This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Global rollback for Atcovi

Not ending before 13 March 2016 21:02 UTC

I have recently been active in the field of reverting vandalism across various Wikimedia wikis. And without having to use the slow "undo" button (and so I don't have to go to the history tab, click a revision so I could revert multiple vandalism edits: here and here; I used "Rv", showing I am reverting multiple vandalism edits). And another note, my CentralAuth has increased since last request.

And speaking of last request, I feel like I have taken care of the concerns by the Wikimedia Community in the last request in April of 2015... which were

"Goldenburg111 alias Draubb alias Aaqib A. and who remembers the other names he used certainly has not improved his behaviour. Whenever I see him on the SWMT or stewards channel, he makes less than clueful comments unfortunately. Also a very weird sentence in the rationale about the feeling that someone reverted faster than oneself - this still happens to people who have rollback rights, and it's anyway not a feeling to deplore (oh no, other people are active too?!" from Warburg.

I don't really think I've been making clueless comments lately, I've been quiet honestly. And I don't believe that the rollback rights make you faster, I got rid of that way of thinking.

And as well as concerns about activity. I believe activity shouldn't be a concern here as I'm usually reverting vandalism everyday, at least once, using the cvn-sw channel. Plus... I request deletion for pages on the gs channel, so I'm active patrolling for pages that are in need of deletion on wikis with no admins (or active ones).

Thanks! --Atcovi (Talk - Contribs) 21:02, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Global sysop for rxy

Not ending before 13 March 2016 15:21 UTC

Thanks for vote to my steward election. btw, I'd like to return to a Global sysop. I'll be active at wmf wikis from this year. and I want to help for stewards, global sysops, and wikimedia communities. If I appointed as a global sysop, I'll be helpful for maintenance and anti-vandalism. Thanks. --rxy (talk) 15:21, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You just did not succeed in that election because people thought you returned to activity too recently. So why does this request come immediately after it? --MF-W 15:25, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your question.
Reason: Sometimes I feels late to handling an anti-vandalism request by Stewards or GSs. If anytime requests handled by Stewards or GSs quickly, I'm not making this requests, and I don't run for SE.
About of my activity in this year: I returned to Japanese Wikipedia for helping as the temporary sysop for stopping massive vandalism bot (Log 1, 2, 3, 4). After that, I talk about to change a department in my job to boss, and that is approved. For this, I'll be active at wmf wikis from this year.--rxy (talk) 19:16, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Global sysop for Ah3kal

Not ending before 22 March 2016 16:50 UTC

I'm a user of Wikimedia projects from 2007 as User:Egmontaz(1). Under that account I used to help in SMWT and was a global rollbacker for I while.(gr request, gr removal request) For personal (irl) and privacy reasons I switched to User:Geilamir (2 not any measurable x-wiki activity with this one) and finaly to my current account (Ah3kal). I can understand any objections and/or uncomfortableness due to account change. I enjoy x-wiki countervandalism and beeing helpful to small communities, monitoring cvn-sw, or directly checking recent changes and new pages for unnoticed vandalism. I think this saves time to regular content-editors to do what they enjoy better. I'm currently a sysop in el.wikisource (3) which along with el.wiki, I consider my homewikis. I think having the gs tools will help a bit in my current SWMT job, eventhough I tend to have patience in reverting vandalism before needing to do anything else. If Real life slows me down or keeps me away for a while I will willingly resign the tools. I feel the need to mention this in advance because form June until early September 2016 things won't favor my wikiactivities. Thank you.—Ah3kal (talk) 16:50, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Global sysop for Biplab Anand

Not ending before 23 March 2016 11:58 UTC

Hello Friends, I would like to request for GS. I'm a Global Renamer and active in the Small Wiki Monitoring Team. I have experience with the sysop tool as being a sysop on newiki and maiwiki. This tool would help me to delete vandalism and spam pages. You can find me on irc under the nick Biplab in multiple Wikimedia channels. I surely concern about the scope of GS and also concern where I can use the tool and where it shouldn't be used. Now I have to ask other global sysops or stewards, but it would be much easier when I can do it by myself. Thanks--Biplab Anand (Talk) 11:58, 9 March 2016 (UTC) [reply]

  • Oppose Oppose Unfortunately, I don't believe you are qualified to be a global sysop. Most of your cross-wiki edits are making renames, and I don't see much anti-vandalism or anti-spam activities in your contributions. Maybe not now. eurodyne (talk) 15:45, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
My cross-wiki activities are not only renames. There are several wikimedia projects where i am regularly active as an editor and protector. Thanks--Biplab Anand (Talk) 02:21, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't think you have enough experience yet for these rights. You have relatively few non-renaming contributions off of your home projects, and while they seem OK to me, I'd like to see more before granting you the sysop flag on 400some projects.
