IP suggests I should commit suicide

I have blocked the range 2409:4081:8000:0:0:0:0:0/35 for one month as this user is regularly getting reverted.. To my fellow admins, I expect an unblock request, and prior to that happening we are going to need a culture change. Request for patroller rights

Hello there! I am engaged in cross-wiki patrolling daily, including here at Meta. So, I would like to request the patroller rights to faciliate with that on Meta-Wiki, mostly to be able to easily revert vandalism/spam, instead of having to use undo or Twinkle's rollback each time. I have read Meta:Patrollers and Meta:Rollback and I am aware of how to use the rollback tools, as I have experience with rollback/sysop tools from other wikis. @RamzyM (WMF) given that protecting the main page doesn't restrict translation, that we have lots of active sysops, and that there haven't been vandals targeting the page yet, can you clarify why this warrants preemptive protection? Especially since changes to the main page don't go into effect for translations until marked by a translation admin. I don't think we should be preemptively protecting pages without evidence of vandals (anonymous contributors can make constructive edits!) but if another meta admin feels differently I'm not going to unprotect it. --DannyS712 (talk) 02:03, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
Apologies for the late reply and thanks for your response, DannyS712. This request is one of those things where we hope there's not too much edits are being made, since it's something that is formulated and approved for stable release by the U4C Building Committee. The ratification vote for this charter is planned in January, for which it will be distributed widely to village pumps globally and featured on Meta main page, so there's some chance of vandalism. Thanks @Gnoeee. I'd like to note that this list is actually not fully correct. For example, I don't think User:Nizar is an UG member (they last edited in 2012 at Polish Wikipedia, see special:CentralAuth/Nizar). I believe you meant to include User:Vknizar instead, who edits ml.wikipedia (but even then, their last edit is from 2019, so I'm not sure whether the announcement would be even seen by that user).
That being said, the list generally looks good, and I'm happy to assign the requested flag temporarily for a year. After the year, please feel free to re-request it again if it is still needed.
