-- Ата (talk) 17:27, 4 May 2014 (UTC)

Your bot TohaomgBot in German Wiktionary
[edit]Hi Tohaomg, according to the bot policy of German Wiktionary your bot needs a local bot flag for operating in de.wiktionary. Please take a look at de:wikt:Wiktionary:Bots/Anträge auf Botflag and request the bot flag before running (or testing) your bot in German Wiktionary. Thanks in advance and greetings from Austria --Udo T. (talk) 12:36, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Udo T.:, do I really need a bot flag to do one edit per month? --Tohaomg (talk) 13:31, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
- The problem is, if your bot will do sometimes more edits, it can happen that your bot will be blocked, because your bot is not approved. --Udo T. (talk) 13:38, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
Hi Tohaomg, because your bot is not approved in German Wiktionary and the bot also tries to change user pages, I have now blocked the bot. Please request the bot flag on de:wikt:Wiktionary:Bots/Anträge auf Botflag. As long as your bot doesn't have a bot flag in German Wiktionary, it will remain blocked. With best regards --Udo T. (talk) 20:50, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
- Well, according to Spezial:Beiträge/TohaomgBot, my bot have done only two edits. Is that too much? --Tohaomg (talk) 20:56, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
- The bot also tries to change user pages, see de:wikt:Spezial:Missbrauchsfilter-Logbuch. User pages are not changed by bots in German Wiktionary, unless there is a formal vote on it. And according to our bot policy, a bot must be generally authorized and must have a bot flag. With best regards --Udo T. (talk) 21:07, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
- In that case, I will request bot status. --Tohaomg (talk) 21:10, 21 December 2017 (UTC)

TohaomgBot on pt wiki
[edit]Hello there, your bot has been blocked on pt.wp, so please make a flag request on pt:WP:BOT/PA. I know it's hard to make local requests, but it's a needed formality. According to local policy, the bot edit summary must contain "BOT:", and edits have a limit of 6 edits per minute, those are the things you should pay some attention, as far as i can see in a quick test. Alchimista (talk) 11:25, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Alchimista:, added request, but it seems to be noticed by nobody. --Tohaomg (talk) 21:57, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
Same for slwiki. Also, Slovene doesn't fit under "srlangs", if you point me to the core version of the source code, I can provide a correct translation. — Yerpo Eh? 05:14, 9 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Yerpo:, I have read that serbian and slovenian are lexically very close, so since I already have a serbian translation, I thought it would be better for slwiki than english. But if you provide a slovenian translation, I will put it into the code.
- About the bot flag, unlike in ptwiki, my bot does not make a lot of edits in slwiki. So, I think, if it is just fulfilling the request and waiting several days, without any test runs, discussions, interviews, etc, I can do it. But if it is any harder, that the game is not worth the candles. --Tohaomg (talk) 05:28, 9 August 2017 (UTC)
- The process is usually straightforward - see sl:Wikipedija:Boti. — Yerpo Eh? 05:56, 9 August 2017 (UTC)
- In ar.wikipedia also, please apply a request to grant a Bot permission! Thanks --Alaa :)..! 18:40, 9 August 2017 (UTC)
TohaomgBot on Hungarian Wikipedia
[edit]Hi Tohaomg! I've seen your bot's contributions on huWiki. An editor has asked "trusted user" right for your bot to we don't have to check its edits every time (bot not a "bot right" to we could see the replacements on our watchlists). Could you put this Hungarian translation of summary into the code? I can't translate word by word, because most of the editors won't know what raster means, therefore I choose the following: Kép(ek) cseréje SVG-formátumú változatra – Change picture(s) to SVG format version. Hello tech ambassador! This month has seen a good influx of new faces in this crew \o/ , so it is time to reactivate our conversations. Now that we have a pretty good coverage of so many different projects, here are some topics for your consideration.
- Are there further thoughts on the role itself? I hope the questions available on Meta can help spark them. Please weigh in at Talk:Tech/Ambassadors/List#Tech ambassadors, take 2.
- How about we try and organise future collective work in a Phabricator workboard? Talk:Tech/Ambassadors/List#A Phab workboard for us? has all the details to explore this proposal.
- Finally, you are also welcome to comment at https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T177923, should you happen to have suggestions for the Community Liaisons team, currently wondering how to measure "Wiki projects requesting beta features and other early deployments".
We hope to be able to host a live discussion in early 2018; until then, we're looking forward to hearing from you on Meta! All the best, --Elitre (WMF) (talk), on behalf of the Community Liaisons

Bot flag in gl wiki
[edit]Hi Tohaomg. Thanks for your contributions in gl wiki with TohaomgBot. I think it should be better that you request a bot flag in our wiki, seeing that its doing a good work for us, so that it does not clutter recent changes too much if you plan to continue its activity there. You just need to add a new section with below code at the end of this page, i'll handle any translations required and follow up on the process. Thanks!
===TohaomgBot=== Contribucións: {{u|TohaomgBot}} <Please add a quick review of how bot works and what it does> ~~~~ ;A favor ;En contra ;Neutros ;Comentarios
Also, the galician edit summary would be something like this:
summary.Add("gl", "BOT: Substitución de imaxe raster por formato SVG.");

Getting started on Phabricator
[edit]Greetings, ambassador!
As recently discussed within this group, we are ready to experiment with setting up a project and its related workboard on Phabricator, the platform used in the Wikimedia movement for project management, software bug reporting and feature requests. It will help us coordinate and cooperate better on projects that should require ambassadors' involvement.
For the time being, I'm just asking that you please add your Phabricator nickname next to your name in the ambassadors' table (you can create an account now if you don't have one already). I will send you further information soon! Thanks for your patience as we get to the operational stage of this effort :) Best, --Elitre (WMF) (talk) 14:58, 16 January 2018 (UTC)

New Tech Ambassadors Phabricator board
[edit]Hello!
You have listed yourself as an active Tech Ambassador, thank you for that!
We have recently set up a board on Phabricator so that you can learn about tasks and updates that are potentially interesting for your community, and take action when necessary. During the pilot phase we are currently in, to avoid confusion, only Wikimedia Foundation's Community Liaisons will mark tasks so that they end up in the various columns. Thanks for your understanding!
Please follow this Phabricator board (learn how to). You'll receive "notifications" for updates in all tasks listed there. In case you choose to receive them as email; we currently expect the volume to be fairly low, but in any case you can learn how to manage it.
If you have any feedback about this board, please leave your questions and comments on the Ambassadors talk page.
All the best, Trizek (WMF) (talk) 13:03, 24 May 2018 (UTC)
SVG Translate Community wishlist survey project
[edit]Hello! Thank you for voting for the SVG Translate project that was proposed in the 2017 Wishlist survey. The Community Tech team in the Wikimedia Foundation is beginning to start their work on the project. We're currently looking for feedback on some open questions which will allow us to come up with preliminary designs for the tool. If you are interested in being involved, you can watch the project page and join in the discussions on the talk page. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and learning from your experiences. Thank you. -- NKohli (WMF), Product Manager, Community Tech (talk) 21:53, 16 August 2018 (UTC)

The Community Wishlist Survey
[edit]Hi,
You get this message because you’ve previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey. I just wanted to let you know that this year’s survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until 11 November: Community Wishlist Survey 2019.
You can vote from November 16 to November 30. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won’t send out a separate reminder to you about that. /Johan (WMF) 11:24, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
The Affiliate-selected Board seats process welcomes your support
[edit]Hello. You are receiving this message because you are active in the field of translations <3 The movement needs you! The Nominations phase has started for the ongoing selection process of two Board members, and the timeline is quite tight.
A Translation Central is available to help translators figure out what's been covered and what's left to do. Over the course of the next few weeks, your attention on candidates' profiles is particularly welcome.
While there are four languages that are especially relevant for multiple affiliates (namely Arabic, French, Russian and Spanish), we are asking your help for Chinese, Ukrainian, Bengali, Czech, Hungarian, Romanian, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Polish, Farsi, German, Cantonese, Finnish, Hindi, Thai, Dutch, and Greek, as these also matter to affiliates! If you can't help: please see if you know anyone in your circle who could, and spread the word :) Thank you! Elitre (WMF) and Facilitators of ASBS 2019, 21:35, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
User script to access other watchlists
[edit]Hi Tohaomg,
If you remember, you participated in the 2019 Community Wishlist Survey, including the discussion for reviving "Crosswatch" to allow for cross-wiki watchlists (Community Wishlist Survey 2019/Watchlists/Revive Crosswatch tool).
I sent you this MassMessage because I wanted to let you know that I have made a user script to make accessing your watchlists on different wikis easier, since for now that wishlist item has not been actioned.
The way it works is that, on any wiki, when you look at your watchlist, there is a button labeled "CA" that takes you to the CentralAuth page for you. There, when looking at your own information, each link to a wiki ("meta.wikimedia.org", "www.wikidata.org", "de.wikipedia.org", etc.) is changed so that it links to your watchlist on that wiki.
If you are interested in using it, just add mw.loader.load('//meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:DannyS712/Watchlist.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript');
to your global javascript page. This imports the code at m:User:DannyS712/Watchlist.js.
If you want to learn more, there is documentation for the script available at w:en:User:DannyS712/Watchlist. If you would like to discuss the script, talk to me at m:User talk:DannyS712.
Thanks, --05:50, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

Community Wishlist Survey 2020 needs translations
[edit]Hello!
I'm contacting you because you've already translated some messages for the Community Wishlist Survey. We need more translations for the 2020 edition, to create a survey that would serve as many users as we know.
The list below shows our needs by order of importance (most important first):
- The invitation sent to communities. It summarizes the process. We plan to distribute it soon on this year target wikis. The more translations we have, the better!
- The form for non-English speakers. Anyone should be able to add their wish, no matter which language they speak. Translating this short form is very important to encourage diversity and equity.
- The survey itself, where the entire process is described.
- The preload form, that provides more context on existing wishes.
Some languages are already covered (maybe by you), but some messages have been updated, and there is always some room for reviewing and polishing messages.
Thank you in advance for your help! This survey can't be successful without your assistance. :)
Trizek (WMF), 14:43, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
Hello, I came here from the links at m:Wikimedia chapters (please update if wrong). Has your chapter discussed the Community open letter on renaming Wikimedia, and are you going to sign it? Nemo 12:48, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

The WMUA Board draft decision on signing is at wmua:Проєкти рішень Правління#Про підписання відкритого листа до Фонду Вікімедіа щодо перейменування, but three of our Board members refrain from voting in spite of frequent reminders in messengers. Sunday August 23: Strategic Wikimedia Affiliates Network meeting
[edit]The Strategic Wikimedia Affiliates Network (SWAN) is a proposed forum for all Wikimedia movement affiliates to share ideas on the Wikimedia 2030 strategy process. It expands on the model of the All-Affiliates Brand Meeting to help lay some of the groundwork for a future Global Council.
The idea is to follow up on the All-Affiliates Brand Meeting and other strategic and outreach topics of mutual concern to all affiliates, and you are all invited to RSVP here.--Pharos (talk) 15:43, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
The 2021 Community Wishlist Survey is now open! This survey is the process where communities decide what the Community Tech team should work on over the next year. We encourage everyone to submit proposals until the deadline on 30 November, or comment on other proposals to help make them better. The communities will vote on the proposals between 8 December and 21 December.
The Community Tech team is focused on tools for experienced Wikimedia editors. You can write proposals in any language, and we will translate them for you. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing your proposals!
18:26, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
We invite all registered users to vote on the 2021 Community Wishlist Survey. You can vote from now until 21 December for as many different wishes as you want.
In the Survey, wishes for new and improved tools for experienced editors are collected. After the voting, we will do our best to grant your wishes. We will start with the most popular ones.
We, the Community Tech, are one of the Wikimedia Foundation teams. We create and improve editing and wiki moderation tools. What we work on is decided based on results of the Community Wishlist Survey. Once a year, you can submit wishes. After two weeks, you can vote on the ones that you're most interested in. Next, we choose wishes from the survey to work on. Some of the wishes may be granted by volunteer developers or other teams.
We are waiting for your votes. Thank you!

AI call 16 May
[edit]Hi, you're getting this message as you've signed up as interested in the topic at the Artificial intelligence page.
You might already be aware of this, but in case you had missed other announcements I wanted to send out a reminder about the Wikimedia AI call which is happening tomorrow, 16 May, at 14:00 UTC. There will be presentations from various parts of the movement, with space for questions and discussion. The call will be recorded, if one prefers to watch if afterwards.
