Some of my vpn's ip are: 69.46.86.220, 74.117.63.111. Thay are not all because my server provider use load balancing on over 20 servers. Can i get global ip block exempt? --Ks.magi (talk) 03:29, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
- 74.117.63.111 is actually not blocked. Ruslik (talk) 04:21, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
Global IP block exempt for Samosoboi

Hi, the ip 82.38.174.204 has been blocked, We provided detailed explanation and verification to justify our corrections on our discussion page http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9E%D0%B1%D1%81%D1%83%D0%B6%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B5_%D1%83%D1%87%D0%B0%D1%81%D1%82%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%B0:Samosoboi Hereby I modestly repeat my request to have ip 82.38.174.204 exempt from universal block as it is a bona fide Virgin Media IP. I have looked into the reasons of this blocking sited as "abuse as source of XFF", which occurred due to an incidental use of another computer and will avoid such overlooks in the future. Your speedy assistance in this matter is highly appreciated. Thank you. Samosoboi (talk) 19:52, 22 April 2013 (UTC)Samosoboi

API High Limit Requestor for VIAFbot
- Global user: VIAFbot (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
Hi everyone, I have written a bot that will use Authority Control information from English, French, German, and Italian Wikipedia, cluster, analyze, and then write semantic properties to Wikidata. One of the steps is to gather all the possible data, from these wikis, the working code is on github. At this junction I just want the API High Limit Requestor group, to be able to make larger requests to help speed up crawling, which would take about 4 days otherwise. My bot will not make any edits on target sites, just fetch data from them. I already have the botflag on Wikidata and Englsh Wikipedia. Thanks, --Maximilianklein (talk) 19:58, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- Support Seems reasonable. πr2 (t • c) 02:55, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
- Support (Disclaimer: I was the one who told Max to apply for this) VIAFbot has a well established track record on enwiki and will be a great asset for importing VIAF and other similar data into Wikidata. Legoktm (talk) 03:36, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
- Seems no problem. Question: is this a request for temporary or long term flag? --Bencmq (talk) 04:34, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
- This is potentially a long-term flag, so that later I can run maintenance scripts and sync wikipedia with wikidata. Maximilianklein (talk) 16:18, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
- Support No damage expected, as the bot won't make any edits on target sites. Furthermore, API High Limit Requestor permissions are quite useful for Wikidata bots, like Legobot already shows. Regards, Vogone talk 14:50, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
- Support Obvious good use for the flag. I don't mind it being assigned on an indefinite basis, until he no longer needs it. Ajraddatz (Talk) 14:52, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
- Support: this seems fine to me. Just be sure to not slam the MediaWiki API (cf. mw:API:Etiquette). --MZMcBride (talk) 16:48, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

API High Limit Requestor for BetaBot
- Global user: BetaBot (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
Hi everyone, I have written a bot that updates sitelinks in wikidata of pages moved. It reads the move logs of all the wikipedia. Since it fetches info from the API, it would benefit from having 'apihighlimits' to make bigger requests, meaning it can go faster. My bot will not make any edits on target sites, just fetch data from them. I already have the botflag on Wikidata and Italian Wikipedia. Thanks, --β16 - (talk) 10:07, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
- I have no objections. Ruslik (talk) 07:49, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
- Are we getting duplication of efforts here? I am hoping that WD would be looking to minimise xwiki duplication so that we are not having multiple bots whacking away on API pulls across a few hundred wikis. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:48, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
- This type of operation is performed only by my bot. If a user moves a page in a wikipedia, BetaBot reads the log of moves and updates Wikidata. The software automatically updates all other wikipedia, without the intervention of anyone, human or bot.
- To perform this operation, the bot must be able to read the movelog of all wikipedia. I have already made sure that this does not take place at fixed intervals of time, but more or less frequently depending on the size of the wiki (and therefore on the frequency of these actions). --β16 - (talk) 20:33, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
- Why isn't this built into the WikiBase extension? PiRSquared17 (talk) 20:41, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
- I don't know the source code of the WikiBase extension, but there is bugzilla:36729 (opened about a year ago). --β16 - (talk) 13:40, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
- Why isn't this built into the WikiBase extension? PiRSquared17 (talk) 20:41, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
- The only bots working on this are BetaBot and Hazard-Bot. This task is one where speed is important because if the page is moved, the langlinks will vanish until someone (or the bot) updates it in Wikidata. As Beta mentions, this is a long open bug to have the Wikibase extension do it itself, but until that is ready, we need to have bots do it. I had written a replacement that uses a cross-database query on the Toolserver, except the Wikidata db is lagged by several days to the point where it's useless. Legoktm (talk) 05:16, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
- No objection against the bots, and I agree that it is necessary, although I'd like to remark that Wikidata shouldn't have gone live without the most obvious longterm bugs still being unresolved. Currently the interwiki situation is getting worse with every page move that isn't catched up at WD, and is significantly worse than it was before WD activation. --Krd 14:25, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
