This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop, global rename, …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Successful global rollback requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion, while successful global renamer and global sysop discussions require no fewer than 2 weeks.

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Global rollback for Grind24

I'd like to apply for rollback. I've been an active member of the SWMT for some months;doing many reverts and taggings. The rollback tool is more efficient than manually undoing and twinkle so this would make it much easier to revert nonsense/spam edits. Plus there are still some wikis where I have to install my global.js so TW is not there when needed most and I think that rollback globally would help me do the job faster.Grind24 (talk) 21:16, 23 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I made reference to TW includes in my global.js that doesn't answer of times when I have the more necessity--Grind24 (talk) 22:17, 23 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Support, good crosswiki activity, good crosswiki editcount, and Grind24 focus on helping GS with "Gs eyes" page are greatly appreciated.--AldNonymousBicara? 21:29, 23 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose For now, because by checking crosswiki edits I don't see that Grind is active on reverting vandalism or spam. I see however a lot of userpage creations which could be avoided by our new Global Userpage extension and some speedy deletion tagging, for which rollback is not required. And while I appreciate your work, this does not give me the impression that GR is needed by now :-( — MarcoAurelio 21:57, 23 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose Per Marco and the hat collecting clause. See this. Eurodyne (talk) 07:09, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Eurodyne if you charge me of hats collecting, what we will say of this,this, email crat to become admin, another diff, on pl.wiki,mediawiki,en.wikibook,es.wikipedia;definitely it is the true hat collection , I don't know why you pursue me every time, then me you advice to assume the good faith.--Grind24 (talk) 11:11, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Grind24: This request is concerning you and does not have anything to do with me. I may have been a hypocrite, but that's beyond the point in this request specifically. Eurodyne (talk) 20:05, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It might help if you speak in French, which I think would help me understand you better (I can translate). Also, Eurodyne's hat collection, while a problem I do have, does not discredit yours as a concern; I also have this same concern with you.--Jasper Deng (talk) 19:32, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
comment: As far as I can see, there's hardly any reverts outside of Meta and English Wikipedia. Most of your activity has been content translations and welcoming users. Of course, there's that "issue" the others above have mentioned. I recommend using Twinkle across more wikis other than just the English ones. Tropicalkitty (talk) 09:18, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request withdrawn Decidedly all seems to indicate that it won't happen well,in addition to this interpretation of hats collection, so I withdraw --Grind24 (talk) 15:48, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Global rollback for Devwebtel

Global rollbacker rights will help me reverting vandalisms (I'm member of SWMT and I'm voiced on #cvn-sw IRC channel). If you grant me this rights, you can delete my CAPTCHA exemptions rights (globall rollbacker group has skipcaptcha right). --Devwebtel (query) 12:36, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Closed. After more than 5 days of discussion, I find that there's no consensus to promote Devwebtel to global rollbacker. —MarcoAurelio 14:49, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Global rename for K6ka

Not ending before 20 June 2015 14:25 UTC

Hello, I'm K6ka, and I'd like to request the global renamer tool partly due to a suggestion by Xeno, who is a local en.wiki bureaucrat and a fellow global renamer. I'm afraid I do not hold the sysop or bureaucrat flags anywhere on Wikimedia, but I am very involved in the en.wikipedia changing username process, working as a clerk there for well over a year now (before the rename tool was removed from bureaucrats), so I know about the renaming process. Having the global rename tool would be useful as it would allow me to process requests instead of having to leave a message and waiting for a global renamer to handle it. I have read and understood the Global rename policy and I plan to put this tool to good use. Thanks. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 14:25, 6 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support Support K6ka is active in the rename process on enwiki, and has enough experience from that to know how to use the bit properly. I would usually like to see a sysop flag, but the candidate's experience compensates for a lack of one (and that is more important, since sysops have nothing to do with renaming). Thanks for volunteering! Ajraddatz (talk) 15:58, 6 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Support mainly per Ajraddatz. Even though this user does not hold sysop rights anywhere, I feel that he is certainly qualified for this role. K6ka, thank you for your impressive, hardworking and gnomish work on enwiki renaming request page. Jianhui67 talkcontribs 16:02, 6 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Support Well-qualified for the role, with much experience in the changing username process. Probably the only reason he doesn't hold administrative privileges on en is that he hasn't accepted any nomination yet. As one of the most active bureaucrats in the enwiki renaming process, I've come to rely on his participation in the clerking process, rarely having to deviate from the path he suggests for the customer or processor. Also active on simple wiki, so would be able to help coordinate the CHU process on that project as well. –xeno 16:03, 6 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Support For a while, I've thought that we should encourage (good) CHU clerks on enwiki to run and I'm glad Xeno took the step to ask. --Rschen7754 16:12, 6 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Support been good working being a rename clerk.--AldNonymousBicara? 12:44, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Global editinterface for Matma Rex

I've been a global interfaceeditor for the past year and my permissions expired. I still need them for the same purpose :) As a MediaWiki developer working primarily on JavaScript, I find more and more often that I need to make simple fixes to gadgets on various wikis using deprecated features, or update such gadgets copied from another place to the most recent version. I am sysop at the Polish Wikipedia (pl:User:Matma Rex) and mediawiki.org (mw:User:Matma Rex). Last year's request: Steward requests/Global permissions/2014-06#Global editinterface for Matma Rex. Done Matanya (talk) 22:37, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This makes me a little wonder, didn't at least 3 users above oppose an early closure of this request? Vogone (talk) 22:48, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Dammit, freaking time zones. it is the 7th, not the 8th. I hate myself. Matanya (talk) 22:50, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Global editinterface for Ori Livneh

I would like to be added to the global interface editors group. I am principal performance engineer at the Wikimedia Foundation, but I also hack on the site in my spare time, and have been an editor since 2006, so I have a fair understanding of norms of behavior and etiquette. If my request is approved, I will use the permission to update code for JavaScript API changes, and to make performance optimizations, when such optimizations can be applied without compromising functionality. I am a sysop on MediaWiki.org (mw:User:Ori Livneh). --Ori Livneh (talk) 18:10, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
